Her behavior was so, odd. Why would I have her clothes? Why didn't she bring her own? I felt agitated as she slammed the bathroom door but that quickly turned to remorse when I heard her sobs. How, how could I fix this? Why was she crying? Had I hurt her unintentionally? I had every intention of talking this out with her as soon as she came out, but I had passed out before she could return to the bed.
I was pleasantly surprised when I woke up to have her cuddled up to me. My heart swelled as I felt my face break into a grin, her face buried into my neck, her light breathing caressing my skin. I refused to move in case I would wake her, and to try and stop my morning wood from getting too excited. She shifted slightly, murmuring in her sleep before I felt her lips against the nape of my neck. My entire body shivering with anticipation and excitement as I felt her tongue flick against the muscle in my neck. My mind was racing, was she awake and ready to accept me? I felt immense and intense pleasure wash over my body as her teeth dug into my flesh. I let out a moan as she yelled "NO" as she tried to push herself off me.
I stared at her confused and kind of pissed off. "The f*** Laura?" I asked her before rolling over, letting her out of our cuddle. She looked at me mortified, I was so confused. Why was she looking at me like that? I guess she wasn't ready to accept me, perhaps vampires just dreamt about biting people? I huffed before walking to the bathroom to clean myself up so I could ask her directly, not trusting myself to push her into taking this further. Goddess dam it, why did you make her so... irresistible. Yet, when I reemerged she was nowhere to be seen. My heart stopped, why. Why did she leave me? Did she hate me that much? No. No, she must just be embarrassed maybe?
"Dimitri" I barked through the door, knowing he would be there.
"Yes, Alpha." He responded quickly, he was so eager to please me.
"The Luna has... disappeared. Please, find her."
Okay! Phew, that was a lot of information! I want to just let everyone know that some of Victor's backstory is quite dark so in order to keep his chapters free I will need to sensor some stuff.
Hope you all enjoyed :) New main story chapters coming soon!
"Yes Sir!"
I smiled knowing I had made the right decision in naming him my Beta, many would question me as to why. After all, it was common knowledge that our medics were those without a wolf. Dimitri, he was different. I knew his mother well, she had been a close friend of my own mother. And after, after everything that had happened that night. Seeing my parents tormented, abused, and finally murdered. Having to participate to appease those monsters, having to ignore Anya and her cries of pain as they had their way with her... His mother nursed me back to health. Helped Anya forget what had happened, forget how... how they treated her. How could I not give a half-witch half-wolf the title of Beta? I knew with time his powers would strengthen, I knew the teachings of his mother would only better my pack.
"Alpha, Victor." A dissatisfied voice called from my door, I opened it surprised to find Domini.
"Domini?"
He had a deep frown set on his face, he didn't want to be here but looked past me obviously searching for Laura.
"She's not here." I responded gruffly, I had to again remind myself that he was not in competition with me for her love.
He rolled his eyes at my tone picking up my jealously.
"Right, well. I just wanted to inform you... Formally... that well, I am coming with you."
I attempted to hide my disdain but he caught it quickly explaining himself.
"Look, I made a promise a long time ago that I would do everything to protect her. I love her. She is the closest thing I have to family now. And I am not going to let her go somewhere she really doesn't want to go by herself, besides. I have had just enough of Alpha Clide."
I raised my eyebrow as his tone shifted to anger at the mention of Clide, I wondered if he too knew his secrets.
"I'm not asking to be your Beta, I'm not even asking for your permission."
I snarled at that, obvious disrespect. He rolled his eyes again and laughed.
"I don't care for your attempts at showing off, Laura is my Luna and she will want me there. And I know you will never even attempt to harm me, or else you will lose any chance you may think you have to win her heart."
I sighed deeply at that, he was right.
"Fine."
He nodded, satisfied before giving me a harsh warning.
"Alpha, I will tell you this only once. If you ever, ever hurt her. I will kill you."
I did not fear his threat, but I knew he meant it. I could feel the power behind his words and I appreciated the honesty. I gave him a genuine smile before slamming the door. He had indeed won some respect from me, and I was more than happy to have another body around to protect my precious Luna.
I had almost finalized preparations for us all to leave and return home when those hurried, frantic words reached my ears.
"The Luna is dead! She was murdered!"
My heart stopped, my brain stalled as I stood frozen in place. Clide.
"Wait what?" Someone screamed back.
"Luna Ashly!"
Wailing erupted as many began panicking, but I felt instant relief. My Laura was safe. For now.
I ran around desperate to find her, knowing it would be only a short matter of time before she would be taken. I knew who would dare to kill a Luna, there were here for Laura, and wanted to make sure no one would come after her.
