When Autumn woke up, all she saw was white. The smell of disinfectant filled her nose, and she realized she was in a hospital.

Keith was by the window, on the phone. On the other end, the bodyguard’s apologetic voice came through. “Mr. Sinclair, I’m sorry. We failed to keep an eye on Miss Luna. She escaped through the window.”

No one expected it. They were on the third floor, yet Luna had still managed to jump.

The bodyguards had been guarding the door, and only when they brought in her meal did they discover she was gone. They had no idea when she’d slipped away.

They quickly called Keith to report the situation and ask for forgiveness.
