I remained silent, but wrapped my arms around his neck to let him know that I had heard him. Shifting my hips slightly, I froze when I felt a tug from where our bodies were still joined.
Ezra shivered and gripped the pillow tighter.
When I moved again, I still felt it which made it clear that I wasn’t imagining things.
I thought back to last night with Obsidian, he always pulled out of me before he came.
Panic hit, even though I tried to push it down. I slid my hands to the front of his chest and pushed. All Ezra did was lift his chest a little. I tried to buck him off next, but froze when sharp teeth gripped my shoulder.
I held my breath and waited.
A few seconds passed before his grip loosened. Ezra raised his head and blinked down at me.
His eyes had not only changed colour, but shape too. He was staring down at me with golden cat eyes. I swallowed. His lips parted to reveal the sharp tips of his fangs and a red stain on one tip. He licked the blood and gave me a small, apologetic smile.
“I broke skin,” he muttered. “I—”
“Ezra,” I interrupted as calmly as I could. “W-what… um… you’re stuck inside m-me.”
He blinked at me. “Stuck… oh!” The confusion cleared from his face. “We are locked together until the… swelling goes down.”
I swallowed. “S-swelling?”
Ezra’s smile faded and anger filled his eyes. The way his eyes changed colour with emotion intrigued me—it was something I’d never really noticed before.
“Our DNA’s mixed, sugarplum. We’re only part human, but the biggest part of us is animal, so we have a few… flaws. Our shafts swell when we ejaculate to lock us to the female.” He frowned at me. “I thought you knew about it since you’ve had sex with Obsidian.”
“I didn’t know.” I relaxed. “Obsidian pulled out before he came.”
Ezra growled. “He should be more considerate of your feelings.”
“I don’t want to talk about him,” I whispered.
My eyes dropped to Ezra’s chest where my hands still rested. I dragged my nails lightly over his skin and smiled when he sucked in a sharp breath. One nail brushed over his nipple, making his dick jerk. My eyes snapped up to his in surprise. Is he still hard?
“You just swell, right?” I questioned as thoughts flashed in and out of my mind. “You don’t have needles and shit, right?”
“Well…” he trailed off with a grimace.
“Oh God. You do have needles on your dick, don’t you?”
He hesitated and then nodded. “Just small spikes. It will only hurt if you try to force me out of your body.” He paused. “And don’t fight me.”
“Why?”
I have spikes stuck in my pussy. His dick had spikes.
“It makes our aggression levels rise,” he answered.
“Oh,” I breathed.
Ezra was watching me silently. He was probably waiting for me to go crazy.
I swallowed again and slid my hands up to grip his shoulders. If I didn’t think about it, then I won’t freak out about it.
“I have another question,” I said softly.
“I’m sorry,” he apologized again before I could ask him. “I didn’t mean for it to go like that. But when I entered you…” he trailed off with a little shiver and a wry smile.
I returned his smile. I couldn’t blame the guy, it was his first time.
“I’m not angry at you or anything. You lasted longer than I expected.”
Way longer than Bobby had lasted the first time we had sex in the back of his truck.
I played with the strands of his hair at the nape of his neck.
“You didn’t come.” Ezra reached up and brushed his fingertips along my jaw. “I’m really sorry.”
“You can make it up to me.”
“I will.”
His lips curled up into a wicked smile as he slowly sat up on his knees. His hands slowly slid down my sides to my hips where he gripped me firmly.
“Tell me if I hurt you.”
His words confused me, but the confusion cleared when he started moving again.
We were still locked together, and I could feel it by the slight pull inside my pussy, but it wasn’t painful at all.
It felt good.
Moaning, I licked my finger and then reached between my legs to rub my clit as Ezra watched my hand with interest.

I blinked at my reflection in the mirror above the basin.
We had fallen asleep shortly after the second round. My full bladder had unfortunately forced me from bed, and my mind only woke up as I sat on the toilet. My father’s words repeated over and over in my mind as I stared at my reflection. I shook my head before I turned away.
