It was evening when Amara reached the city. She went towards the hostel where she will be living. After some formalities and other things she went to her room. The room which she got is already shared by two people and she is the third one to join them now.
Upon entering the room, she saw clothes lying on the floor carelessly, some stuff was thrown here and there. She winced looking at the condition of the room.
In the orphanage, she stayed with fifteen people but never has the condition of her room been this bad.
She saw two girls there doing their work.
"Hey guys" She said meekly and fiddled with the helm of her dress.
Both the girls got aware of the third person in the room and looked at her suspiciously.
"Who are you?" One of the girl asked, folding her hands on her chest.
"I am your new roommate." Amara revealed, looking at them nervously. She hopes that they both are friendly so that she can make them her friends.
"Ohh"
"Welcome to the room then" The girl smiled and so did the second girl.
Amara smiled seeing their friendly nature.
It's a good start. She made friends on the first day itself.
"I am Amara and you both?" She asked eagerly.
"I am Chloe-" The first girl replied, "-and she is Everly." She said pointing at the second girl.
"Err.. We are sorry for the condition of the room. I couldn't find my favourite dress and messed up everything." Everly said embarrassed.
"It's alright." Amara smiled.
"We will just make the room tidy. Till then you can sit on the couch?" Chloe said and immediately picked her bag from the single seater couch.
It took fifteen minutes for the girls to clean up everything.
"So, you are the new admission in the college right?" Everly asked.
Amara nodded. "Can you tell me something about the college?" She asked excitedly about the place where she will spend three years of her life.
It was her dream to get admission in this college for the last two years. She wanted to pursue a degree in Bachelors of Business Administration and this college is best for it in the entire country. Her excitement couldn't be explained in words but it could be seen in the way her eyes shine in happiness as she spoke about it.
"Sure" Everly smiled. "Firstly, this excitement will no longer be there till the end of the sixth semester. You will beg to change the college because of the pressure of studies, assignment, internship, group discussions, extra-curricular activities and many more things this college has."
"The only reason you will wish to stay here will be because of its reputation." Chloe said with a shrug.
Amara's smile flattered hearing them.
Is the pressure too much in college? She wondered.
"Ohh" She said.
"And another thing which you need to know is never trust anyone in the college. The boys there often get involved in unnecessary fights, bets about girls and much more worse things. So maintain a safe distance from them." Chloe told and she nodded.
"There's also one nightstand, hook-ups, friends with benefits kind of thing so I will suggest you to be away from such boys who indulge in such things, unless and until you wish to have some timepass and are not afraid of heartbreak of course." Everly told.
Amara nodded again.
"There are also people who are involved with drugs and gangs. Stay away from them too." Everly added further.
"I have a small doubt." Amara said with a small frown adoring her face. "If it's a reputed college then why does it have such types of activities? Why don't the authorities take action against such people?" She asked.
"Oh sweetheart, it's all about power and influence. Such things don't come out and even if it does, it is covered by the rich people. Besides, you will find such things in every other college out there." Chloe said.
Amara didn't know what to feel about it..
She came here because she thought this college is the best one out there but only the people from inside know about its dark reality.
"So, tell us something about yourself Amara." Everly asked and Amara nodded.
"I am an orphan-" She saw how they looked at her with a sympathetic gaze. "-don't feel sorry for me. Being an orphan is not as bad as you think. Of course there are many factors which we lack in our life but it doesn't mean we are any less happy." She said.
"We grew up in an environment where everyone supports each other, and we have many sisters and brothers whom we can call ours. We orphans have a big family." She extended her arm as much as she could and smiled cheerfully.
Everly and Chloe smiled at her but somewhere in the corner of their heart they still felt pity for her.
No matter what, one needs parents in their life. Life without them is hard and no one can deny it. The one who helps us in hard times are the blood relation only, not some other person. It doesn't matter how many fights we have with our parents or siblings, in the end they are the only ones who come for us.
Sure there are few exceptional cases but it's not the same every time. They could be wrong too but at the same time they can be right too.
"Ohh shit! I forgot to tell you about the most important thing!" Chloe said and Amara looked at her curiously.
"Don't ever cross paths with Killian and his friends. They are our seniors and it will be best if you never come in front of any of them." Chloe disclosed.
"Killian" Amara scrunched her nose. "He sounds like a forty year old uncle to me."
Everly and Chloe burst out laughing hearing her.
"You are amazing Amara" Everly said, wiping the tears from the corner of her eyes.
Amara smiled widely upon hearing her. They think she is amazing!
"Thank you"
"Well jokes apart. These are all the things you need to know about before starting college." Everly said.

Killian entered inside his house drunk. He had a party with his friends after he made sure to abort that bastard which was growing inside Scarlett's stomach.
Bitch thought she could carry his child inside her.
He still remembers her crying and pleading when he made her abort the child. He doesn't know if the child is his or not but he wanted to get rid of the problem which was growing in her stomach. He doesn't want his name to be associated with someone's filth. Who knows whose dirty blood must be running in that bastard which was growing in Scarlett's stomach.
