SELIORA POV
As much as it gave me so much joy to taunt Kaelion like that, I knew this could fuck up my plans. I was supposed to get him to trust and maybe even get closer to him but after what I had just done, it was going to be harder. “Miss Seliora, please open up,” I heard a voice say. I took a deep breath then walked up to the door and opened it. “Hello ma’am,” A maid who looked quite older than most of the maids I had seen said, slowly stepping into the room looking terrified. She had some clothes wrapped around her arms with a small bag in which she handed me the minute I shut the door behind her. “Kaelion must have scolded her so much,” I thought to myself, feeling guilty while peeping into the bag. It was my fault he got so angry. “You should wear those instead,” She muttered, walking towards the wardrobe. I watched as she packed all the clothes inside it and turned back to look at me after she was done. “The shirt ma’am,” She said, softly. “Oh,” I muttered, rushing towards the bed. I placed the clothes she had earlier handed to me and the bag on the bed before beginning to unbutton the shirt. “Here,” I said, stretching my hands towards her after some seconds. She gently collected the shirt from me but said nothing and only left. I instantly started to scan through the clothes and the bags which contained toiletries and essentials I needed but none of the things interested me. The clothes were either too girly or just not my style. “What am I supposed to do with this?” I muttered, letting my hair down while running my hands through it. After almost another minute of scanning through the clothes, I decided to settle for a black short gown since black was one of my favourite colours. I slowly zipped down the dress and wore it but before I could zip it up, I heard a loud knock on the door. “Who is it?” I inquired, still struggling to zip it up. “Kaelion, I am coming in,” He answered, swinging the door wide open. “We need to talk about why you are here.” “Where are your manners?” I asked, still holding on to the zipper. “You can't just barge in here.” “I am pretty sure I can since this is my house, Come with me right now to the pack office,” He demanded. Still struggling to pull the Zipper up, I stared blankly as he walked towards the door. “I said now, Seliora,” He uttered, turning back to look at me after he must have noticed I was not following him. “My zipper is stuck,” I simply muttered. “Ohh,” He said, looking clueless. Seeing that this might be a good opportunity to start to get closer to him, I took some steps towards him and turned my back on him. “Help me with it,” I stated. He hesitated for a while but ended up zipping it up. Afterwards, he walked out of the room while I followed closely behind him. We walked for some minutes then entered a room which I assumed was his office based on the arrangements. I noticed there were lots of paintings hanging around the walls like in the living room as I looked around. “He must like paintings a lot,” I thought to myself but after spotting a drawing board and some art materials, I realised he could be the artist. “So you paint,” I inquired, trying to establish small talk. “None of your business,” He answered coldly, sitting right opposite where I stood. “Growing up, I also wanted to be an artist,” I explained. “I would stay up at night after school and paint in my drawing book but it all changed after my sister died.” “I want you to tell me where your father went on the day you were taken captive. I need to know why he was not at the mating ball,” He stated, ignoring all I had just said. “You meant on the door you murdered and wiped out a pack of innocent wolves,” I replied, seeing that my attempt to get him to talk to me failed. “Answer the question, Seliora. I would not want to do this the hard way,” He threatened. He was starting to get angry but I didn't want that, I needed him to be in the best possible mood. “He went out of town with mother to attend some meetings with some other Alphas,” I responded. “It's kind of a big deal.” Kaelion nodded his head but I was curious to know why he was suddenly asking questions. “Why?” I asked but he cut in before I could finish. “Rule number two, Seliora. You do not get to ask questions, I do the asking,” He stated in a firm tone. My plan to talk to him was failing. I knew it was not going to be easy but it was much harder than I thought. “What are the other rules?” I asked, sitting down on a chair right across from him. “You are breaking rule number two,” He uttered. “Right, no questions,” I whispered, nodding my head while he stared at some files in front of him. After some minutes, I grew impatient and decided to try and talk to him again. “What was her name?” I asked. “Misha,” He responded to my surprise. “What exactly happened to her?” I asked again, out of curiosity. “Your father murdered her and you are going to help me get back at him. It's why you are here,” He answered, shoving the files in front of him to the side. “I want you to tell me how no one has managed to take him down for so long. I will let you go back to your brother and mother if you help defeat him.” “You are really out of your mind,” I stated angrily, standing up.SELIORA POVI peeped from under the table to see who it was.It was Kaelion. He must have forgotten something and came to pick it up.I was frightened but managed to keep my cool, I could not let him find me here.“I was informed by the guards that you let Seliora go,” A voice whom I assumed to be Jackson’s said.He was with him.“Yes,” Kaelion responded to him just as he was about to turn towards where I was hiding.Seizing this opportunity, I quietly crawled away and tiptoed towards the shelf.“According to the doctor, she needed to get some rest. I could not just leave her in the cell for her condition to worsen,” Kaelion replied to Jackson while I peeped from where I was.“This is going to upset Claire. What if Seliora loses her cool and attacks her again?” Jackson stated, his voice filled with concern.“I have it all under control, besides it won’t be long till I get rid of Seliora,” Kaelion stated, taking more steps towards the table. He then opened one of the drawers and picked
