You would think that after I had stopped Carlin from strangling her to death, she would take the hint to stay away from me. Instead, she stood in my makeshift room, offering friendship. “You don’t have to say yes right now,” she added, “I can wait if you want to think about it.” I lifted the tray off my lap, finished with my meal and replaced it on the table. “There is nothing for me to think about, Delilah.
