Sabrina recalled the doctor's words as she sat at the table, smiling at their guests, who were present to celebrate her wedding anniversary with her and her husband. "Where is Craig?" Hearing that, Sabrina turned to her cousin, her eyes slowly darting around the tables as if also in search of her husband. Clearing her throat awkwardly, she said, “He'll be here soon.” “You said that two hours ago.” Luna cocked a brow. At least that's what Craig told her when she called. Without hesitating, she excused herself, and walked out of the dinning with a smile on her face. She dialed Craig's number again but he wasn't picking up. Their anniversary dinner started at 7pm, and now, it's past ten! He promised to be back early for this, but suddenly she was left to attend and entertain the guest all by herself. Her face flushed with embarrassment as she stared down at her family. Beep! As soon as she picked up her phone, she said a text popped in. {I'm here, honey, where are you?} Sabrina heaved a deep sigh of relief before opening the drawer and pulling out a pregnancy test report. After Craig left for the office, she had gone to the hospital because she was running a temperature. She thought she had a fever, but the doctor told her she was pregnant. They've been married for four years, and now? She was finally going to have a child! She giggled and held the report to her chest with a satisfied smile before walking out the door. Though their marriage wasn't public, and was known only by both families, she believes with this child, Craig will see no reason to hold back their marriage to the world! She couldn't wait to see his reaction when she finally breaks the news to him! Soon, she walks into the dining room and walks straight to Craig, hugging him with a warm smile. “Traffic, Sabrina.” Craig said immediately. Sabrina shrugs. “The good thing is that you're here.” She grinned, “I've got a surprise announcement for everyone present. For us.” She remarks, holding the report in her hands with so much excitement. “Is that so? Then tell us.” Craig tells her, his expression unreadable. “Take a look.” She raised the test report, “After so long, you're gonna be a–” “I know I'll find you here!” A voice in the crowd was heard, cutting Sabrina short before she could even make her announcement. Craig raised his head and was suddenly frozen to the spot that he slowly took Sabrina's hands that were wrapped around his neck down. “C-Craig?” Sabrina stuttered, her eyes studying him. Her heart pounded loudly in her chest as she watched his face turn white, his eyes fixed in a particular direction, the entrance. Her body trembled slightly as she followed the line of his gaze and her head buzzed. Her palm turned cold as her eyes stung with warm tears. Just then, the dining room erupted into a low murmur. “What the heck! It's Emily!” Luna exclaimed, her mouth left wide open. Her words seemed to have an effect on Craig as he bit his lower lip, his eyes filled with desperation. Emily was still standing at the entrance, dressed in an evening red armless gown, her hair packed in a ponytail and her big breasts almost popping out. Her features were alluring and her elegance were unmatched. “E..Emily…” As she took a step forward, Sabrina heard Craig's voice. Before she could say a word, Craig pushed her to the side, taking several steps forward Emily, leaving Sabrina, whose report fell from her hand. “Are you okay?” Luna quickly helped Sabrina as Craig tossed her aside. Sabrina tried to hold her tears in as her eyes fell on Emily, pressing her chest against Craig, hugging him so tight like her life depended on it. And Craig did the same. He kissed her forehead, wrapping his hands around her with his eyes closed like she was some long lost treasure he just found. Her vision became blurry due to the tears that welled up in her eyes. She stood there like a stuffed doll, watching her husband press his lips against her stepsister like she was the main character. Her heart broke into a million pieces as Craig smiled at her and they both laughed in between kisses while he grabbed her waist. She thought his obsession for his ex died a long time ago, but seeing how passionate he kissed her in front of the crowd? Her legs almost gave up on her! Cameras flashed across their angle, and slowly, Sabrina heard the whispers in the air. “I can't believe my eyes! Isn't that the famous Emily Lawson?!” “She’s also Mr. Craig Gibson's girlfriend!” “Girlfriend?! Shit! That's right! They never broke up!” “Lord! She looks absolutely stunning! Jeez! Mr. Gibson is all over her! I think they need a room!” “Their chemistry is unmatched! They look perfect! But isn't it a shame he's kissing his girlfriend in front of his wife? On their anniversary dinner?” Sabrina felt her legs almost giving up on her. Craig's cousin's discussions stirred up her emotions. He didn't even have the decency to acknowledge her presence! “Hey! No cameras!” Craig barked at the people flashing their cameras as he used his hand in shielding Emily. “I'll take you to your room.” Luna tells Sabrina, but she shakes her head, taking a step forward. “Don't!” Luna stopped her from going over to Craig. Before Sabrina could protest, Craig carried Emily in a bridal-style and made his way outside without even caring to look back at her. Sabrina felt her world stopped. She took that walk of shame over to the window, looking out as Craig gently placed his ex-girlfriend in the car before driving out of the place. “Sabrina, my dear.” Hearing her father's voice behind her, she wiped her uncontrollable tears, “Not now, dad…” Then she walked past the crowd, running upstairs and shutting the door behind her. “Let her be.” Luna tells her uncle. After all, this is Sabrina's house. Besides, their father has always been on Emily’s