CHAPTER 2: THE COLD LIGHT OF AWAKENING

Gasp!

Vivienne’s lungs expanded in a violent, desperate spasm, dragging in air that didn't taste of sulfur, ash, or pooled blood.

Her back surged off the mattress, muscles locking as the memory of three giant claws tearing through her spine flooded her mind. Her hands clawed blindly at the sheets, searching, reaching, burning with the memory of small fingers slipping away into stillness.

“Mina!” the sob tore from her throat before she could stop it.

“Mama?”

A soft, warm voice murmured beside her. A tiny hand reached out, rubbing against Vivienne’s wrist.

Vivienne exhaled. Slowly, she turned her head.

Mina lay curled under the duvet, wearing her yellow bear-print pajamas. Her dark eyes were half-open, heavy with sleep, her little arms wrapped tightly around her worn stuffed rabbit. Her chest rose and fell in a steady, gentle beat. She was whole. She was breathing. She was alive.

Tears rose to the back of Vivienne’s eyes. She didn't understand how Mina could still be alive when they had both died in the hands of those terrible beasts.

She reached out with trembling fingers, touching her daughter’s soft cheek, checking the crown of her head, pulling her tiny body close against her chest. Mina let out a soft sigh and drifted back to sleep, her head resting right over Vivienne’s beating heart.

Vivienne picked up her phone from the nightstand.

The screen glowed bright in the dim morning light: October 11, 6:30 AM.

She gasped in awe. She has been reborn. She has been given a second chance.

Thirty days.

Thirty days before the moon bled red. Thirty days before the black seam split the sky. Thirty days before the man she had loved for seven years locked her out in the dark to be eaten alive.

DING.

A sound resonated not in the room, but directly inside the center of her skull. It was cold, clear, and perfectly detached.

[BLOOD MOON SYSTEM ACTIVATED]

[Host: Vivienne Hale]

[Apocalypse Countdown: 29 Days, 23 Hours, 57 Minutes]

[Dimensional Storage Unlocked: Infinite Capacity (Temporal Stasis)]

[Awakened Bloodline Abilities:]

1. Sacred Dawn Light (Purges all toxins, fatal wounds, and corruption)

2. Void-Slayer Energy (Lethal damage specialized against Void-beasts)

A faint golden-white light flickered beneath the skin of her right palm, while a sharp, obsidian-black shimmer vibrated across her left fingertips. The powers were there, coiled within her soul like sleeping dragons, waiting for her command.

A cold, quiet calm settled over Vivienne’s heart, extinguishing every last trace of the naive Omega who had bled for a crown that was never hers.

The door to her bedroom rattled and flew open without a knock.

Alpha Dorian Silverbrook stepped into the room, tall, broad-shouldered, radiating his usual arrogant aura of absolute authority. He was wearing his tailored gray suit, his dark hair slicked back, his jaw tight with impatience.

“Vivienne, why aren’t you downstairs?” Dorian snapped, his voice ringing with the heavy expectation of an Alpha used to immediate obedience. “The pack elders are arriving for a council meeting and they need to be served breakfast in twenty minutes. Celeste is taking her morning walk, and her favorite herbal tea hasn't been prepared. You know she has a delicate stomach.”

In her former life, she would have scrambled out of bed instantly. She would have apologized three times before her feet even touched the floor, thrown on the first tunic she could find, and rushed down to the kitchen to boil the water, bake the fresh bread, and make sure Dorian’s suit was pressed to perfection while Celeste smiled condescendingly from the head table.

Vivienne didn't move. She didn't even sit up. She simply rested her arm over Mina, leaning back against the pillows, and looked at Dorian.

Without the veil of love and mate-bond devotion, he didn't look like an Alpha. He looked small. Self-absorbed. A coward dressed in expensive wool.

“Did you hear me?” Dorian’s brows furrowed, a flash of annoyance darkening his golden eyes. He stepped closer to the bed, crossing his arms. “Vivienne, I’m talking to you. What is wrong with you this morning?”

“Nothing is wrong with me, Dorian,” Vivienne said, her voice smooth, light, and completely devoid of emotion.

Dorian blinked, taken aback by the eerie stillness in her tone. Usually, any slight edge in his voice would make her sit up straighter, eager to appease him.

“If nothing is wrong, then get the hell up,” he commanded, letting a subtle vibration of his Alpha tone ripple into the air. “Celeste needs her breakfast, and the house staff needs your directions to carry out their various duties. I don’t have time to stand here waiting while you laze around.”

In her former life, that Alpha tone would have made her knees tremble. Her wolf would have bowed her head, forcing her to yield to her mate's authority without a single word of protest.

Now, the gold aura hit Vivienne’s chest and dissolved like mist against a stone wall. Her awakened wolf didn't cringe; it bared its teeth in silent, dark amusement.

Vivienne let out a soft, amused hum and shifted under the covers, turning her side to him. “Then go boil the water and make Celeste's breakfast yourself, Dorian.”

Dorian’s mouth fell open for a fraction of a second. “What did you just say to me?”

“I said, go make her breakfast yourself,” Vivienne repeated calmly, glancing up at him with dark, clear eyes. “You have two hands, don't you? Or does being an Alpha mean your fingers break if you touch a kettle?”

“Vivienne!” Dorian was clearly stunned, his voice rich with warning. “Mind your tongue. You are speaking to your Alpha. Have you forgotten your place in this pack?”

“My place?” Vivienne gave a quiet, low laugh that chilled the room. “Oh, Dorian. I know exactly where I stand.”

