LOGINThea sighed as she packed the last of her things into her box. Seth finished packing barely five minutes ago, his duffel bag lying on the floor, when he received a call from Arian and stepped out.
She took one more look at the cabin, a small smile on her face, it's been great to say the least. Whatever was in this room, this cabin, or the resort that made Seth tell her things she didn't think possible. She was ready to go home, to return to her reality because this weekend had been nothing short of a fairytale. Thea got on her feet, pulling her box up with her. The door swung open and Seth walked in, eyes scanning the room silently. “You're ready?” “Yeah.” He nodded, reaching for his duffel bag. He swings it over his shoulder, one hand reaching for her box. “I can..” One look from him and she went silent. His hand replaced hers in the handle. They walked out to the field where their cars were already packed. Daisy was already waiting by the car, Celine was sitting in her own van, her driver already behind the wheel, and Arian was leaning over the hood of his car, arms folded. Daisy waves at Thea with a smile as she gets closer. “I can't believe we're leaving.” She said, a sad smile on her face. Thea hugs her. “I know. Back to reality, I guess.” Daisy whispered in Thea's ear. “We need to do this often so I don't lose my shit.” Thea chuckled. “Definitely. Just us.” Celine, dressed in a flowing silk kaftan, approached the girls with a smile. “This has been the most delightful weekend I’ve had in years. Thank you, all of you, for bringing life back to this old place.” Daisy hugged her tightly. “Thank you for having us, Celine. We’ll be back soon, I promise. Just us.” Thea nodded, joining the hug with a genuine smile on her face. “Yes, we will. Girls only.” Celine glanced back at Seth and Arian who seemed to be deep in conversation of some sort. She whispered, a child-like excitement on her face. “Just us! Sounds great!” “What’s that? Are you all planning a coup or something?” Arian asked, approaching them in suspicion. “It's none of your business!” Celine snapped and Arian raised his hands in surrender “Fine. Geez. Can I get a hug at least?” Arian gave Celine a gentle hug, “Thanks, Celine. I needed to get away.” “You're welcome. You should stop by my place often then. You don't have to deal with everything by yourself." He nods, stepping away from her. “I will.” Celine laughed, her eyes twinkling. “I will hold you to that. You and Seth! I'm holding you both to that promise.” Seth simply nodded, a rare, soft smile on his lips as he gave Celine a brief, respectful hug. “I’ll make sure of it.” Soon, all the goodbyes were said, and they were ready to leave. Thea, Daisy, and Seth were in the same car, with Daisy in the back, with Seth behind the wheel and Thea right next to him. “Hey!” It was Arian and he had pulled his car to a stop right next to Seth's car. “Check your mail. It's important." Seth stared at him in silence. “You good?” Arian glanced at Thea and then back at Seth. His eyes brow arches upwards slightly, telling his friend it wasn't a discussion he would like to have while Thea was in the car. Seth nodded. “I’ll check it when I get home.” Arian nods. “See you around.” And with that, he drove off in his sports car. The drive back was mostly silent, filled with the quiet contentment of a weekend well spent. The sun was out now and the lush green of the resort landscape blurred past the windows. Soon, Daisy got out of the car and waved the couple the duo goodbye. “Thanks for the ride.” She smiled, her eyes flickering over to Seth in gratitude. He gives her a slight nod of the head while Thea hugs her friend firmly. “I’ll call you when I get home.” “Sire. Don't forget to get back to Clara on that file.” Daisy reminded as she pulled away from Thea. Thea nods , “I won't. Take care.” Daisy waves her good bye and Seth drives off. “Are you working on something?” He asked, eyes still fixed on the road. Asides from telling her good morning, and asking if she was done packing, this would be the second thing he'd be saying to her that day. “Yes. My former assistant resigned from the family business and she found me. I…I intend to start something new.” She said but she sounded hesitant. He could hear it in her tone and in the way she glanced out the window as though she didn't want to think about it. “A company?” “Something like that.” “Are you scared,” he asked, a tone of amusement in his tone. The word fear and Thea doesn't seem to fit well in the same sentence. “Uncertain.” She said simply. “That's new.” He muttered. Her gaze flickered over to him. “I’m not scared. I just want to prove my innocenece amd get evwn with Posy. Thats the only way to get her off my back completely. Who knows what else she has on me?” Seth chickled. “Ypu sound like ypu committed a crime that only Posy knows about.” “What? No!” “Good. Cause I'll cover it up for you.” Thea was stunned. She opened her mouth but words seemed to fail her. Is he being serious? He's going to cover up a crime for her? Not that she had committed any but she knew he was serious. “Whatever you need to get even with her, let me know. I might have something that could be of use to you.” He offered. “Why would you help me?” “It's part of the agreement is it not?” He asked, his brows slightly arched. It was in fact part of the agreement. He promised to make everyone who had hurt her pay. Thea found herself looking out the window, watching