“Ms Pope can you stay behind?” Richard asked of Alyssa as Merlin exited and she was about to follow in his footsteps. She sighed and turned back into the Oval, eyeing Richard and his posture. He looked sad. But not as devastated as a man on the verge of loosing his wife was.“What can I do for you Mr President?” Alyssa questioned remaining glued in her position across from the couches, four feet away from him. She wouldn’t approach. She knew better than to close the distance between them. “I’m sorry I shouted.” He apologized exhaling sharply. “You’re not just my security director. And Merlin was right to call for you.” Richard ran a hand down his face wiping away the anger. His voice was calm and soothing like always.“It’s okay.” Alyssa reassured as he locked eyes with her. “Richard you need Katherine by your side.” Alyssa added to make sure he realized that he should end the fighting as soon as possible. Richard nodded and rounded his desk taking a seat behind it. “I know. I know.”