She wasn't ready to abort the child and he had to threaten her again to get things done according to her favour. The doctor even refused to abort the baby once he get to know that the mother is not ready to abort it but one glare from him and the doctor did as he was told like a fucking chicken.
The woman who will receive the honour to carry his child will be beautiful, from a rich background, it doesn't matters if she is not as rich as him since there's no one who can suppress him in power and richness but she shouldn't be a fucking peasant either, and most importantly she should be a virgin.
He won't tolerate a woman who is not a virgin. It's a different thing to sleep with other girls who are not virgins but the woman who will become his wife and carry his child will be a virgin only. He won't accept a woman who is a fucking whore, spreading her legs for every men out there to get fucked like a bitch in heat.
His woman needs to be pure and innocent in every aspect. She shouldn't be in a relationship with anyone before him. He should be her first in every aspect.
Sure he sleeps with other girls but it's a different thing. He is a man and he can do anything. Men have needs and he is no different.
"What am I hearing Killian?" He heard his father shout as soon as he entered the house.
Fucking hell! He doesn't need another drama right now.
"What happened now?" He asked in frustration.
"Don't talk to me in that tone, young man! I am your father and I won't tolerate any disrespect towards me." His father said with a clenched jaw.
Killian closed his eyes to calm himself down. "What do you want to talk about?" He asked.
"Did you make a girl abort your child?" His father asked.
"I don't know if the child was mine or not." Killian said.
There was no emotion on his face as he said it. His eyes didn't show an ounce of regret for what he did. He made a mother abort her child and he doesn't feel anything about it.
"Why didn't you had a dna test before aborting the baby?! What if the child carries Sullivan's blood in it?" His father shouted in anger.
"You think I will let that whore of a girl give birth to my child?" Killian raised his voice.
"You should have thought that before knocking her up. You aborted a baby who could be our own blood!" His father snapped.
That child could be his potential grandchild and he or she was gone from the world even before it got the chance to breathe in the world.
Killian sighed. He could feel a headache forming and he wanted to get away from here.
"If that's all that you want to say then I will leave." He said coldy and left from there without giving his father a chance to say anything.
His father stood in his place and clenched his fist in anger. If it was someone else in Killian's place then the person would be dead by now but it was his son, his blood and he can't harm him.
And he won't let any harm come to his son either. He will destroy the person who dares to mess with his son.

"I-I..." she stammered, shrinking back into the wall as if trying to melt into it. Her throat tightened, and the words died before they could escape, swallowed by the fear that gripped her entirely. Every inch of her screamed to vanish, to be anywhere but here.A muscle in Zayden's jaw ticked, his forehead taut with restrained fury, the air between them thick with tension."Why the fuck are you always around me?" Zander hissed, his voice low, strained, like a thread pulled too tight, ready to snap. His hands were still braced on either side of her against the wall, caging her in, but it wasn’t just the physical space he had cornered her into, it was emotional too, suffocating for her.She trembled, her back flat against the wall. Her wide eyes darted up to meet his, but she wished they hadn't, because what stared back at her wasn’t just anger. It was something darker and unstable.“I-I didn’t mean—” she whispered, voice barely audible.“Don’t.” He snapped before she could finish. “Don
Amara gently stirred the vegetables simmering in the pan, her breakfast now, and inevitably her lunch later. Mornings were the only time she had to cook as once she got back from college, there was barely a moment to spare before heading to her part-time job at Aiden’s office. It was just past seven, and with most of her morning chores already done, she finally had a quiet moment to eat and gather herself before the long day ahead.Just as Amara closed the lid of the pan, her phone rang. She frowned, wondering who would be calling this early in the morning.Wiping her hands on the towel, she walked over to the couch and picked up her phone, only to see the name of the orphanage flashing on the screen. Her heart skipped a beat as she answered it immediately."Hello—""Amara!" Lucas's loud voice burst through the speaker, making her flinch. Her face tensed in alarm, heart racing with fear that something had happened."Lucas? What happened? Are you oka—""I’m so happy, Amara! The gifts y
Men are foolishly brave creatures. They confuse silence with surrender. Mistake absence for weakness. And when the devil disappears for a while, they start to believe he's no longer a threat. That he's turned soft. Distracted by fatherhood. Changed by marriage. But the devil doesn't change.Killian had only taken a pause from the mafia world, for Kiara, for his daughter who had become the center of his universe. He hadn't touched a gun or spilled blood in months. Hadn't reminded the world of the name that once made grown men piss their pants in boardrooms and alleyways alike. And that was all it took for the rats to crawl out of the cracks. They thought his silence meant submission. They mistook his distance for defeat. And in their arrogance, they dared to mess with him. They fucking dared to betray him.A shipment worth ten million was intercepted, diverted from its original path, and handed over to his rival. Rafael Martinez. An open declaration of war from that bastard. And Killia