the familiar streets. She had no idea what to say or how to respond to this situation. Seth drove in silence, pulling up to the mansion soon after. He parked the car, and they walked to the front door where Butler John was already waiting with a train of staff. “Welcome back, Mr and Ms Blackwood." He greeted with a smile. He rushes the staff to help pick up their things from the car. “Good morning John." Thea replied with a smile. Stepping out of the car and setting foot on the tiled floors, she knew she was back to reality now. Her reality. She had no clue how to feel about that. “Would you like me to get you anything to eat?” “Yes. I wouldn't mind that. Thank you.” Thea went straight to her quarters, needing a moment to herself. The drive had been silent and she needed to get away from Seth's intense gaze that seemed to follow her every movement. She sank into the bed , a sigh escaping her. Her eyes caught a hlmpise of her ohone in tyge cirber. Sje had turnec it off for the weekend, desperate to get away from everything and everyone. Thea grabbed her phone and turned it on. Mere seconds later, the screen lit up to a flurry of notifications. She saw dozens of missed calls and messages, a stark reminder of the world she had left behind. A handful of the texts were from Posy who seemed furious for some reason, another from Gina and a handful from Adam too. Clara was also thrown in the mix and her social media, a ghost account she had created, was also flooding with notifications. Thea shuts her eyes, she was back to fighting fir her life again. Her finger hovered over the power button, ready to turn it off again, when the screen lit up with a call. An unknown number. She frowned, ignoring it, and let it go to voicemail. A staff wheeled in her box, setting her things in the right place and preparing her clothes first the laundry. Desperate for a shower, Thea waited for the young lady to finish up before stepping out of her clothes and taking a shower.. Finally, her door swung shut and she was alone in her room. Thea stripped , stepping out of her lingerie when her phone lit up again. Another call from the unknown number. Who the hell even is this? Her door swung open and Seth stepped in, his expression unreadable. He walked in, closing the door behind him with a soft click. Thea, still distracted by the numbers on display on her screen, wondering who her caller could be, had no clue someone had walked in. He got closer, his arm wrapping around her waist and pulling her back to his body. Thea stiffened, her phone falling back on the bed. “Relax.” He muttered, seeing the look of horror in her eyes. And like a magic word, her body relaxed under his hold. Not that a random man could walk into the house or anything but she didn't even know he was standing there. He nibbled on her ear, placing hot wet kisses on her neck. “We're in my house now. Does the rule finally apply?” He teased, a lightness to his tone. Is Seth…teasing her? That's…new.. “What happened to giving me time?” She slurred, eyes swinging shut as his mouth left her weak in the knees. “I am.” He smirked. How is this him giving her time anyway? But damn, this man was driving her nuts with that tongue. “Really?” She teased. “I've been patient.” “This is you been patient?” Thea asked, a moan almost escaping her lips when he found that one spot on her neck that drove her mad. He leads her towards the bed, making her lay chest down on the bed. “ I believe so, yes.” He started from her back, kissing the line that ran from her neck, down to her waist. Thea shuts her eyes, allowing the sensation to warm her up. Her phone suddenly began to ring again. It was the same unknown number. She tensed, the jarring sound an unwelcome intrusion, but Seth didn't stop. His hands moved in between her cheeks, running a finger down her lady bits. Thea gasped, arching upwards as he slipped in his fingers gently, thrusting in slowly as her gasps filled the silent room. The phone rang a third time, cutting through the tension in the air. Thea reached for it, maybe it was something important. Seth stopped her. He didn't say anything, but his eyes, filled with an intensity she had never seen before, held hers. He then looked at the screen, and for a fleeting moment, a flicker of recognition crossed his features. He recognised that number from a folder. A man he had requested a background check on. The call was from Runes. Seth’s jaw tightened. He didn't hesitate. He took Thea's phone away from her before she could reach it. “It could be important.” She managed amidst her ragged breathing. “It will have to wait.” He muttered. His mouth joined his fingers, earning another gasp from Thea. Then he slid the receive button on her phone. He didn’t put it on speaker, but he held it just close enough for him to hear them both. His ragged breathing, Thea's moans..everything. His tongue dived in deeper, kissing and teasing her until her knees buckled. Then he stepped away , undoing his pants and thrust into her, his movements no longer slow and tender, but fast, hard, and deliberate. He wanted a reaction from her, and he got it. Her moans and cries of pleasure filled the room, a sound that was unmistakable. He made sure she felt every inch of him, deep and hard inside her. He was making a statement to that bastard that dated to call his wife! His woman! Thea is his. He was hers. The rain had turned the world into a blur of gray and shadow. Rain had begun to fall, the wind howling through the girders.