Janet adjusted in her seat, sighing for the tenth time since the class had started. She felt uneasy, well; this was because Derek had been absent for about three days and counting.
She hadn't seen him and was very worried.What made her that way was the fact that his 'crew' actually showed up at school but he didn't. This was very unlike them, in fact; during one of her nosy adventures, she heard Obinna complaining about how Derek hadn't been picking up his phone.Janet picked up her bag before digging her hands into it, bringing out her phone, which she had snuck to school. It couldn't be jealousy.Jagun sneered at the thought, why on earth would he care if Janet was obsessed with his best friend? I almost kissed her.Derek wondered in his mind as the realization began to kick in, he had almost kissed Janet. They were so close, their lips almost touching, if anyone of them had just leaned in, he couldn't guarantee that it'd have be just a peck.He had thought that when he leaned in, she'd have slapped him and stormed off; but she just stared at him with those brown eyes of hers, parting her lips which looked rather inviting at that moment. It seemed like Dotun had been making her moves on Derek, well, not that it was new; but this time she really went at it.Janet was surprised when she saw Derek down the hall, that wasn't the surprising part, it was when he actually walked over to her with a small awkward smile and said hello. -"Senior Janet, please it was my mommy that was delaying me." One of the juniors cried out in annoyance, clutching his bag with tears almost welling up in his lower eyelid. Janet leaned into his arms, laying her head on his shoulders as she inhaled his scent. She loved how he scooped her up, not to mention the fact that she was still straddled on his lap like a baby.