Life is unpredictable, it rarely unfolds the way we envision. If it did, Amara would be enjoying her college life right now, laughing between lectures, chasing deadlines, building a future she once dreamed of. Getting into this college had been everything to her. But now, it felt like nothing more than a burden. Somewhere along the way, her dreams had changed. Education no longer topped her list of priorities. Now, all she cared about was money. She needed it, desperately. Not for herself, but for Lucas. To adopt him, to secure his future, to give him the kind of life she once longed for. In him, she saw herself. The same spark. The same innocence. A bubbly little boy who still looked at the world with wide, hopeful eyes. For a moment, a small smile touched her lips just thinking about him. But it vanished just as quickly as it came. Because behind that smile was a truth she could never escape, Lucas had suffered because of her. And no matter how much she tried to make it rig
Amara pursed her lips, frowning at Aiden as she crossed her arms. "I'm not doing that," she stated, her voice firm. "You will." His tone left no room for argument, his sharp gaze making it clear he wasn't interested in excuses. "This isn't part of my job!" "I'm the boss, Amara. I decide what your job includes," he countered, his expression unwavering. "And I want you there. 10 AM. No exceptions." "I never agreed to this." "Too bad." His voice was final. "I pay you to follow my instructions, and this is part of your work conditions." That was yesterday. Today, on Sunday, her only day off from both college and work, Amara found herself standing outside a therapist's office, staring at the door like it was some kind of trap. Not because she had chosen to be here. Not because she thought she needed help. But because Aiden ordered her to. Apparently, since she worked for him, that somehow made her mental health his responsibility. As if she were a problem that needed fix
What are the chances of a cold, emotionless man becoming the most devoted and protective father imaginable?Surprisingly high.Fatherhood reshapes a man, for better or worse, it either makes him whole or shatters him completely. And in Killian’s case, his daughter's existence didn’t just change his life, it redefined him. It was something rare, profoundly beautiful, and so deeply connected that even the devil himself would crave a touch of it.Then who was Killian to deny the birth of something so beautiful in his life? He was no one, not in the face of the innocent love that consumed him so effortlessly. He had surrendered himself to his daughter completely, an unbreakable bond that neither time nor fate could sever. It was evening, and Killian had decided to take his daughter out for some fresh air. So here they were, in the garden, with Kiara nestled in her baby stroller, the soft rustle of the evening breeze around them. He walked until they reached a quiet, secluded spot, his st
Amara's face drained of color as she saw him standing there, Killian, after so many days. His mere presence seemed to pull her back into the darkness she had tried to escape. One glance at him, and all the strength she had gathered vanished, leaving her vulnerable, helpless, as if his very existence had the power to steal her will to fight.“Killian!” Aiden's sharp voice cut through the thick air. She watched as Killian turned to face him, his presence looming like a storm cloud.“What are you doing here?” Aiden demanded, taking a step closer towards him. Amara couldn’t see Killian’s expression, but the tightness in his body was unmistakable, like a coiled spring ready to snap.“Aiden,” Killian's voice was low, filled with something she couldn’t quite place. “I saw her, Amara. Just now—”Amara didn’t catch the rest of his words, her attention immediately drawn to Aiden, who locked eyes with her, sending a silent command through the sharpness of his gaze. She frowned when he sent a su
Amara’s first day at Aiden’s office felt like stepping into an entirely different world. The building was a towering masterpiece, its sleek design and endless floors commanding attention even from a distance. Inside, the sheer number of employees moving with purpose, the hum of activity, and the opulence of the space left her momentarily speechless. She had known Aiden was rich but this went far beyond her expectations. It wasn’t just wealth; it was power and influence on a scale she hadn’t imagined, the kind that belonged to billionaires. And she didn't expect Aiden to be a billionaire. It had been a week since Aiden had offered her the job and asked her to start today. Now, here she was, standing at the reception, utterly clueless about where to go next. Her fingers tightened around the fabric of her dress as embarrassment crept in. The other employees looked like they had stepped straight off a runway, their outfits exuding elegance and likely costing more than anything she had ev
Amara had moved on in her life, so easily, so boldly, so fiercely. She didn’t let the scars of her past hurt her, didn’t let the painful memories hold her back, and didn’t let the trauma stop her from moving toward her future. It was easy, wasn’t it?At least, that’s what she let the world believe. She wore her facade like a second skin, carrying it with grace and brilliance. The smile on her lips never faltered, masking the storm brewing behind her eyes. It was her armor, her way of keeping prying eyes from wandering too close, from seeing the cracks she so desperately tried to hide. To everyone watching, she seemed unshaken and strong. But the truth was far different, far more painful. It wasn’t easy. It never had been. She knew it wouldn’t be easy, not now and not ever. Because if it truly were, the scars wouldn’t still pierce through her soul, their sharp edges reminding her of every wound she had endured. The memories wouldn’t linger like ghosts, whispering in her ears and draggi