“Donald!” Seth shouted, his voice echoing through the storm. “Stop!”He didn't until headlights cut through the darkness. He slammed the door and ran forward, his breath forming white clouds in the cold night air.He had been following since he saw Donald run out of the house. His heart pounded in his chest as she adjusted his tie, eyes staring down at her with more fear than she'd ever since in his eyes. She met his gaze, a smile on her lips. “What?” “I didn't know you were this..brave.” Thea chuckled. “There’s more to me than you know. And you're going to spend forever finding out.” “Is that a deal?” He smiled and she nodded, eyes glowing. The morning light fell softly across the kitchen, painting the marble counter in shades of gold. Thea was standing right in front of Seth, eyes fixed on his suit and then his tie before giving a satisfied nod. “You're good to go.” Seth glanced at the standing mirror behind her, crisp shirt, dark tie, hair pulled neatly back. He looked way better than he did weeks back. “I don’t have to go in today,” he said without meeting her gaze. She smiled faintly. “If you don't, we will never get this over with."Seth’s eyes met hers, calm but shadowed. “I just need to make sure everything stays in place. The police have
The air inside the courthouse was heavy, tinged with the sharp scent of polished wood, coffee from the vending machine in the lobby. It smelt of something else as well, anticipation and fear..Seth’s hand brushed against hers as they walked through the entrance, his grip firm and grounding.“We’ll be fine,” he whispered, though she knew it was more for her than for himself.“I hope so,” she murmured back, adjusting the lapels of her blazer. The courtroom was already buzzing. Reporters scribbled notes, cameras flashed, and the occasional whisper drifted across the rows of chairs. Thea’s chest tightened. She could feel every gaze on her, every expectation weighing down on her shoulders.Seth stayed close, he was going to keep her promise of keeping her safe. She had asked that they attend the trial; it would be their first public appearance after Celine's death. His fingers tightened in her as they settled down, waiting. The trial had already begun when they entered. The defendant, R
The first thing that hit him that morning wasn’t the light, it was the silence. The house felt too still, too quiet. The kind of calm that only came after a storm had exhausted itself. The curtains swayed gently, letting in fractured sunlight that painted lazy shapes across the bedroom floor. For a moment, Seth didn’t move. He just lay there, staring at the ceiling, letting the faint hum of the city seep through the walls. Is this the right thing to do? Coming back here? Would Celine forgive him for not giving her a proper goodbye? If he's going against Donlad, will the people he cares about be safe? The bed dipped beside him. A reminder that he wasn’t alone.Thea was curled up next to him, the sheets tangled around her waist, her hair a soft, chaotic halo on his chest. She was breathing evenly, one hand resting over his heart as if it belonged there. Seth’s fingers brushed over her knuckles lightly, careful not to wake her as if any firmer touch would break the illusion that she w
It's been three weeks. Donald was nowhere to be found, Celine had undergone autopsy and the police were doing their jobs. The rain began the moment the last words of the funeral service faded into the hollow silence of the cemetery. It was soft at first, hesitant drops tapping against the sea of black umbrellas. But soon, the sky broke open, heavy and merciless, as though the heavens themselves mourned for Celine Blackwood.Thea stood still under the gray downpour, her hand gripping the handle of her umbrella so tightly her knuckles whitened. Her heart sank with a sudden reality as Celine was lowered into her grave, she was really gone. She was battling a terminal illness but she was supposed to have more time. More time with her, more time to do everything she wanted to do. She could have met her grandchild….The scent of wet earth and roses hung in the air. Around her, people began to drift away. Family friends, old acquaintances, business partners who whispered condolences.Adam
The morning light felt sharp, cutting through the silence. The only sound one could hear was the swift movement of footsteps. Even the staff were trying to be as quiet as possible that early morning. Thea's eyes opened slowly and the memory of last night hit her like sharp pain in the head. Seth's
Thea groaned for the hundredth time that night; she couldn't sleep. The bedside clock showed it was very late. Outside, the city lights twinkled, but inside, the huge place felt quiet and empty. Thea was on her bed, restless. Maybe it's the coffee from earlier? She felt strange energy buzzing un
Seth's eyes were fixed on the screen in front of him, reading through the annual reports for the company. His office was a huge space with large windows that looked out onto the bustling road of the city. His desk, made dark wood, stood in the center. A coat hanger on the left and a bookshelves on
“Runes is cheating on Posy?!” Daisy gasped, her voice louder than she had intended. Thea covers Daisy's mouth in panic, her eyes scanning the cafe. Luckily, no-one seemed to have heard her or paid any form of attention. Thea sighed, sinking back into her seat, thank goodness! It would be no fun i