"Vivi!" Anya called desperately near the hospital wing, I followed her inside.
When I rounded the corner to see Clide standing over my precious love, covered in blood and bruises I felt my vision turn bright white. My entire body rumbled with hot animalistic rage, I was clouded by the need to kill him for his sins. I pounced, unaware I had shifted crashing him into the opposing room. I snarled as he attempted to push me off him, his face terrified. I allowed him to huddle in the corner of the room, enjoying the fear seeping off his body. The rush at knowing he was going to die, that I was going to make it as painful as possible.
"Victor." Anya scolded me, as I gave her a warning growl.
I did not want to harm her but I couldn't allow her to take away this deserved kill, not again.
"Victor, stop. You know this is what he wants."
I growled again not taking my eyes off of my prey.
"We aren't ready for war."
She was right, yet I couldn't and wouldn't let him live for this.
"Be done with it!" Clide screamed at me.
Gladly, I thought pouncing onto him my jaw was about to connect with his neck.
"Alpha! No!" Dimitri called, cold as stone.
I felt my body lift into the air and get pulled back, I turned to Dimitri shocked he would use his powers against me.
"I can not let you act in this way, your mind is clouded."
I snarled as he rolled his eyes at me.
Clide began laughing maniacally as I felt a sense of disgust roll over me. The room I had pushed him in, was Ashlys. Somehow the cloth that had covered her had been pulled back, her corpse lay bear.
"Why did you do this to me?" He asked tearfully before shaking her body.
"How could you? YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO BE MINE!"
I felt myself shift back against my will as Dimitri grunted under the immense pressure it took.
"You always choose her! It was always her! Even over our own son! You still choose that b*tch! SHE REJECTED YOU! SHE MARRIED ANOTHER!"
I tried to fight against Dimitri's power, and yet I couldn't. I felt an odd sense of pride in him, that he could fight an Alpha.
"I had to do it! I HAD TO! Forgive me!" He wailed and wept before a cold, almost dead voice caught my attention.
"Clide. That is enough. She's gone."
Herman, their pack doctor stood emotionless before approaching him. Clide wailed more, attempting to hit Herman.
"Clide. No more." He practically hissed as Clide's eyes seemed to re-focus.
A deeper fear than I had ever seen pass over his face.
"Her... Herman..." he stuttered as the doctor pushed him down to the floor so he could inspect the late Luna.
"What did you do Clide... What have you done..."
"I didn't! It was her!"
"Stop this Clide! Laura was nowhere near here and you know it!"
"NO! SHE KILLED HER! IT"S HER FAULT!"
"Alpha Victor we need to leave," Dimitri grunted before Anya whispered softly.
"Laura, she needs to be seen over."
Herman gave me a strange look "no need, I will see to her shortly. I'm afraid that most of you will need to leave, I fear our dear Clide has lost his mind."
I was unnerved by his cold demeanor and how easily he was able to dismiss Clide's title. This man was no wolf.
Ellen led the way through the packhouse, Bella at my rear. It was so surreal. I felt empty looking at each area as memories of my life passed by. Thankfully it was the dead of night so no one else was wandering around. I still couldn’t believe everything that had happened to me so quickly, how fast things had changed. I kind of wished that I could go back, warn myself of Xander’s intentions, tell myself to be kinder to Ashly. As we walked out the large wooden front doors I felt myself inhale deeply, pausing to look at the packhouse one last time. Giving myself just that moment to mourn, mourn the person I used to be. “Luna?” Bella whispered nervously, she was darting around as if frightened we were to be attacked. I closed my eyes and said my goodbyes to the place that I had thought was my home for so long, my heart hurt thinking about never seeing this place again. “Laura. We have to go.” Ellen barked, I opened my eyes to see the same mourning look in
“What about your eye?” I asked Ellen, she looked at me with shame. “Ah. Well, it seems the forest wanted to keep a piece of me…” Both Bella and I gasped as Ellen pulled up her right eyelid, showing just flesh left. “It’s okay, it doesn’t really hurt. Thanks to the wolf blood I think it’s already basically healed. Guess I was lucky the tree pulled it out…” “Ellen…” I stammered not sure what to say, she just shrugged before turning to collect the bag she had thrown. Forcing me to remember that needle. “Ellen, what did you inject me with?” Ellen’s body stiffened as she stopped moving, Bella sharing my curious expression. She turned and gave us both a nervous smile. “Ah, just something Doctor Herman gave me… to calm you down…” I frowned at how she seemed to almost dodge the question, I knew she was holding something back. “Ellen…” I breathed with a tinge of agitation, why would she be keeping something from me?
