The face of my supposed father was covered with confusion. “How did you know that we had a new prisoner and that it was the Luna of the Thunder pack?” His tone was hard. His eyes were seeking answers.

“I know about what you did.” I decided to put on a show, displaying myself as his daughter even though I was not. “I know that you and your men wiped out the Thunder pack. Their women and children were held as prisoners and their Alpha was killed.” My tone was firm, and a hint of anger flowed with it.

“Ho–how did you know all this? You were at school when we ransacked that town.”

“Whispers.” I forced a small smile. “The walls have ears. It did not take long for me to find out. It is said that you also killed a girl my age. The only daughter of the Alpha and Luna of that pack.”

He blinked rapidly for a few seconds and then withdrew his arm from my shoulders before standing to his feet. “You should not be listening to rumors, Katara. If you want to find out anything, you come to me,
