Chapter 9: Since you slept with me, you must take responsibility. 

They both remained in that position for some seconds. Ava is afraid she will suffocate to death if this does not stop.

"Are you sure he won't come after you again if you returned the bride's price?" He asked. His voice was cold and terrifying.

Ava nodded her head instantly. "Yes. I'm sure of that."

"How naive of you," the man said, and his lips curved upward slightly, forming a smirk "He will come after you even if you return the bride price. I'm sure he will lay another trap for you which you will foolishly fall into. The only thing to avoid this is to get married to someone else. Let's get married."  Ava widened her eyes in shock when she heard what the man said. She couldn't believe her ears. Are her ears playing tricks on her? This is too shocking to be real.  Though the guy before her is so handsome. He is freaking handsome, to be precise. But how will she be able to survive with this kind of man? He is so scary, and it looks like he will kill her if she dares to make any mistake. She would rather be with Mr Andrew than to be with this living devil. At least. Mr Andrew would not kill her. She would only be his mistress. But this man. His aura alone is dangerous. And she can tell everyone is scared of him. Even the maids were also scared of him. They all seem to be walking on eggshells.

His eyes alone are enough to scare the life out of her. He is like the Grim Reaper. Who knows if she was right? She heard the Grim Reaper is the most handsome man in the world. And this guy seems to be the most handsome. And his aura is way too out of the ordinary. What if he is truly the Grim Reaper? She screamed in her head and her heart started beating like crazy. She's so scared right now, and she's afraid she will pee in her pants out of fear.

"Let's get married."  The man said again and Ava trembled all over. She tried to look as normal as possible. She forced out a smile that didn't reach her eyes. "I... I am... sorry, but I don't.... think I will... be..."

The temperature in the room suddenly dropped so low. A layer of ice could be seen on Damien's forehead, making Ava shiver even more. Is the girl playing hard to get? Many girls would be dying to marry him. She seems to intentionally throw herself at him and now that her plan has worked. She is now playing the role of hard-to-get. The thought alone fueled his anger.

"What are you trying to say? You can't marry me?" He questioned. His cold voice rang through the place, sending shivers down Ava's spine. She was trembling. It looked like she was splashed with cold water.

"Since you slept with me, you must take responsibility. I am not asking for your opinion on it. It's an order. We are getting married right now and that's the final." His voice was low and calm. But one could tell it was calm before the storm. No, the storm has already arrived.

Ava's body trembled all over. This man is indeed unbelievable. How can he say she should take responsibility for sleeping with him? But he enjoyed it more. Since it was her first time, all she felt was pain. How can she be the one at fault? He even said she must take responsibility for it. This man is unbelievable.

"But that was my first," She managed to say without stuttering.

"That's good then. And it will be your last." Ava didn't understand what he meant by that and flashed him a surprised look.

"Let's get going." He said and pulled her up forcefully. He took out a handkerchief and used it to wipe the hand he used to touch her clean. He threw the handkerchief on the floor and one of the maids came to pick it up.

They both walked out of the mansion and Ava kept some distance from him. She can't believe she's getting married. And it is against her will. If she had known this is how everything would turn out in the end, she wouldn't have called him for help. It's like escaping the wolf's den and walking right into the Lion's mouth. No one needs to tell her before she knows she's doomed. But she wondered who the man was though.

They both entered the car and a bodyguard closed the door from behind. The driver drives out of the mansion afterward.

She glued herself to the window to stay away from him at all costs. Though he has an angelic face, he has the devil's aura around him.

She turned around and was surprised to see some cars following them. Just how rich is this man? She wondered.

After what seems to be an eternity. The car finally stopped in front of the Civil Registration Bureau. Though they only spent twenty minutes in the car, to Ava, it felt like an eternity. She thought she had already grown white hair in the car. 

A bodyguard opened the car door for them and they both stepped out of the car and entered the building.

After doing all the necessary things, they took a picture together and were given their marriage certificate. Ava couldn't believe her eyes. She found it hard to believe she was married. She was married to a total stranger. She did not even know his name. She could see how girls were staring at him in admiration. Even all the brides that were also there were staring at him while they were looking at her with envy in their eyes. Little did they know that he was the Grim Reaper. The grim reaper that will soon take their lives.