CHAPTER 8: I WANT YOUR HIGH-PEAK VALLEY FARMLAND Vivienne ended the call with the construction director and let out a long, quiet breath. The structural overhaul of Vault Seven was officially underway, scheduled to begin at sunrise."Mama?"A small, soft voice pulled her out of her thoughts. Vivienne looked down to see Mina rubbing her eyes, her small hand tugging gently at her jacket hem."I'm hungry, Mama," Mina murmured, holding her worn stuffed rabbit against her chest. "Can we get something to eat?"Vivienne’s heart melted. She instantly crouched down, smoothing Mina’s dark hair behind her ears, her voice instantly softening into a warm, gentle tone. "Of course, baby girl. Come on, let's go find something delicious."She took Mina's small hand in hers, and together they stepped out of the heavy blast doors of Vault Seven into the quiet, torch-lit stone corridor.Standing right outside, leaning casually against the stone wall with his broad arms crossed over his chest, was Alpha

CHAPTER 7: THE VAULT OF THE FUTUREVivienne didn’t feel intimidated under his intense, probing gaze. She kept her face completely calm, knowing that telling the truth about the sky tearing open, mutant beasts, and a past life where she died in the dark would make her sound like a lunatic."I just need absolute privacy and maximum structural security, Alpha Sterling," Vivienne replied smoothly, her voice steady and composed. "My former Alpha, Dorian Silverbrook, has brought home his mistress to the pack house. I can't stand their show of affection to each other.”“You could simply move out of the pack house, buy a duplex within the pack instead of buying a vault,” Jaxson stared.Vivienne heaved a sigh. “The Silverbrook pack is entirely dependent on traditional pack lands and public networks. I am cutting all ties. I need a secure, subterranean stronghold where my daughter and I can establish an independent base, run our private investments, and operate completely off-grid without Doria

CHAPTER 6: I WANT VAULT 7Four hours later, a sleek black SUV pulled into the subterranean parking complex of The Obsidian Market—a sprawling, lawless neutral zone located beneath the jagged peaks of the Blackridge Mountains. Here, shifters, rogue warlords, and black-market dealers traded in rare relics, enchanted metals, and illegal tactical weaponry outside the jurisdiction of any pack territory.Vivienne walked through the dimly lit stone corridors of the market, holding Mina close to her side. Her system interface flickered softly at the corner of her vision:[SYSTEM SCANNING...][Target Artifact Detected: Moon-Forged Titanium Core][Item Location: Vault 7 - Shadow-Claw TerritoryShe needed that titanium core to reinforce the energy grid of the fortress she was quietly securing for the end of days.As she approached the entrance of Vault 7, four towering guards clad in heavy leather and steel broadswords barred her path. Their eyes glinted with ruthless, feral authority."Hold it,

CHAPTER 5: THE RIFT CONTINUESThat evening, Vivienne returned to the packhouse after picking up Mina. She made sure Mina was well fed, bathed her by herself and after tucking her safely into bed with her stuffed rabbit, Vivienne walked straight into the pack administration office.Donovan, the pack Beta, was hunched over a mountain of paper manifests, looking utterly exhausted."Donovan," Vivienne said softly, leaning against the doorframe.Donovan looked up, rubbing his bloodshot eyes. "Luna... oh, good. Look, Dorian is furious with you about this morning, but right now I don't have time for domestic drama. The quarterly grain supply order from the northern farms is late, and our defense budget is somehow short 200,000 dollars."In her past life, Vivienne would have offered to stay up all night helping Donovan re-check the ledgers out of pity. Donovan was always the workhorse while Dorian took the credit. This time, she used his exhaustion to strike at Dorian's foundation."That's st

  • REBORN BEFORE THE BLOOD MOON    PREPARING FOR THE FUTURE

CHAPTER 4: PREPARING FOR THE FUTURE Leaving Vivienne’s room, Dorian was forced to make the pack staff prepare breakfast for Celeste and the elders. It was obvious to him that Vivienne was up to no good this morning. By the time the breakfast was over, Dorian sat at the head of the long polished oak table, flanked by his Beta, Donovan, and several high-ranking pack elders. Celeste sat gracefully at his right hand, sipping her herbal tea with a quiet, satisfied smile. In her past life, Vivienne would have been hovering nearby, nervously refilling coffee cups, and making sure everyone was comfortable while taking silent glares from Celeste. Not anymore.Vivienne walked down the grand staircase, holding five-year-old Mina securely by the hand. Mina wore a neat little yellow dress, clutching her worn stuffed rabbit in her free arm and blinking sleepily against the morning light. Vivienne was dressed in a sharply tailored navy blazer and black trousers, holding a sleek digital tablet. Her

  • REBORN BEFORE THE BLOOD MOON    YOU'VE LOST YOUR MIND

CHAPTER 3: YOU'VE LOST YOUR MINDDorian stared at her, genuinely puzzled. Something was fundamentally wrong, but he couldn't put his finger on it. The soft, gentle female who spent seven years tip-toeing around his moods, taking his cold shoulder with a weak smile, and pouring her blood into his pack’s survival was looking at him as if he were a bug she wanted to crush.“Is this about yesterday?” Dorian asked, his tone shifting from outrage to irritated condescension. He pinched the bridge of his nose. “Is this because I took Celeste to the council dinner instead of you? I told you, Vivienne, it was just a dinner event. Celeste has never been to such events before and she just wanted to know how it felt like. Besides, you’re an Omega. You don't understand these high-level pack affairs. You belong here, keeping things stable.”In her former life, those words would have carved another bloody wound into her self-esteem. She would have spent the afternoon crying and questioning her worth
