"Cheers!"
"Cheers!" "Happy Birthday, Dianne!" "Happy Birthday!" "Woah!" "Let’s get party!" We’re celebrating our best friend, Dianne, on her 19th birthday. My friends and I are having the time of our lives at a private resort we rented exclusively for her special day. "Babe, I’m sorry. I came late," I turned instantly upon hearing the familiar voice of my boyfriend, Draken. Right after saying that, he leaned closer and kissed me on the cheek. "Where have you been? You came so late tonight, huh?" I asked him curiously. "Ahmm... Something important came up. Anyway, where’s Dianne? Oh wait, let me greet her first," my boyfriend said, and then headed straight toward Dianne. They’ve always been close, so I didn’t mind. We spent the night immersed in celebration. Laughter echoing through the place, bottles of wine and beer scattered around the tables. The poolside glowed under soft lights as we sang, shouted, and danced without a care in the world. "So, Dianne, you’re 19 now. And I heard you’ll be studying in America soon? Is that true?" one of our friends asked teasingly. "Not in America, silly. In Japan. You never listen carefully," Dianne replied with a playful laugh. "So, when are you leaving?" I asked her curiously. "Hmm... that depends. You all know I can’t seem to leave my boyfriend behind," she said, pouting playfully. "Why don’t you just bring him along? Tsk!" "You’re crazy. That’s not possible. Anyway, it’s complicated!" "But hey, what if you leave him here and then find out he’s seeing someone else? Nowadays, that's the problem with being in a relationship," another friend teased. "Huh! He better not even dare. If he ever does, I’ll make him realize exactly what he lost," Dianne said confidently, tossing her hair as we all laughed. I couldn’t stop giggling at our conversation... typical girl talk. Meanwhile, our boyfriends were busy drinking near the mini-bar, while the rest of our friends were dancing wildly like there was no tomorrow. We partied until around three in the morning, and one by one, people started heading back to their rooms. "Babe, let’s go. Babe," I said softly to Draken, who was already too drunk to even sit properly. "Babe, come on, let’s go back to our room." "H-Hmm... Wait... D-Drink first, b-babe," he murmured. "Draken, no more," I said, sighing. "Tsk! Just a little. Come on," he insisted, still holding the half-filled glass of liquor. Because he wouldn’t stop bugging me, I took the drink myself, gulped it down, and set the glass back on the table. I slowly helped him up, placing one of his arms over my shoulder as we walked together. He was heavy, but thankfully, our room was only on the second floor, so we reached it without much struggle. Once we were inside, I closed the door and gently laid him down on the bed. The smell of alcohol lingered on him. But as I looked closer into his eyes, I noticed something unusual tears forming at the corners. Was he... crying? "I-I love you..." My heart began to race with affection the moment he said those words, even though he was drunk. "I love you too, babe," I replied softly, sitting beside him as I gazed at his face. He looked incredibly handsome even in his intoxicated state. But beyond that, what truly made me fall for him was how caring and gentle he always was. We wouldn’t have lasted more than three years if he weren’t— Wait. It suddenly hit me that our fourth anniversary was approaching soon. My heartbeat quickened. I couldn’t believe we had lasted this long four amazing years together. We started dating back in our third year of high school. Now that we’re both in college, nothing has changed between us. Gently, I placed my palm on his cheek and rubbed my thumb against his skin. "I love you very much, Draken Luzevia," I whispered softly before pressing a light kiss on his lips. There were countless times I had kissed him without his knowledge, usually when he was asleep. But then, something shifted. I suddenly felt a hand on my head. Wait! Was that his? Before I could think, Draken’s lips began to move against mine. It wasn’t just a soft kiss anymore. It was deep, fervent, and full of longing. "H-Hmm..." I moaned quietly, overwhelmed by the intensity of his kiss. I couldn’t control myself; it felt like I was completely drawn into his rhythm. He gently turned our positions, laying me down as he hovered above me, our lips still locked in that unbroken connection. Yet, after a few moments, he paused, his gaze piercing through the silence. "Babe..." he whispered, looking straight into my eyes. His expression was indescribable. A mix of tenderness and something deeper I couldn’t name. My chest tightened as warmth spread inside me. "Continue, please," I whispered, almost pleading. And he did exactly as I asked. He kissed me again, but this time more deeply and more passionately. I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him closer. This time, every breath, every heartbeat, every exchange of kisses felt like the universe itself had stopped, and the only thing that mattered was us."Stop this, Draken. Put me down," I said stubbornly, but he remained unmoved."Don't stop me, Mathia. I know that you also feel what I feel right now," he whispered to me.I was about to answer when suddenly, he pressed his lips against mine. I felt once again the softness and warmth of his kiss. I didn’t resist. I didn’t refuse. Instead, I responded to him, kissing him back as I placed my hands around his neck.I felt one of his hands move behind me. He deepened the kiss, more intense, more heated, more overwhelming."W-Wait," I said as I pulled away from his kiss. I looked straight into his eyes, and he did the same to me. "I-Is this really what you want? To come back to me? You want me to love you again?" I asked."This is all I ever wanted, Mathia," he answered with full of hope.I didn’t respond, so he claimed my lips again. I close my eyes and held onto him once more, no longer stopping what he wanted to happen."W-What if someone sees us?" I asked as he started kissing my neck.
