~ Sebastian’s POV ~

The gardener?

What the hell is she doing in the kitchen?

Do flowers grow in the kitchen now?

Damnit!

My jaw clenched tightly as I leaned closer to the screen. My hands balled into fists as the tension in my chest grew unbearable.

She tiptoed to the served dishes on the counter, glancing around like a coward, and then pulled out a small bottle.

With the most disgustingly calm look on her face, she poured liquid into the plate.

Shit!

My breathing hitched.

My heart pounded against my ribs, fury racing through my bloodstream like a wildfire. My eyes blazed at the screen, burning holes into it.

How dare she?

How dare she play innocent under this very roof?

The door creaked open on the footage. Helen walked in, gentle and unsuspecting.

And that witch of a gardener turned, wearing a warm smile like nothing was wrong… like she hadn’t just tried to murder someone.

She handed the poisoned plate to my Helen. My Helen.

No… no.

I couldn’t watch another second.

I slammed the spa

  • Secret affair with the billionaire    Just a man

~ Sebastian's POV ~At least she gets to eat. It’s the one relief I clung to as I stepped out of Helen’s room, leaving her to share some precious time with her sister. I had never seen her eyes shine quite like that before…tired, yes, but alive in a different kind of way. Ashley’s presence lit something in her that even my constant watch hadn’t been able to. It was humbling. And honestly? It made me smile. While they shared the warmth of family, I walked down the quiet hallway toward the doctor’s office, determined to ask about Helen’s food prescriptions. She still looked so frail. Her bones barely held her frame. Even when she smiled, it came with effort, like it took energy she didn't have.I wanted to make sure she’s eating right. If I could ease even a portion of her recovery, I’d do it without question. The doctor greeted me warmly when I entered her office again. She had a steady presence, a mix of calm professionalism and maternal instinct that somehow brought comfort.“She’ll

  • Secret affair with the billionaire    Sweet as always

~ Helen's POV ~Ashley. The moment I saw her walk through that door, my heart stuttered. There she is….my little sister, my baby girl, my closest companion in this harsh world. Her eyes widened when she sees me, and I immediately tried to sit up straighter, hide the wires and machines, fake strength I didn’t really have. I didn’t want her to see me this way. Fragile. Hooked up. Vulnerable. But the moment her eyes locked with mine, I knew all pretense was useless.Tears welled up in her eyes like a dam that had been holding back for far too long. Then they spilled freely down her cheeks as she rushed to my bedside.“I’m sorry,” she said in a broken voice. Her shoulders trembled. Her hands reached for mine like they were afraid I’d vanish if she took too long.“No, no…” I whispered back quickly, shaking my head as tears streamed down my own face. “I should be the one apologizing.”For hiding the truth. For letting her worry. For pretending everything was fine when it clearly wasn’t.She

  • Secret affair with the billionaire    Two souls

~ Sebastian’s POV ~Even in her weakness… she still wants to protect everyone else. It’s just like her always worrying about how others feel, even when she’s the one laying in a hospital bed, barely able to speak. Her voice might be hoarse, her strength faded, but that heart of hers? Still intact. Still burning with quiet fire.I reached down and gently parted her hair. Her strands were softer than I remembered, resting against her skin like a comforting veil. I leaned in closer, my voice dropping into a whisper meant only for her.“I’ll be right back.”She gave me a small smile. Weak, but it was there. Still beautiful. Still hers. Her lips barely curved, her eyes drooping with exhaustion, yet she managed that smile….for me. And it filled something in my chest I didn’t know was empty until now.I let myself linger a second longer, just drinking in her presence. Then I stood upright, gave her hand one last squeeze, and left the room with my heart a little lighter than before.Outside,

  • Secret affair with the billionaire    Ashley

~ Helen’s POV ~I opened my eyes slowly and there he is again.Sebastian.Sitting right there beside me like he had no other place in the world he’d rather be.My chest rose in a soft sigh. I'd only closed my eyes for a few minutes. A short nap, just to rest my body…..my curious mind. But even in sleep, questions haunted me. Thoughts twisted through the fog of recovery, looping endlessly: Who poisoned me? Why? What had I done? But those were questions for later. First, I need to get out of here. Out of this white room, away from the rhythmic beeping of machines that reminded me I was still fragile. Still healing.I glanced to my left. The machines were still hooked to me, the tubes tangled like vines around my body. Each beep steady, patient like it had all the time in the world.Sebastian’s voice broke through my thoughts.“Shit, I didn’t ask the doctor,” he muttered, mostly to himself. Then, noticing I was awake, his attention snapped back to me.“You must be hungry, right?” he aske

  • Secret affair with the billionaire    Care noticed

~ Sebastian's POV ~I sat quietly in front of the doctor in her office, the cold steel armrest of the chair pressing against my skin as I gripped it absentmindedly. The room filled with a faint medicinal scent, and a clock ticked steadily in the background. Everything felt slow, like time itself was holding its breath. My mind, though, refused to be still. She's awake now. Helen's awake. That alone calmed the storm inside me.The doctor cleared her throat softly before speaking, her eyes meeting mine with practiced professionalism.“Don’t be offended, sir,” she began gently, “but what’s your relation to Helen?”I didn’t blink. It's a question I’d anticipated. A question that carried weight, especially in moments like this. Moments where care appeared too… personal.I held her gaze firmly, letting my silence stretch for just a second longer. Then, I gave her the answer I’d prepared. The one that protected both Helen and me, while keeping the truth just underneath the surface.“She’s… m

  • Secret affair with the billionaire    Need answers

~ Helen's POV ~He held my hands gently, as though afraid I would shatter if he squeezed too hard. His touch was firm, warm….grounding. My fingers were still cold, stiff even, but the way his hands wrapped around mine brought a sense of safety I couldn’t explain. Our eyes locked, and in that quiet moment, everything that words could never express passed between us. I didn’t need to speak. I didn’t need to ask. I could see it in his eyes…he had been here. Waiting. Hoping.“Finally, you’re back to me,” he said softly, his voice barely above a whisper, and trembling just slightly at the end.I blinked slowly, a single tear slipping down the side of my face.He is here. Sebastian Hartley, the man who rarely let the world see anything beyond his calm control sat beside me with eyes full of pain and relief.I tried to smile, but my lips barely curled. My body was still trying to find itself. Every limb still numb, tingling slightly like I was waking up from inside a shell that wasn’t mine.
