Zachary’s POV

I walked into the meeting hall. Elders from the general council, pack elders, student representatives, and heads of Bateview were already waiting.

I took a seat facing them, with everyone standing, and staring at me.

I had called this meeting to confront the crisis head-on and present a solution.

“I know this meeting is impromptu and so many of you have other things to do, but this is about the warfare of the pack.” I started, while they listened quietly, with no noise been made.

Daphne’s POVI sat beside Zachary, watching him quietly as he slept. The doctor had checked on him earlier and strictly ordered him to rest. His healing was almost complete, but not entirely. The wolf’s bane had done terrible damage to his system. Forcing it out of his body had taken nearly all his strength.Hillary visited earlier but excused herself after a short while. The elders left soon after. So did Ken.Ken.A wave of guilt settled in my chest when I thought about him. I felt bad for how everything had turned out. I would call him later and apologize. Even though he smiled while saying goodbye, I could tell it wasn’t genuine. It didn’t reach his eyes.Zachary shifted suddenly, drawing my attention back to him. He stirred, then opened his eyes slowly. There was no pain in them anymore. I could feel it.We stared at each other for a long moment before I cleared my throat and looked away.“I see you’re better now,” I muttered. “You should learn to take care of yourself. It took a

Daphne’s POV He tried to sit up - and a strangled groan tore from his throat as his body failed him.Panic shot through me and I shoved him gently back down. This wasn’t a normal injury. Something was wrong - deeply, terrifyingly wrong. Even an Alpha shouldn’t look this close to death. He was burning up, trembling, far too weak for someone who was supposed to be the strongest man in the pack.“Don’t move,” I said. His healing process was taking longer than expected. In fact, it was beginning to get me worried. “You have to go to the hospital.”He gripped my hand and shook his head. “No,” he muttered. “No hospital.”His fingers tightened around mine like I was the only thing keeping him anchored to the world. I bit my lower lip, not knowing what to do. No one was helping. They were just standing, doing nothing.“He is losing a lot of blood,” I called their attention.“The alpha firmly said no. he knows what he is doing. He just need time to heal.”Are they kidding me? Need time? Woul

Daphne POVSomething was wrong with Zachary.I felt it - sharp, violent, like a blade twisting inside my chest. Not fear. Not intuition.A bond screaming in agony. And it was pulling me straight to him.I ran out of the museum when my heart couldn’t take it anymore. Each breath burned like fire. My lungs screamed, my legs trembled - but stopping felt impossible. If I stopped, something terrible would happen. I knew it.I ran into the central hall and straight to the meeting office. His scent was getting stronger the more I go closer.I pushed the door open and went in. And the world shattered.Zachary lay on the floor in a pool of blood - pale, motionless, a knife buried deep in his abdomen while the elders stood around him like silent statues. He was… he was lying... There was blood everywhere. His blood. My knees nearly gave out. This wasn’t an injury. This looked like death waiting to happen.Something indeed happened to him. He was hurt. Someone hurt him.I move back and hit my b

That left a huge hole in the pack. I do admit it; it was because of my negligence,”They began to murmur among themselves until someone yelled. ‘Silence.’I continued, “I am going to set things right again. I will pay for my mistakes. No one would have to be affected because of this.” I will carry the consequences myself.“In what way do you plan

Daphne’s POVI barely slept. Every time I closed my eyes, I saw him. Everything happened so quickly.First, I almost kissed Ken- and that alone felt like betrayal.I don’t know what came over me. I guess my brain was trying to help me get over Zach. But thankfully, I withdrew or that would have been embarrassing and I wouldn’t be able to face him again. But while I drew away from him, I swear I perceived Zachary’s scent. My wolf stirred restlessly inside me, as if recognizing something before I did.Even though it was faint, it was there. Or was my mind messing with me because when I looked around, he was nowhere to be found.I excused myself, going away as quickly as I could, from ken, when I suddenly heard him say something out. When I turned, he wasn’t there anymore. He suddenly vanished, which was strange because his phone was still lying on the bench, and he wouldn’t have disappeared so fast.I went back to where he stood and perceived Zach’s scent strongly. He was there and pro

Eleanor’s POVI pulled over in front of the museum and stepped out of my car.I adjusted my glasses and walked into the museum. They were having an exhibition.I walked in making sure I showed off my expensive diamond-studded bag. I was dressed in a white, fitted gown, showing off my cleavages. My white shoe, glittering under the lights. It was perfect.I was the attention of everyone, like the main art who just walked in. Yes, that’s how it should be. Compared to them, the rest of the room felt dull.Thelma walked to me, wearing a gorgeous smile. Her father is the director of the museum.“Welcome, Miss Eleanor,” she said. “You look so gorgeous.”“I know,” I answered with an eye roll. She doesn’t have to tell me.“Come with me,” she said, gesturing towards the VIP section where the most expensive and rare arts were. Not everyone could go in there.I went with her, and it was a very few people there. Just two men and their wives.I walked to an art, immediately impressed by it. “This