The room was oddly silent as the strange men brought in two chairs from outside the room and sitting on them staring at us. Stacy gave them a suspicious look before turning her attention back to us.“Okay, so. You are refusing to take an x-ray, at least allow me to give you something for the pain and maybe a new sling?”Bella smiled as I felt reassured at her kindness, she nodded and Stacy returned my smile. After Bella was taken care of Stacy focused on me.“Okay, so I know that you probably don’t have any physical wounds but we do have a psychologist on staff to talk to… about… what happened at home.” She spoke carefully, her eyes darting to the men as she spoke.I felt a little better knowing that Stacy seemed to not trust these men, from child protective services. Something about them just seemed off, I wasn’t sure if it was due to the red-haired man’s staring or the other’s strange
I felt powerless as one of them lifted my paralyzed body off the ground. Honestly, I wished I had been knocked out, being mentally aware was sickening. My heart fluttered for a moment remembering the number of people that were here, surely one of them would see this and do something? I couldn’t believe that the human world would allow this! Although, what did I even know about this world? I barely knew anything about my own world. “She’s heavier than she looks” Monty gasped as he flung me across his shoulder, I heard Simon chuckle dryly. “As she should be, she’s grown so much…” His tone almost seemed pained. “The last time I saw her, she was so small… so innocent…” He sighed deeply. “I wish… I wish things were different.” He finished softly before both of them fell silent. So, he was my apparent uncle. I guess that made sense, but… But why would he seemingly kidnap us? Why wouldn’t he just talk to me? Whatever his reason was, it surely could have just
Hello everyone! As mentioned previously, this is a free chapter in Victor's P.O.V :) Please remember these will be every 5th chapter. Victors P.O.V I stared blankly forwards as we walked out of the packhouse, fighting against my own self not to stay and protect her. My love, my mate. Dimitri was right, we needed to leave, but we really had to leave without her? “Alpha, please.” Dimitri almost commanded as I stopped moving, staring back at Clide’s packhouse, arguing with myself to not run back in and take her with us. “Alpha Victor. We need to go, you know she will be safe.” I growled glaring at my Beta. “And how can you of all people trust his word? Trust that she will not be harmed? Look at What Clide has done? Can you believe Herman?” “Yes,” Dimitri responded without missing a beat, his eyes glued to mine. I knew he wasn’t lying, he truly believed in the man. “What is he?” I demanded as Di
Hello dear readers! So, I am starting to hesitate with this story as we are closely approaching 100k words and I feel like we are only about halfway through Laura's journey. So, can I get a show of hands-on who would prefer I just keep going even if the book gets to 100k plus words or break this down into 2 books? My thinking is that I add an authors note a the end of 'book' 1 so to speak and re-write the synopsis to advise any new readers that it will be 2 books in one. Alternatively, the other idea I had was to just have a longer book, but I don't want the length to scare off new readers. Thanks in advance! :)
My heart was racing in joy as I felt Victor scoop me up into his arms, his own heartbeat matching my own.“My love.” He whispered into my ear, his tone a mix of joy and bitterness. “I’m sorry I left you, never again will I.”If I could smile I would be grinning from ear to ear, in that moment I thought perhaps this was the feeling. The mate bond.“Let’s get her back” Domini said gruffly as my heart sunk, he sounded hurt and I knew why.I tried to move my lips, to tell them that Ellen and Bella were back at the human hospital but I still couldn’t move.“Do… do you think…” Domini started to ask but stopped himself sighing deeply. “Anya, let’s see if we can track them.”Anya was sobbing still, I didn’t hear her speak but hear two sets of footsteps walk away.“My Laura… don’t you worry, they will pay.”Vi
Victor placed me down on what I could only assume was his own bed. It was heavenly, soft than the ones back at Slate pack. I felt myself fall into the soft, comforting, and safe embrace giving in to the urge to sleep. I woke up, excited as I was able to actually open my eyes. I felt overwhelmed as I glanced around Victor’s room. It was devoid of color, devoid of any memories or anything that would make it his. The walls, furniture, and curtains were all different shades of grey, perhaps I had been incorrect in assuming he put me in his room? “Luna.” A happy Dimitri sat next to the bed, giving me a smile that seemed forced. “What…? Umm… Where am I?” He squinted his eyes as his smile dropped, “at Crimson pack, in your room?” I ignored his bewildered tone “no, like… I…” I sighed frustrated at myself “is this Victor’s room?” He smirked “why? Would you prefer that?” I felt my face redden as I looked away slightly annoyed at his teas
