Chapter 22

Rune's POV.

“Good lord, I have barely started,” I said as I conjured a spell to stop the descent of those books.

It was done on impulse and I didn't even bother.

It was Lyra.

“What the heck are you doing?” I asked impatiently.

My spell was still active with the books still hanging in place mid-air.

She was rather happy to see me.

I wasn't happy that she was here.

What might have brought her in here by this time of the night? especially now as she came in after I had put the librarian to sleep.

“Lyra!, what are you doing here?” I said in a muffled voice. I wanted to pinch her badly.

“What does it look like I am doing here?” She lip sync or at least that was what I could make out of reading her lips.

That response set me off with me raising my hands furiously in the air as I spoke.

“Disrupting the peace, I tell you”

The librarian tossed around in his sleep and I impulsively paused and held my breath.

The room seemed to pause and hold its breath too.
