The following day, I woke up at three in the dawn, and I couldn’t get back to sleep. I am leaning at the headboard as I read the book that Dad gave me.

However, no matter how hard I tried to focus on reading it, my thoughts traveled to Elias’s words last night.

My father’s lawyer fakes it? But why? What is his reason? Does he know something? Does he figure out that Jade and Noah have a lousy scheme?

I close my eyes and try to remember that lawyer’s face.

It’s been years. Right after my father’s first death anniversary, Jade brought me to my dad’s old office inside the house and forced me to sign. As a weakling, I scribbled my signatures above my name.

As I remember the lawyer, he was already in his mid-sixties at that time. A decade past means to say he’s already old.

If he plans to rob my father’s riches, he will be the owner by now. But no, he faked the document and ran away. The big question is… WHY?