Draken and I were quietly eating when his phone rang. I saw him pull it out and answer.“What do you want?” he snapped at the caller. “I’m in the office. Why? What’s your problem? I don’t care. I’m busy, bye.”Every word that came out of his mouth carried a cold, cutting tone. Was he speaking to his mother? If so, why like that?I didn’t ask him and just continued eating. Frankly, I didn’t care what they did. Let them do whatever they wanted.A few minutes later, we left to head to his company office. Midway through the drive, he suddenly spoke.“Aren’t you even curious who I was talking to earlier?” he asked. I looked at him in surprise, but his eyes stayed fixed on the road ahead.“What are you talking about? I don’t care who you were speaking to. I mind my own business,” I replied. He didn’t respond immediately. He let out a deep sigh before speaking again.“That was my fiancée.”I froze. Did I hear that correctly? Fiancée?“If she’s your fiancée, then why are you so keen on gettin
“There’s nothing Draken should know about Madrid.”I could feel the anger welling up in my chest as I said that to Mom.“Why not? He is Madrid’s father, isn’t he?” she asked.“Yes, I know that. But I will never allow him to just waltz into my child’s life like that,” I explained.“But, Mathia, sooner or later Draken will find out about Madrid. When that happens, how will you explain to Madrid about his father?” Mom asked again. My chest grew heavy. I couldn’t answer. I felt tears threatening to spill at that moment.“Those are my only questions. But again, the choice is yours,” she said as she stood and walked away.I was left alone in the living room. I felt cemented to my seat, lost in thought. After a few moments, I decided to go upstairs to my room and rest. When I opened the door, I was greeted by the sight of my child, fast asleep on the bed. I entered and lay down beside him, gently stroking his hair to calm myself. What if, someday, he meets his father? What will my child’s fi
“Come on, let’s eat,” Charlie invited as he arrived, carrying the two packs of our dishes.Von and Aileen helped me set up the utensils and plates, and then we all took our seats at the empty chairs.“Good evening, everyone,” Matthew greeted as he arrived. He set his helmet aside and approached us, pausing for a moment.I followed his gaze, and it was fixed on Aileen.“Come on, Matthew, let’s eat,” I invited my brother, but he seemed glued to looking at Aileen.“Uncle Matthew!” my child called, snapping Matthew back to reality.“Yes, okay, I’m coming,” he said, finally taking a seat. He ended up beside Charlie, facing Aileen.“It’s really wonderful that we’re together again,” Mom said, looking at all of us. “Thank you all for your help. I’m grateful to God for giving me another chance to be with all of you.”We all smiled at her, and she led the prayer before we began eating together.Minutes passed as we finished our meal. Von and Aileen helped me clean up and put away the dishes unt
I was busy handling orders from each customer and attending to their requests. I needed to focus on work, but Draken’s words from that morning still lingered in my mind.He wanted me to come back to him, but I wasn’t going to allow it to be so easy."Here are your orders: Beef Bourguignon, Bouillabaisse, Grilled Branzino with Basil, Lime, and Ginger, three pieces of Caramel Crunch Tart, and three Lemon Iced Teas. Enjoy," I said to the three customers as I placed their orders on the table before they left.Returning to the counter, I wiped the sweat off my brow and noticed Aileen approaching."Tired or stressed?" she asked, noticing my expression."Both," I answered tersely."Let’s talk later," she said before moving on. I had no choice but to continue working since I was on duty.I ate in silence at the eatery with Aileen and Von. Aileen had been talking nonstop, but I barely noticed."I have more gossip. I heard our boss actually let Lovely go," she said, immediately grabbing my atte
I slowly opened my eyes as I felt my consciousness returning. I was lying in Draken’s bed... naked, covered only by a thin blanket.Something had happened between us. He did what he wanted to me as his so-called punishment. He had changed. Wild, ruthless, and driven by desire in bed. I couldn’t handle him. I weakened, I surrendered, because I was just a woman with no one to defend me.I looked at Draken’s face. He was asleep, breathing evenly. I studied him carefully. He was no longer the Draken I loved. The person beside me now was someone else entirely.Tears pooled at the corners of my eyes. I couldn’t deny it to myself that I still loved Draken, the old Draken, but I wouldn’t allow all my anger and hatred for what he had done to me to go to waste.I clenched my fists in fury. I felt the heat of my anger burning inside me. He wants this game? Fine, I’ll play along. I wouldn’t let myself be the loser in our reunion. If he wants me back, I’ll let him... but not because I love him. I’
I lay on my side, my fist clenched tightly against the bed in anger. Was Draken insane? Did he even realize what he was doing?I suddenly sat up, irritated by my own thoughts. How was my child now? What about Madrid and Matthew? Had they eaten already? Were they asleep? If it weren’t for that man,
When I arrived home, I immediately prepared the remaining shirts and cologne that Charlie had ordered. I planned to personally deliver them to him tomorrow so we could talk before I go to work.“Mama, I don’t have school tomorrow. It’s Saturday. How about you?” my child asked.“I still have work. I
The three of us trainees were currently on our lunch break. We went to a nearby eatery and had our meal there. I wasn’t able to bring packed food because I prioritized taking care of my child.“It’s a good thing that the customers earlier were okay. You know, the only thing that really makes me ner
I am currently taking the order of a couple. I think they are already in their forty's. They look sweet together because the man constantly considers his wife in everything she wants to order.“That’s all,” he said to me after they finished stating their orders. I wrote everything down on the small
