Kieran’s POV

The moon goddess didn’t hold back on the drama when she created these creatures.

There was always a problem with them, but I must admit I had never met one this indecisive and infuriating.

Every word she said affected me in ways I hadn’t imagined possible.

What type of woman would have gold in the palm of her hand and throw it away for plastic? There wasn’t a she-wolf breathing who wouldn’t pray for an opportunity like this. She wasn’t special, she was just stubborn as hell.

Everyone had a price. I just had difficulty figuring out what hers is.

Maybe she was the type who wanted a ring to justify her being with me. She’d be sorely mistaken if she believed I would be obliged to a pretentious doom disguised as marriage.

“I reject your rejection, Laila Reed,” I sneered while trying to keep my wolf in check. She didn’t know how dangerously close she was to bringing the beast out of me.

For the sake of her child, who had done nothing to me, I had to make her see reason.
