WHO'S THE CAPTAIN?

Pearl's POV.

This wasn't me. From when I started playing in the second half, something or someone took over my body entirely.

First of all, I was a bad shooter, I couldn't score points, yet I was doing it as easily as eating while playing against Lilith. Not only that, I used three out of the six Alpha techniques.

'How come?' I pondered, lost as I made my way out of the field, oblivious to the cheers going around. It was then that I noticed that some students in the school had come to watch the match.

"OMG! I never knew she was such a pro."

"I know right. She defeated the prodigy, Lilith Ashbourne. I heard no other female has ever had such an honour."

I almost laughed at those words. Defeat? I didn't defeat her; it was a fucking tie, but it was still enough to crush her.

Whispers began to flow around and despite the pride swelling in my head, I was still confused about what had just happened.

    Jaxton's POV."We are not postponing this match," Pearl told me as she disengaged from the hug."But y.." I tried saying when she placed her finger on my lips."Shush, I will be fine." She smiled. "Thank you for the concern."I had no choice but to nod, watching as she left me and began running towards the field. Director Alex was in the court, the ball rolling on his middle finger as Lilith smirked."Ready to lose again?" She taunted and I felt rage burning in my veins. She had no right to try to bully Pearl again. I wanted to barge over but my wolf, Jeremy, stopped me in my tracks."Don't hurt Mate." He growled and my jaw tightened as I tried to get control back."I suggest you stop running your mouth or your disgrace would just be bigger." Pearl grinned as Director Alex tossed the ball into the air.     Pearl's POV."Damn!" Director Alex exclaimed, the side of his lips curling in satisfaction as he walked out of the field.I stood there, stunned. How was she so fast?"Pearl, Get her." I clenched my fists and dashed after Lilith who was about to score another point when I jumped and pushed the ball out of her hands.But before I could land back on my feet, she already grabbed the ball again and scored yet another.The ball bounced and I hurriedly dashed towards it but then, mist appeared out of nowhere and I tried navigating but they soon disappeared and I saw Lilith was already back at the court, slamming the ball into the basket hard.Lilith was a Beta wolf at rank and she just used her greatest technique.     Pearl's POV.This couldn't be happening. I began to breathe heavily, my hands trembling, the phone almost slipping off the floor. "Pearl, get a grip on yourself." Magnus snapped, grabbing me by the shoulders, while Jaxton went towards my bed and saw the bag of snacks on my desk.He grabbed the half-finished juice box, opened it, and sniffed the contents."Who gave you this?" He asked."I d-don't know," I replied as I released myself from Magnus' hold to dash into my closet."And you drank it? It's been drugged with sleeping pills." Jaxton half-yelled from my room and I froze."Now it all makes sense," Magnus said and I ran out of the closet to grab the juice from Jaxon."What do you need it for?" He questioned but I ignored him and looked inside well to see some whitish substance swimming about.The juice fell to the ground, splattering and Magnus immediately grabbed a mop to clean the mess.I was drugged?