side. With a painful emotion, Sabrina crashed to the ground, her head spinning with so much bitterness. At 2am that night, Sabrina heard a voice at her door, “You should go to sleep. You've been crying all night.” “Go home Luna… I'm waiting for my husband.” Sabrina cried. She never left the spot she had been crying and it seems Luna didn't leave along with the other guests. “But It's pass 2.” “I can't just sleep when my husband isn't back yet. I'll only sleep when he's back. I know he's coming back to me… especially since I haven't revealed my announcement to him.” Sabrina whimpered, her face wet from her tears. She refused to believe that Craig would leave her to spend the night with his ex-girlfriend like their anniversary or announcement meant nothing to him. “Don’t lie to yourself because it makes you feel better. Whatever you have to say to him can wait.” Luna said, pushing the door closely. It was good she convinced everyone she could handle this, especially since Sabrina's father insisted on handling this. The next morning… Sabrina walked over to the door as soon as she heard the knock. As soon as she opened the door, the smile on her face faded. She had run so fast to the door, thinking Craig was finally here for her until her gaze landed on Emily, who had several suitcases beside her. “Hello. If you're not the maid, I guess you're Craig's wife?” Emily stretched her hands out, “I'm Emily, nice to finally meet you.” Sabrina studied her for a moment, “Is this a show?” They literally grew up together! Emily is her stepsister, and acting all formal with her?! “Oh, forgive me… for a second, I couldn't recognise you. You look fat compared to years back. But thanks for taking care of Craig in the past four years…” She shrugs without a trace of remorse on her, “I'm back now, so you don't have to.” She placed her hands on her suitcase with a friendly smile. Sabrina smiled bitterly. Emily's words made it seem like she had been Craig's nanny and her duties were over. “You don't have to thank me for taking care of my own… I mean my ‘personal’ husband..” She emphasized. Emily smiled gently, “Could you help with these suitcases…they are so heavy…” “Where is Craig?” Sabrina asked. “Help me move in first, I'll tell you.” Sabrina hesitated. But the suitcases could belong to Craig, so she lowered herself to help. However, before she could lift the black suitcase, Emily suddenly slipped. She hit her head in the process and just then, thick blood started rolling down her chin, causing her to cry in pain. “Ah! Do you hate me that much?!” Emily cried as more blood trickled down her face. Perplexed, Sabrina asked, “What are you talking about?” “Somebody help!!” Emily screamed, her voice filled with fear. “Emily?!” Before Sabrina could process what was happening, a car stopped in front of them and Craig dashed out, rushing over to Emily!“That voice.” Craig muttered. His eyes never left the young woman's body, not even for once. As she walked into the crowd, shaking hands with the company's clients and big associates, Craig found himself unable to get his eyes off of her. Her tone, her skin… there was no difference in Sabrina and this Rosa lady..if that's even her real name. This woman has to be his wife! He knows that voice! He knows that face! He knows those innocent hazel eyes! Emily clenched her fist, her eyes darting from Ms. Rosa to Craig, whose eyes were still on her. She noticed the slight frown on his face when a tall white young man joined her, holding her waist as the music was played and they started dancing slowly to the background sound. The man with her was none other than Harold Guidotti, son of the CEO of Guidotti Empire. He was a tall muscular man with green eyes and a black neatly cut hair who was in his early 30s. Dressed in a navy blue suit, the charming young man smiled, glaring cheer
Sabrina walked out of her car, slowly walking towards Luna's apartment, her hands trembling and her body cold. She still can't wrap her head over the fact that she had signed the divorce agreement, and left her home for her stepsister. Of course she couldn't go to my family, they will always support her stepsister, especially her stepmother. Her marriage was a mistake and it took her two days of pain to see the truth that Craig never belonged to her and she only lived in the shadows of her stepsister. “I'm so sorry.” Luna hugged her as soon as she opened the door. “I'll be by your side no matter what decision you make.” She comforted Sabrina, who whimpered, crying her eyes out in pain. “I booked my tickets on my way here.” Sabrina cried. “That means you've signed the divorce papers? Omg! You're leaving the country?” Luna gasped, urging her cousin to come in. ~ Six years later. An international flight from France landed in Monroe City. Her PA dragged her luggage behind
He held her in his hands and tried to nurture the bruise on her, his eyes darkened and a frown settled on his face. “You…you..didn't tell me your wife hates me this much…” At that instant, Craig raised his head at Sabrina, his eyes burning with cold fire. Sabrina creased her brows, shaking her head as if to defend herself. “Craig, I promise, I never…” “Save me the pretense!” He barked, not willing to listen to the lies she had to say. “But…but…” “Fuck off!” He barked coldly into her face, brushing past her as he carried Emily over to his car. Sabrina on the other fell on the suitcases after that push that her head was hit brutally. But that had no effect on her… Her husband picking his ex's side over hers felt like a knife in her chest! In less than two hours, Emily's wounds were attended to and her head was bandaged. And now, Craig was driving them back. “I'm sorry you had to go through this. I don’t know what came over my wife.” When Emily insisted on taking her suitca
