5: Saved by Him

DIONE was left standing at the entrance of the university building. Jax went inside and said he would take something from the locker. He suggested to her to come with him, but she refused and said she would just wait for him. She thought Jax might last even longer if she came along.

As she stood there, many people were going in and out, entering the university building. Some would stare at her, perhaps wondering who’s the unfamiliar face at the university is. But no one tried to approach her and ask a question.

But just moments later, a group of men were coming out of the building, Dione thought they were varsity players because of the jerseys they were wearing and they were sweaty.

Dione stepped aside so that the group could pass smoothly. But it distracted her when she heard a whistle from her side. And she saw the men were now paying attention to her. They smiled at her, but Dione didn’t like the kind of smile they had.

The man in the middle approached her. “Hi, miss. You’re new here?” the man asked. Dione backed away when the man got too close to her.

“Ah, yes, I’m new here,” she answered without emotion. She does not want to look miserable to them. They will pick at her more if she shows that she is afraid or ashamed of them.

“Oh, nice. Welcome to Green Valley University. I’m Dylan. How about you?” The man raised his hand to shake hands. Dione confidently raised her hand. “I’m Dione,” she replied. The guy’s companions shouted, laughing.

She immediately took her hand. But the man would not let go of it. Dione frowned and raised her brow at Dylan.

“Let go of my hand,” Dione said firmly, without a hint of happiness on her face. Dylan just laughed and slyly put his arm on Dione’s shoulder.

“Don’t be such a grump, Dione, it’ll ruin your beautiful face,” Dylan said, smirking. Dione shrugged, trying to take the man’s arm over her shoulder, but it was stronger than her. She’s only getting hurt by what she was doing, because every time she tried to take his arm, it made his hand even heavier so that she could not remove it.

“Don’t embarrass me, Dione. They’re looking at us. It won’t hurt you if we’re going to accompany you around the campus, right?”

“No, someone’s with me. And he will take me around here on campus. So, let go of me, now!” Dione couldn’t help but raise her voice. She’s getting irritated and annoyed right now.

“No, you’re lying for us to leave. Come on, we’re helping you,” Dylan keeps on insisting as his troop keeps on cheering the jerk.

“I said, let go of me!” Dione shouted and she couldn’t stop herself and she bit Dylan’s hand that was hanging on her arm. So the man immediately released her. She immediately entered the building to meet Jax. But her eyes widened when she heard the man shouted outside.

“I won’t let you get away with this, b*tch,” Dylan shouted and chased after Dione, who was now running away.

“Where is Jax?” Dione said to herself in the middle of running. She knows that it’ll only be a matter of time before those guys catch up to her. They’re athletes, that’s expected.

Dione saw the sign on the wall pertaining to lockers and comfort rooms. So she immediately turned into that hallway. And she smiled when she saw the lined lockers, but she couldn’t see Jax anywhere.

She would have run again when Dylan’s group reached her and pulled her into the men’s comfort room. The men immediately locked the door as they entered.

Dylan threw her on the floor, she yelp out of pain. She immediately stood up and walked away from them. She thinks that they are under the influence of illicit drugs because of their red eyes.

“W-what do you need from me?” Dione still tries to be brave. But she knew that wasn’t enough to stop the strength of five men against a single woman like her.

“We’re just being helpful to you, and you start on acting like a b*tch. That’s why we will let you taste our punishment,” Dylan said with a wicked smile. It slowly approached Dione, and Dione backed away. Until she had nothing to fall back on because the wall was behind her.

“You can’t go anywhere now,” Dylan said. He grabbed both of Dione’s arms and gently ran his finger down her neck. Dione struggled and was able to slap the man, which made him even angrier. Dylan let his two team mates grabbed both of Dione’s arms.

“You b*tch,” Dylan said angrily and forcibly tore the clothes Dione was wearing. It tore all the way to the bottom of Dione’s chest.

“Jax!” Dione shouted and forced herself not to get upset, even though her tears had already threatened to drip.

“Jax… please,” Dione weakly shouted.

“No one will come to save you here, Dione. You’re with us now,” Dylan said, slowly running his finger from her neck to her chest.

“No! Don’t touch me! Jaaaax!” Dione was losing hope, but all of a sudden there was a knock on the door of the comfort room from outside.

“Who is that?! Come in later!” Dylan shouted as he covered his palm over Dione’s mouth. But Dione was able to bite the skin of the man’s finger, so she was able to scream.

“Help! Jax!” with that shout, the door opens… someone knocked it down from the forced entry of a man and that was…

“Jax!” Dione’s call to the man who came. The man’s expression was dark as he looked at the men holding her.

“How dare you all to lay a hand on her! You all will regret this!” Jax said loudly. Dylan’s two companions rushed at him who in a flash was immediately knocked over, one being thrown inside the cubicle while the other went straight to the mirror.

Dione’s eyes are widened. She doesn’t know if it’s just a feeling that Jax’s strength is unique. With just a simple slap of his arm, Dylan’s two companions fled, unconscious.

Until the left standing are Dione, Jax and Dylan. All the companions of the latter were lying on the floor and unconscious.

“D-don’t you dare try me, Jax Hemmings, you don’t—” The man couldn’t continue what he was supposed to say when Jax strangled him.

“The moment that those hands of yours touched Dione, you are already in trouble. You can’t come out of here without me doing to you on what you did to Dione,” Jax insisted and tightened his grip on his neck.

While Dione was nervous and thought what else could Jax do so she called its attention, “Jax, that’s enough! Maybe something else will happen to him. ”

Jax turned to her, and without a warning he let go of Dylan, who fainted on the floor.

Jax approached Dione. He took off the varsity jacket he was wearing, which he took from the locker room. He put the jacket on Dione because her clothes were torn. Dione immediately closed the jacket, and without saying a word she hugged Jax and there she burst into tears.

“T-thank you, Jax. You came, you really came,” Dione said in between her sobs. Jax buried her deeper in his chest and stroked her hair.

“I’m sorry, I was late, Dione,” Jax said. But next time, he will not let this happen again. Not anymore, because from now on. He vowed to protect this girl, no matter what.
