She escaped

"Who are you?" He asks her the question that even she has no idea of. The same question that she has been asking herself repeatedly. Her heart beats rapidly against her chest as she slowly raises her gaze to meet his. Staring up at him, her fear and nervousness slowly disappear, replaced with anger and hatred. Recalling that the man standing in front of her now was the one that rejected her moments ago, she can't help the anger that strikes her heart again.

"Did you have to kill so many people?" He asks, his voice is hard and scary, but she isn't moved a bit. Because, why should she?

"I feel guilty for what I did, Lorenzo..." She stops and manages to stand up to her feet. The corner of her lips slowly twitches into a smirk as she glares hard at her. At this point, it feels like she's not scared of whatever comes out of this. Why the hell should she care? He already ruined her, he has taken away her happiness, so what's there to care about again?

"I feel guilty because of the innocent werewolves that lost their lives to the betrayal and brutality of their heartless and weak leader that couldn't even protect them," She whispers.

"Iris!" He calls sternly, as he slowly clenches his fists beside him and grits his teeth.

"I would've been so glad if you were one of the werewolves that lost their lives. Maybe that way, I would feel satisfied," She barks at him with so much hatred in her voice. He stares back at her unbelievably, unable to decipher where the guts and her aura are coming from. He is not convinced that this is the same woman he used to know all these years, he is not convinced that this woman is really Iris. The Iris he knows will never talk back at him. Is she possessed? Who is she?

"You'll pay for this, Iris. For the lives of the innocent werewolves that you've taken, you'll pay dearly for all of it!" He assures her before he turns around and walks out of the prison.

She watches as he walks out and the prison gate is locked again. She bats her eyelashes and touches her head with her shackled hands. She tries to figure out what the hell just happened, but her brain seems not to be in shape. She was initially scared of what'll happen earlier, but it's unclear what came over him as soon as the alpha walked inside.

"What's going on?" She mumbles to herself, crashing her back on the wall. It feels as if she's losing her mind, she feels like something has suddenly taken over her heart and body, and manipulating her. This isn't her, this isn't the Iris that she used to know. She can feel the change in her, she can feel something else living through her and it's sickening.

Three weeks later...

The past few weeks have been the worst days of her life. She has been inside the prison and treated like dirt. The werewolves in the pack and outside wouldn't stop protesting for her to be killed, and she was already scared of losing her life.

Her body feels numb as she tries to move from the spot. Her bones hurt badly, and her eyes feel so heavy. The threatening cold penetrates her bones and makes them tired and difficult to feel. She has been in here for weeks, taking in all of the colds, and she feels like she can't hold on anymore.

A sharp yelp forces itself out of her lips as she crawls back until her back crashes on the wall, and she sighs in relief. Her stomach grumbles loudly, and it dawns on her that she hasn't eaten anything since the previous day. She has been eating for the past three weeks, at least once a day. They have been merciful enough to give her food to eat, but since the previous day, they haven't brought her anything to eat. Not that she deserves it anyway.

Slowly, she moves her hands and hugs herself tightly trying to stop the cold from penetrating and hurting her bones, but not that it'll work anyway. Until when will this continue? Will she ever get out of this alive, or will she end up losing her life? What if he decides to punish her until she finally gives up? She won't be able to take that. Those are the thoughts that keep running through her mind...

The next day at the royal arena...

Alpha Lorenzo is sitting on the golden chair and staring down at his people who keep crying for justice for their lost families. They have been crying for weeks, and it's high time that he hears their cries and do what should be done. Although what Iris did wasn't called for, he feels like it's kind of his fault. Maybe if his people got the guts, they would've called him out for being the reason that they lost too many people, but who dares to challenge the alpha if you're not trying to pull a death stunt?

For the past three weeks, he has been trying to figure out who she is. He has done his investigations, but it never seemed like he'll ever know something about her, so he has given up. Besides, she's going to be killed soon anyway. Justice must prevail.

"I grieve for the lost lives of our loved ones, to the barbaric act of Iris..." He pauses and sighs briefly.

"As we all know the punishment for betrayal and treason... Like every other werewolf that has betrayed their kind in the past, and was brought to justice... Iris will not be an exception. Your lost loved ones will get the justice that they deserve..." He pauses for some seconds and nods to one of the guards.

"Iris will be sentenced to death by hanging, for being guilty of massacre and treason!" He announces, and the crowd cheers loudly.

"My lord, there's a problem," His beta, Vincenzo suddenly whispers to his ear, and he squints his eyes confusingly.

"Speak!" He urges him.

"Iris... She's missing from the prison," Vincenzo announces to him, and he freezes in his seat as his eyes slowly widen in shock...
