Tony Woods POV
With him on my side as my lawyer, we haven't lost a single legal battle. I don't see how Angela is going to escape this. “I got your text and got here as fast as I could. The tone of the text sounded pretty urgent. What do you want to discuss? Is there a problem we should be worried about?” Marcus asked me after we had exchanged pleasantries and laughed at each other's jokes. He hasn't settled down, and he's already throwing questions at me like an atomic bomb. I wanted to initiate the conversation when I heard funny movements outside my office. Instantly, I halted and leaned my ears forward to observe the sound again “Is anything the matter? Why are you acting weird?” Marcus called my attention after he noticed how silent and observant I'd been over the last couple of minutes. “Give me a second, please. I need to sort something out,” I pleaded with Marcus. Not satisfied, I sneaked to the door and carefully opened it to scan the areas thoroughly. Unfortunately, I didn't find a single soul around to prove that someone might be eavesdropping on our conversation. As I was about to leave, Sean, my editor, showed up out of the blue. I wanted to let go and return to Marcus inside my office, but my guts wouldn't let me. It kept raising my awareness that Sean might be the one spying on me. The moment we established eye contact, Sean nearly freaked out. He wanted the ground to swallow him. His heart nearly got ripped off his chest. Without hesitation, I signaled him to come forward. A At first, he was reluctant to obey my command, not until I threatened to have him sacked. "What took you so long to show up, Tony? You made me wait for too long after assuring me that you'd be gone just for a couple of minutes,” Marcus yelled at me I thoroughly understood his rage. I screwed up and needed to apologize. If I were the one who abandoned a schedule just to be delayed for no reason, I would be more than agitated. “This is the reason I stayed too long outside,” I pointed at Sean to justify my delay. In the process of trying to defend myself and satisfy Marcus's curiosity, I end up complicating things. “I don't understand. What has he got to do with your lateness?” Marcus asked with a hint of confusion. “He's a secret spy sent by someone. Probably my rival CEOs,” I revealed to Marcus despite the absence of valid proof. I would have loved to say I was wrong, but the expression on Sean's face sparked numerous controversies. He most likely didn't think that he was going to get caught! Tossing off the chair, Marcus gestured towards Sean who won't stop trembling like an earthworm that has salt sprinkled on him. The fact that Sean hasn't defended the allegations against him yet proved that I might be right after all “Young Man, you have the chance to redeem yourself by admitting your crimes. But if you chose to be stubborn, I would ensure you spend the rest of your life in jail,” Marcus sounded the warning to Sean to further add more fear. With such a threat, I don't see Sean outsmarting us. "What do you want to know? Please — don't get me arrested. My father solely depends on me. I don't want them to suffer, "Sean panicked. I thought it was going to be a hard nut to crack. I never knew it would be a walk in the park for us. Marcus smiled after Sean agreed to confess. It just made his job easier. He doesn't have to apply excess pressure just to force the truth out of Sean. “I want to know everything. I would like to know why you were spying on us. I would like to know how sent you If you could adhere to the instructions, you'd be set free,” Marcus vowed I laughed inside of me knowing that Marcus didn't mean any of those things he just mentioned. It was just a trick to get Sean to cooperate. I wasn't bothered about Marcus's little trick. All I cared about was getting the truth from Sean and nothing else. “It's Madam Angela, the CEO's wife,” Sean divulged. There was so much I could take for the day. I stayed mute and pretended not to hear him speak. Not until he affirmed it before I force myself to believe that what I heard was the truth. “Stop talking already” I halted Sean and ordered that we go have the conversation inside my car. After the betrayal from Sean, I refused to trust another. There's a high possibility of having another traitor in the company. “Having the conversation inside your car isn't a big deal but what if Sean escapes In the process? Have you thought about that?” Marcus advised. He certainly made a good point. His suggestion got me thinking for minutes just to make the right decision. “No, he won't. If he does, I'll hunt down his family and everyone who ever mattered to him,” I spoke with confidence. “Noted! If that's what you want. I can't stop you. It's your case. You should know better than me,” Marcus finally agreed with me. As we got to my car, I shut all the windscreens and scanned the car. I needed all the assurance I could get that a tape wasn't planted inside my car. After everything I've heard about Angela over the last few hours, I've sworn to be extra cautious in my dealings. “Now speak I'm done tolerating your silence!” I ordered Marcus after confirming that everywhere was clear. “I order