He killed me five days before our wedding. Calling me useless and wolfless I returned as his father's bride. His stepmother. I gave Tristan everything. My loyalty, my wolf, my entire life built around becoming his Luna. He repaid me by burying me and marrying my sister. He should have made sure I stayed dead. Now I stand beside the one man he fears most in this world.

Chapter 1

Betrayed

"Ma'am, congratulations for securing another contract and pack alliance again," Clara said as she walked beside Genevieve.

Genevieve let out a smile before entering her office. She walked directly to the fridge and took a bottle of water. After drinking it, she sighed before facing Clara.

"Where's Tristan?" she asked.

"Oh, the Alpha left. He left a letter for you, it's on your table."

She nodded before making her way to the table. She picked up the letter and smiled.

"Don't work too much today, my love. Make sure you go home on time. Don't bother coming to see me. I left for an urgent work out of town and will be back tomorrow." The letter read.

"Clara, do I still have any work today?" Genevieve asked before sitting down.

"No ma'am, the last thing on the list is for you to go for your bridal fitting, which would be in the next 30 minutes. You can rest, I'll go order something for you to eat," Clara said.

Genevieve nodded before Clara walked out.

Tristan was supposed to come to the bridal fitting with her, she thought. In 5 days it would be her wedding to him. After so many years of waiting and dreaming, finally she'll get to spend the rest of her life with the man she loved.

It's fine, Genny. He must have had urgent work that made him forget the fitting was today. Just because he missed it doesn't change anything. Tristan loves me, that I know about. Even when everyone mocked me, said shitty things about me, he always stood up for me, she thought.

In a world most dominated by werewolves, she was a wolfless girl, but still, no matter how many people, the pack elders were against his marriage, still he stood by her. Tristan was the future Alpha of the pack and everyone was scared, they couldn't let a wolfless girl be their future Luna. But Tristan never cared about that.

"Ma'am, I'm back," Clara said, dropping a tray in front of her, making her snap out of her thoughts. She smiled.

"Thank you, Clara," she said.

Her phone rang and it was Ivy, her sister. She was also supposed to accompany her for her bridal fitting today. She picked up the call.

"Ivy, are you ready? I'll come pick you up from home."

"I'm sorry, Genny, but something urgent came up. I'm sorry, but I have to disappoint you, I can't attend the bridal fitting with you," Ivy said.

"Oh," Genny muttered.

"I'll make it up to you later, Genny, please I…"

"It's fine, Ivy, I don't mind going with Clara. I'll be fine," Genevieve said.

"Thank you, sister," Ivy said before hanging up.

"Clara, is there a way I can postpone the fitting today?" Genevieve asked.

"I'm sorry ma'am, but you're fully aware that the wedding is just in 5 days and there's no way we can postpone it. We've already shifted it for so long," Clara said.

Genevieve nodded. "Alright then, let them know I'll be there," she said.

The car arrived at the bridal fitting house.

I stepped out of the car before making my way inside.

"Welcome, Genevieve," the mistress said as she approached.

I smiled before hugging her.

"I thought you were gonna miss it today again," Sera said.

I chuckled. "I can't afford to miss it," she replied.

"Seriously, Genny, you should quit stressing yourself. Your wedding is in a few days. What if you fall sick on that day? We won't want that to happen, right?" Sera said.

Genevieve chuckled. Sera has always been a good friend to her, since their high school days till now.

"Don't worry, Sera, I might not have any wolf, but that doesn't mean I'm weak. I have to help Tristan in any way I can, I can't just be a weak future Luna who doesn't serve any purpose at all," she said.

Sera rolled her eyes. "Speaking of Tristan, where is he? He's supposed to be here today," Sera said.

"Is he still on his way?" she added.

"Tristan is busy, Sera, he went out of town, he won't be coming," Genny said.

Sera stared at her. "What's more important than coming with you today? It's just a few hours before he can do anything he wants after that," Sera said.

"Sera, it's fine," she replied.

"Well, I prepared a perfect dress for you, you're going to be the most beautiful bride," she said, leading the way inside.

_____

Genevieve's car drove home. After the fitting she had to attend an urgent business meeting for Tristan since he wasn't available. It was raining heavily and the way to her home was blocked, so she had no choice but to make a turn towards Tristan's apartment. She was going to spend the night there.

Genevieve's car arrived at Tristan's apartment. Everywhere was silent. She unlocked the house before making her way inside. She walked straight to Tristan's room. But she heard strange noises. She didn't know why, but a part of her slowed down and started walking slowly.

Then the voice became clear, it was her sister's voice, Ivy.

"I can't believe the day is finally coming, Tristan," Ivy said.

What's Ivy doing here? She thought as she stood listening to what they were saying.

"After how many years of careful plans, we're one step closer ahead," Tristan said. "He can't escape the wedding, it's going to be his death bed," he added.

Who are they talking about? Genny asked herself, stepping closer.

"Your father won't expect him, but it's high time he steps down from his seat. You should be the Alpha now," Ivy said.

Genevieve stared through the open door and tears couldn't help rolling down her eyes. Her sister and Tristan were naked. Tristan buried himself in her body as his hand fondled her breast.

"You understand me a lot, my love," he said before kissing her and thrusting into her.

Genevieve shook her head. No, this can't be true, she thought. Tristan was supposed to be out of town, he can't possibly be cheating on me with my sister. He loves me and is supposed to marry me in the next 5 days.