SELIORA POVI had no regrets about what had earlier happened with Claire. I only saw an opportunity and decided to use it to my advantage.Claire’s action took me a bit by surprise though, she looked so innocent but now I knew exactly who she was.Her coming to see me was all a trick to provoke me which I fell for.“I know you don't trust me, I don't trust you either but it's really simple. I would have killed her way before you even intervened if I wanted to,” I said, looking at Kaelion. He said nothing afterwards and only walked away quietly while I wondered why he came to the cell in the place.“It probably makes him so happy to see me here,” I muttered, lying down on the blanket one of the guards had earlier given to me.This was my second night being taken captive under Kaelion’s pack and I still have not been able to make any significant progress. All my plans seemed to have either failed or backfired.“Fuck!” I stated angrily, standing up.Lying down was not helping, it only m
KAELION POVSeeing the proud look Seliora had on her face after almost murdering one of the closest people I had left made me fear I might have gone too soft on her.I needed to remind her that she was being taken captive here.“Go into your room and call the pack doctor. I will see you in a minute,” I stated, facing Claire. She nodded her head and walked away quietly while I wondered what to do with Seliora.“You would have killed her if I were not here to stop you,” I yelled, trying so hard to hold back my anger. If Seliora had hurt her, I would not have been able to forgive myself. “You disobey my rules every chance you get. You are going to get punished this time,” I growled.“Really,” Seliora simply responded. It seemed like she had something to say but I didn't want to hear whatever it was she had to say.“I was protecting myself from her, she attacked me!” She stated.I was sure there was no way Claire was lying to me, Seliora had to be the one lying.“Did you ask her for a wa
SELIORA POV“Where am I?” I mumbled, slowly opening my eyes. The last thing I remembered was collapsing in front of Kaelion while trying to talk to him. I managed to open my eyes completely and tried to sit up but I was too weak. I scanned the room with my eyes slowly and from what I could tell, I was in a hospital.“You are fine, you were brought here to the pack clinic by the Alpha,” I heard a voice say.“Kaelion,” I muttered in disbelief. He was the last person I imagined would bring me here.“Yes,” The pack doctor replied, walking towards me with a tray of food of water. “You have to eat, you are suffering from extreme exhaustion and starvation.”“How long was I out for?” I asked, taking the tray from him.“About six hours,” The doctor responded.“Wow,” I mumbled.“Eat up and rest, I will be back in three hours to check up on you,” The doctor said, walking away.I slowly opened up the plate which contained a bowl of food, some vegetables, and steak. “Smells good,” I whispered, t
KAELION POVThis didn't look like a trick or an attempt to fool me but if it was, she must be pretty good at acting.Without a second's thought, I picked her up and hurried towards the quarter where the pack doctor lives with Jackson right behind me.Whatever it was, I could not let her die. She was only useful to me alive.“Get her on the table,” The pack doctor who seemed to have sensed us coming instructed.I gently placed her down while watching the doctor examine her. For some reason, I hated to see her this way.It reminded me of how helpless I felt seeing Misha’s dead body.“What is wrong with her?” I inquired, running out of patience.“She is suffering from starvation and extreme exhaustion, Alpha. It seemed like she had not slept or eaten for a long amount of time,” The doctor explained.I knew Seliora was relentless and stubborn but I never thought she would succumb to starving herself. I felt sorry for chaining her and dragging her to the border but there was no way I could
SELIORA POVThis was enough to prove that Kaelion might have been wrong about everything. He was so quick to assume this attack was from my father.Maybe he acted under annoyance and should have probably investigated the attack or maybe his mate’s death made him too delusional to even think things through.Either way, I loved his response and looked forward to making him suffer till he took his last breath. I had also hoped this was Father but I was not disappointed. I was sure he was doing everything he could to get me out of here. This was going to be a bit hard for him considering Kaelion wiped out all of our pack members and father’s men.“We have to go,” The familiar man who earlier came into the office to break the news of the attack to Kaelion announced standing right next to me.“You are his Beta right,” I muttered, looking sideways at him. “What is your name?.“Jackson,” He answered, coldly.“I am guessing Kaelion is also your friend,” I uttered. “What do you want?” Jackson