My father had to be wrong. His sources had to be wrong.
Biting my lip, I entered the bedroom again and walked over to the discarded clothing on the floor. The first thing I picked up happened to be Ezra’s shirt. After only hesitating for a second, I pulled it on and turned to stare at him.
Ezra was stretched out on his stomach, one arm under the pillow and the other hanging off the bed.
Smiling, I looked my fill, then turned and headed out of the bedroom. It was deadly silent, which had me wondering if Devrim and Obsidian had returned yet.
The kitchen was my destination, but when I walked past the hall, I spotted the light on in one of the rooms. There were three doors, one led to the basement, one to Devrim’s office, and another one to a small bathroom.
I changed direction, but paused halfway there.
What if it’s Obsidian in that room? I wasn’t ready to face him yet.
But it wasn’t Obsidian I found in the room.
Crossing my arms over my chest, I leaned against the door frame and watched Devrim. He was sitting behind the big, dark wooden desk, reading what looked like hand-written letters.
He was dressed which was a bit unusual. They mostly walked around in gym shorts, with the exception of Obsidian, of course. He was always dressed from head to toe.
I jumped when he suddenly slammed his fist down on the desk and growled. Devrim threw the papers away next, jumped to his feet, and swiped an arm across the desk, knocking everything to the floor.
He raised his head as he turned and froze when our eyes locked.
“Vanya,” he growled. “What are you doing up?”
I swallowed a few times before I straightened and took a step towards him. “I just wanted to get a glass of water.”
His nose twitched. “And Ezra?”
“He’s sleeping.”
Devrim nodded and bent down to pick up the papers that he had thrown away. My eyes darted over the floor. I spotted a few pages by the edge of the desk.
I collected them and then straightened. Curiosity was something that I couldn’t get rid of, and something that had gotten me in trouble a lot when I was little. My eyes darted over the paper.
“What the hell are you doing?” Devrim snarled as he ripped the papers from my hand. “Is this why you came here? To fucking snoop?”
“N-No, I—”
“Get out,” he yelled, pointing towards the door.
I blinked, shocked at his sudden show of temper. In all the weeks I’d known him, he never once yelled at me.
“I said get the fuck out, Vanya!”
Devrim stepped towards me, making me flinch. He looked like he was ready to tear me to pieces.
“Get out!”
When he reached for me, I moved. Spinning on my heels, I ran out of the room and up the stairs, right into my bedroom. Only when the door was closed behind me, and a few minutes passed without him knocking, did I allow the air to fall from my lungs.
I blinked away the tears.
Maybe my father had been right all along. After all, you couldn’t tame a wild animal.
He is defenceless. I could easily hurt him. To be honest, I had considered it, but then Devrim’s words flashed through my mind and pulled me out of my disturbing thoughts.Devrim had been right. But it didn’t make me fear Obsidian less.I sat in the chair a few feet from the bed, staring at the door as I waited for Devrim to return. Every passing second that he was away made my mind race with things that could go wrong.Darkness was creeping in on me, and I had no idea how to handle it.A whimper from the bed made my eyes snap over to it.Obsidian was on his stomach, clutching the pillow beneath his head as his big body trembled. The whimpers changed into growls that made my skin break out in goosebumps. The room suddenly fell silent again, but it didn’t last long.Rolling onto his back, Obsidian clutched at the sheets as his whimpers started up again. It got louder and louder.Tears filled my eyes.It sounded like he was in pain. What am I supposed to do? My eyes darted over to the
I think I’m going to pass out. After everything that had happened, I never thought that I would be returning to the cabin. My steps faltered when we reached the front door. Oblivious to my hesitation, Devrim opened the door and entered. As he turned to close it, his eyes locked on me. “Vanya?”When he told me that Obsidian was sick, the concern I felt had me agreeing to go with him, but standing outside the house made me second guess myself.I was about to face the man who had attacked me, the man who haunted my dreams, and not in a good way.Swallowing, I took a step forward, but my muscles tensed, preventing me from moving.“What’s wrong?” Devrim asked as he walked over to me. “You’ve gone pale.”“I…” My words trailed off when movement behind him caught my attention. My knees weakened when a wave of fear hit me. I wasn’t ready to see him yet!Panic hit next.If Devrim hadn’t grabbed hold of my arms, I would have run away.“Rosebud—”“I don’t want to see him,” I blurted.“Please, Va
