Chapter 41

OAKLEY

The next couple of weeks went by pretty quickly. Between Luna training, exploring all my powers and preparing for the Luna ceremony there was barely any down time. I had to go shopping a few times with Luna Angela, my grams, Melissa and Beth. Beth had decided to stay for a while to assist with my training and after the Luna ceremony we planned to infiltrate the rogue camp. It seemed as though mark and I had barely seen each other with everything going on. a few days before the time of the ceremony those who had accepted the invited began to arrive and then things got even busier.

The day of the ceremony arrived and I was a bundle of nerves. Mark had gone to his office early so he could get some work done since he didn’t get a lot done with all the visitors and ceremony preparations. After breakfast I met with Luna Angela and a few of the other luna's from visiting packs. We talked all the way through lunch and well into midafternoon.

“Oh goddess look at the time!” Luna Angela exclaimed. “You need to get ready for the ceremony.” She turned to me. I got up and rushed out of there quickly. I was feeling weird, slightly light headed and some odd cramping. I was nervous so I figured it was just because of that. I got up to my room and jumped in the shower. Once I was done I wrapped myself in my robe and made my way to the walk in closet. I picked out a pair of black lingerie that I had gotten during one of the many shopping trips. Then I slipped on the silver blue dress I got for the ceremony. It had thin straps and was fitted until my waist when it flared out some but stopped at my knees. I slipped on a pair of black flats, I hated heels. I gathered my long hair up into a messy bun with a few strands framing my face. Then I applied some light eye liner and mascara. I kept it simple. I preferred a natural look over looking like a clown with all the makeup. There was a knock at my door.

“You look so beautiful!” Luna Angela exclaimed when I opened the door. I blushed.

“Thank you.” I said. my grandmother and Melissa stood behind her.

“We have come to get you.” Grams said. She pulled me into a hug. We all made our way down the stairs and to the front of the pack house. We walked to the training field where a makeshift stage had been set up along with a bunch of tables, chairs and buffets. There was a few tents set up with silver and blue flowers and other decorations around them. The tables had either a silver or blue table cloth and a candle in the center with flowers around it. We chose buffet style so that there were a lot of options for the guests.

We walked over to the stage, I stumbled a little bit.

”Are you okay?” Melissa asked me as she caught my arm.

“Yeah, I’m just nervous.” I told her. She looked skeptical but kept going. Once we got to the stage I could see mark on the other side in a suit. He looks incredibly sexy in his black suit with a blue shirt and silver tie. once he saw me he smiled. Then he walked to the middle of the stage and everyone became quiet.

“Thank you all for coming!” He said to the crowd.

“As you know, I have waited for, looked for and finally found my mate. I am incredibly lucky and couldn’t be happier.” A few people in the crowd clapped and most of them grinned. I could see serenity and her minions in the back scowling. But I didn’t let it bother me.

Mark held his hand out to me and I walked over to him in the middle of the stage. He pulled me into his side, his arm around my waist.

“This is Oakley, my Luna.” He said and everyone clapped. Then Luna Angela came onto the stage. Mark stepped back as she came up to me. She took a small dagger, made a slice in her hand and then did the same with mine. She put our hands together and then said:

“I, Luna Angela, hereby pass my title on to you, Oakley, as Luna of the silver moon pack.” She said.

“I accept the title of the Luna of the silver moon pack.” I recited back. With that I felt a surge of powers flow through me and the bonds I had with the pack members already seemed to strengthen. Everyone clapped and cheered. Luna Angela smiled and then stepped back, mark stepped back up next to me.

“With that I invite everyone to celebrate this moment with us! Please enjoy some great food and music. There will be some bonfires on the side over that way and a little later we will have a run.” Mark said. Everyone cheered again and then parted to get food. We made our way off the stage and made our way into the crowd, stopping as people gave their congratulations and saying hello. We made our way over to the buffet table and plated some food, taking it to one of the tables. We sat down and started eating when marks parents, my grandparents and father joined us.

“Oakley dear, are you okay? You look kind of pale.” Grams asked me. I nodded.

“yea, I didn’t get much sleep last night because I was so nervous about today and now that it’s completed I thing the adrenaline of being excited and nervous is wearing off is all.” I explained. She nodded her head, seeming to believe my explanation. truthfully I had no idea what was wrong. I was feeling hot, cramping in my lower extremities and feeling a little light headed.

“Alpha, there are some rogues at the border. They are demanding they talk with you.” Beta Jack said as he approached the table. A look of frustration crossed marks face before he masked it.

“I will be back as soon as possible my angel.” He said to me, kissed my forehead and then walked off with his beta, dad, my grandfather and my dad following. A few others had joined them as they made their way towards the woods. We continued to eat and chatter, interrupted occasionally by people who would come over to give their congratulations and just want to chat. Melissa came over to the table and grabbed my hand, pulling me up.

“Come on Oakley, let’s go dance!” She said. she pulled me towards the dance area where we joined the mass of people and started to dance. On occasion a few male wolves tried to dance with me but I politely rejected them. After a moment a couple of them got into an argument as they were starting to crowd around me, trying to get to me. Melissa was next to me trying to keep them away. One male grabbed my arm and pulled me to him.

“You smell so good Luna, I just want to take you here on the dance floor.” He growled as he pawed at me. It was then I noticed that all the males around us were unmated. Melissa seemed to notice also.

“Shit! You’re in heat!” She exclaimed. “that would explain so much.” She yelled for her mate and then her eyes glazed over as she mind linked someone. There was a bunch of shouting as warriors made their way towards me, fighting off the inmates wolves and slowly moving me towards the pack house.

“I mind link mark, he will be here as soon as possible.” Said one of the warriors. he then picked me up and started running as the others fought off the unmated wolves. Once we got to the pack house he set me down inside the door.

“You best go up to your room and not open the door for anyone except the alpha.” He said. Then he turned and went out the door, closing it behind him. I started to make my way up the stairs as i felt warmer and the cramps I was feeling started to turn into a sudden need of lust. I had no idea what to do but I made it to the bedroom and started stripping out of my clothes to attempt to cool myself down. I could hear shouting outside and I made sure all the windows were closed. Eventually the need was so intense it became painful and the heat I was feeling was becoming intolerable. I needed to cool down quickly.
