She was perfect.

Kind eyes, good personality, and sharp mind. Everything a woman should have. If anyone could thaw that cold-hearted son of mine, it was the woman sitting across from me.

It was a Wednesday, like always. I came to the cafe near the company, the one I bought years ago just so I could sit here without being disturbed. Back when Apollo lost his wife, he’d stopped living like a person. He barely ate, and slept. I used to sit here every week, hoping he’d walk past, just so I’d know he was still breathing. The habit never left me.

The place was usually empty, and that was fine by me. The woman at the counter, my assistant, couldn’t brew a decent cup of coffee if her life depended on it. That alone kept customers away. Wednesdays were quiet, peaceful, and predictable.

So when the door opened and a young couple walked in, I barely glanced up until I heard him speak. But the absurdity of his words made my blood pressure spike.

He was confessing how he loved men but somehow

  • Please Me, Daddy   You’re kind of heavy

Grace I pushed the small box toward her, my oversized bunny paws making it a little awkward, and flipped open the lid. Inside were all sorts of things, snacks, little sweets, and a neatly stacked container. I picked it up and opened it carefully. Immediately, a delicious scent filled the room. I looked down and almost gasped. The food was a work of art, rice shaped into a tiny panda, the sausages twisted into smiling little bunnies, and even the vegetables arranged like flowers. This morning, Eleanor had shoved the box into my hands with her usual confidence. “Give this to her,” she’d said. “Trust me, it’ll win her heart instantly.” At the time, I didn’t understand what she meant, but now, seeing it before me, everything clicked. It was made with love. I looked up. The girl’s eyes had brightened at the sight of the food. Her small fingers twitched slightly on her lap, as though she wanted to reach out but didn’t trust herself to. I smiled beneath the bunny mask. I didn’t know

  • Please Me, Daddy   This is brutal

Grace “Oh my God, that scared the fuck out of me! What is that?” “I have no idea. Either way, it’s weird. Let’s stay away from it.” The voices floated in the air as I made my way down the hospital hallway, each step heavy under the weight of the ridiculous bunny costume. The head felt like it weighed five kilos, and I was sweating buckets underneath the plush fabric. I tried to ignore the startled stares and muffled laughter around me as I caught my breath. This is insane, Grace, I thought, wiping at my forehead through the mesh eyes of the costume. Completely insane. But if it worked, if it made her talk, then maybe it would all be worth it. I was just about to keep walking when a small voice piped up. “Mummy! Look! It’s Bunny Man!! Can I go say hi?” I turned, my oversized bunny head tilting slightly to one side as I spotted a little boy pointing at me with wide, excited eyes. On instinct, I raised my fuzzy paw and gave a small wave. The boy’s whole face lit up like a Chri

  • Please Me, Daddy   Bunny Man!

GraceThe nurse crouched in front of the little girl, carefully dabbing antiseptic on the bruise that stretched across her small leg. I stood by the side of the bed, my hands tucked behind my back, watching the process in silence. The little girl didn’t even flinch when the cotton touched her skin. She just sat there, staring ahead. Her face stayed blank, like she didn’t feel anything. I knew it hurt, those things always stung like hell, but she didn’t react at all. She’s stronger than I ever was, I thought, watching her. I would’ve kicked and cried by now.The nurse finally straightened up, a warm smile on her face. “That’s all,” she said softly. “It’ll heal in a week. Don’t worry about it, Miss Grace.”I nodded, returning the smile. “Thank you.”She turned to leave, but before she reached the door, I called out, “Excuse me.”The nurse paused, looking back at me. “Yes?”I scratched the back of my head, a little hesitant. “Actually, I’m sorry to bother you, but about that man, who was

  • Please Me, Daddy   I’d pick the dead option

GraceI think I should be asking you that, mister. Who the hell are you, and why the fuck do you look like me?That was what I wanted to say. The words were on the tip of my tongue, but I couldn’t get them out. My brain was too busy trying to make sense of what I was seeing.A man stood there, and for a second, it felt like I was staring at my own reflection, except it wasn’t me. The resemblance was uncanny, and unnerving. Same sharp jawline. Same shape of eyes. Even the same little crease between the brows when he frowned. My chest tightened, a strange feeling blooming there. Why does he look like me?Before I could open my mouth, a soft gasp made me turn. The little girl had frozen, her eyes wide in fear as she stared at the man. That was enough to snap me out of whatever haze I’d fallen into. I turned back to him sharply, Genesis’s voice echoing in my head.“He got a tip about it. Our men have been protecting the girl ever since, but she hasn’t eaten or spoken a word. The doctors h

  • Please Me, Daddy   Who are you?

GraceThis was going to be more difficult than I thought.I stared through the small window of the hospital room, watching the little girl sitting on her bed. She hadn’t moved since the first time. She just sat there, knees drawn to her chest, eyes fixed on the window beside her bed like she was waiting for something that would never come.It had been two days since Genesis first brought me here. Whenever I had free time, I stood quietly by the door, my back against the cold wall, just watching her. Every night, I only left after she fell asleep, always at nine on the dot. She would pull the blanket over herself with slow, mechanical movements, lie down, and drift off, like clockwork.By now, the nurses had grown used to seeing me. Some smiled softly as they passed; others whispered to one another, probably thinking they should have called security by now. I knew they must be thinking I was some kind of creep, a stranger staring into a child’s room. But Genesis had already told them w

  • Please Me, Daddy   You could be in danger

Grace I paused, startled, and turned around to see Genesis standing there, her sharp gaze locked on Jackson. My heart skipped a beat. For a split second, I’d thought it was Apollo, they had the same tone, and commanding presence, but then again, Apollo’s voice didn’t sound like a woman’s. Maybe it was because he’d saved me so many times that I’d started mistaking everyone for him. Even last time, I mistook someone else for him. God, I really needed to get my head straight. Genesis’s eyes flicked from Jackson to where his hand rested. Her voice came out calm but dangerously low. “I’ll repeat myself again. Get your filthy hands off her right now, or I’ll take it off myself. And I’ll be rough, so you decide.” Jackson stiffened, swallowing hard before slowly removing his hand. He raised both palms in surrender, forcing a smile. “I think you’re misunderstanding something, ma'am. Miss Grace and I were just talking. There’s nothing to be worried about, right, Miss Grace?” He turned to m