What are monsters? The imaginary creatures we were sure hid under our beds? Were they the creatures that the authors and filmmakers created? Maybe the stories told to scare us were monsters in their own way? Or maybe the adults who told us those stories were the real monsters?A monster was cruel and evil.A monster was someone who found joy in hurting others. Like those men who hid in the shadows, waiting for a woman or man to come along. A monster was someone who killed without a second thought.I sniffed and reached up to wipe the tears from my cheeks. No matter how much I tried, I couldn’t pull my eyes away from the group of kids in the alley below me. I had spotted them the moment they entered. One of them had pulled out a knife and was busy dissecting a dead animal. Are they monsters? The moment the kid had pulled out the knife, I had thought of Obsidian, and then my mind had trailed to Devrim and Ezra.I hadn’t seen them in weeks. As soon as the doctor had given me a clean bil
“Get the fuck out!” Ezra sneered.I ignored him and made my way over to the bed, but he stepped in front of me and flashed his teeth. I growled at him, but he didn’t even flinch. My eyes narrowed and my fists clenched at my sides.“You’re not allowed in here,” he hissed.“I’m here to talk to Vanya,” I told him.He growled. “She doesn’t want to talk to you.”My eyes shot over his shoulder to her. Her head was bent, her hands clutching at the sheet. I sucked in a deep breath and closed my eyes. The sweet smell of her fear filled the room. She’s scared of me. “Vanya?”Her body jerked as if I’d struck her. Slowly, she raised her head, but she couldn’t look me in the eyes. Her eyes briefly glanced in my direction, then instantly lowered again. What little colour she had in her cheeks when I arrived was now gone.“Get out,” Ezra growled. “She doesn’t want to talk to you.”My eyes snap back to his. “I’m talking to her and not to you.”“She doesn’t want to fucking talk to you! What made you
There was no annoying beeping filling my ears. No machines attached to every possible inch of my body. Everything was silent which made me feel like I was alone, but I knew I wasn’t, because I could feel the comforting weight of another hand on mine.I wasn’t dead.I wasn’t alone. But I was in pain. The constant throbbing of my shoulder and the feeling of fire ants crawling all over my body was pulling me from my sleep.I didn’t want to wake up, because in my dreams, everything was okay. In my dreams, Obsidian was smiling at me, and Ezra had accepted the fact that Obsidian and Devrim loved each other. In my dreams, everything was perfect. But dreams only lasted so long before reality started creeping in and everything crumbled and the real world showed its ugly face.A soft sigh reached my ears, followed by the sound of a chair creaking. The weight on my hand disappeared, making emptiness fill me.I had fucked up and now I was all alone.“I know you’re awake, sugarplum.”I hesitated
It was all part of his plan.If Vanya died, I would be blamed for it. They’d kill me and every other pride member on the island. The humans would be turned against us by Reeves, because he was powerful enough to accomplish that.I knew he had been watching us. I knew he had seen me attacking Vanya.Small cameras had been set up in the corners. The entrance and exit had also been revealed numerous times when he entered and left. The gas he had used to knock me out in order to move me was something they had used in the facility. What was really worrying was the fact that he somehow got hold of the gas in the first place and that he knew so much about me.My eyes darted to one of the small vents I had seen hidden slightly from the human eye. It was how he was planning on knocking me out again.I was just waiting for the right time to strike. I paced back and forth next to Vanya’s unconscious body. Stopping, I licked at the deep wounds on her upper arms. A shudder raced through my body an