you to tell me everything I need to know. Don't you dare lie to me because I am going to find out? And before you think of lying to me, don't forget about your family. Their safety is in your hands right now. No matter where they are, I'll find them, and I'll kill them,” I added.Tony Woods POV“Your wife hired me as her third eye in the company. I tried to back out, but she threatened to report me to the cops. I had no choice but to comply with her evil agenda against you. She never loved you. She married you because of your wealth. She also plots to take over the company immediately after your demise,” Sean revealed. “She never loved you,” the words ring a bell in my head. It feels like a Déjà vu. That was what Susan said when she visited my mansion with Paul.I thought she said that out of jealousy because she couldn't endure the fact I found love according to a younger woman. That was the reason I drove her out of my house. I should have paid more attention to Susan rather than kicking her out. History has repeated itself and the same thing I avoided has finally happened to me.Marcus said so much until I stopped him from talking. He was spilling more dirty secrets than I ever envisaged. I went from wanting more to wanting none. My head couldn

Tony Woods POVAfter the departure of Paul and Susan, it took a while for me to regain my sanity. I didn't know where I was anymore I kept on talking to myself like I was losing my mind. I was this close to booking a therapy session to fix the damage that Angela caused in my life. It felt as though I was living the life of someone else. I had a lot in mind to do, but I had no idea how to go about it. I was afraid that my decisions might be costly. I lost count of how many times I've canceled some important meetings that could be beneficial to my company. The meetings weren't relevant to me even though I was quite aware of how detrimental it would be for my company “Should I seek a divorce immediately and end this torment that has taken over my life completely? Or should I stick to Paul's advice to take things slowly?” I asked myself while the voice echoed back to me.It breaks my heart even more that I couldn't find that one person to share my pain with and get the solution
Tony Woods POV“Are you sure you really want to do this, sir? It'll surely break your heart. I might decline the call if you want me to. You don't have to force yourself and do this," Paul asked me for clarity. He needed to be certain that I was making the right choice. It was a simple question, yet difficult to respond to. I wasn't even certain what I wanted anymore, even though I asked them for more. That one question from Paul shattered the thoughts in my head.I wanted to satisfy my curiosity quickly. At the same time, I would rather not have my heart broken.Devastated, I rested my head on the desk like a lost soup while making the deliberation within me.While trying to decide for myself, Paul's phone rang again. Without asking further questions, I knew it was Angela calling again.“Uncle, she's calling again. Do you really want me to answer the phone?” Paul asked me. My heart was beating faster. Inside, my butt was spitting fire like a dragon, as though I were on a hot
Tony Woods POV“What the hell are you doing, Susan? That wasn't the plan, and you know that. Why did you fuck deviate from what we discussed at home? Do I need to remind you of everything?” Paul berated Susan for making such a bold statement.“Oh, come on Paul. Cut me some slack! What do you mean that wasn't the plan? Have you forgotten why we came here? If anyone needs a reminder, it's definitely you because you're missing out on a lot. I didn't come this far to watch you confront your uncle. You certainly should have done that some other time,” Susan fired back at Paul.I watched them argue like kids, and it was starting to mess with my mental health. They didn't even consider that I was seated in the office.Angrily I yelled at them, “Can you all stop already? If you are here to argue like kids, you can as well leave. I didn't put my schedules on hold just to listen to your trash talks. Are we clear on that?”My yelling forced orderliness in the office as absolute stilln
Tony Woods POV“Yes, your wife, Mr. Woods. And you might want to pay attention to me to experience a longer life span. Kicking us out of your office might be detrimental to your existence.” Paul said to me. His utterances conveyed so much authority I hadn't witnessed before.I saw a different Paul.He didn't speak to me in that tone when he visited my mansion with Susan last night.I can't help but wonder what might have gotten into him.Hearing Paul speak made me more angry, and I didn't hesitate to yell at him. “Paul, one more word from you and I'll kick your ass. Haven't I warned you never to say a word?” Just like the last time, I thought yelling at Paul would make him panic and stop talking. However, I was wrong. Rather than sealing his lips for eternity, Paul went all out to confront me. His voice was so loud that it got the attention of my office assistant who showed up looking so worried. “Boss, I heard a scream from your office. I had to rush down here immediately. D
