Chapter 4

AUTHOR POV

After having some time of passion in the room Damian came out leaving Abigail asleep, he went to his room to take a bath.

While in the shower the thoughts started coming through, his fears started taking over he was becoming more and more insecure, what have he just done, he cannot let her in his heart he was too scared and it was too dangerous but  deep down he knew he couldn't stay alone again, he knew he wanted the warm comforting presence of a woman, he wanted a life but each time he saw her eyes it reminded him of what he was, just a sad bad monster. All these thoughts ran through his mind while the chill waters of the showers ran down his body.

Damian finished bathing and went down to the living room to binge watch some movies, and so he did and suddenly out of nowhere Abigail jumped on him with a very proud smile, hugging him and giving him a hug from behind and for the first time in centuries he looked at a woman differently, he saw a woman in all the loveliest ways possible .

" Hey I see you were already chilling without me" she said with an amazing smile on her face,

" well you fell asleep so i didn't want to bug you" Damian replied .

" Ok so I want to know a lot about you " Damian said, in his mind he thought getting to know each other better will aid in building the chemistry that was forming between them, for he had finally let his controlling nature go and well let the future write itself.

" Umm ok" she replied.

Abigail told Damian about her parents, ordinary folks they were and how she grew up in the city of Los Angeles before moving to their family farm and how she spent most of her time with the lovely animals there and found new home there with incredible new friends, then about how she had to leave for college and then falling in love some couple times and out till the present moment. Damian was amazed with her story and how much of a somewhat free life she had, mostly because he never had any friends, no family anymore, no love and has always been burdened with sadness.

"You know I myself have never had friends, I lost my family many years ago, it has been so long I don't know how having one feels like anymore" Damian said with a sad look.

"Oh my, that's really sad I'm sorry about that " Abigail said in a consoling manner,

"Can you tell me about them, your family, maybe your ex's" she asked ,

" umm well my parents were happy people always wanting to help out, they were over protective of me though and to some extent cared too much, but i loved them really much, and as for a past love interested I've had just one i really loved, her name was Margaret and you might thinking I'm joking but she looks exactly like you" Damian narrated, " oh come on you always know to joke around " Abigail said laughing to Damian comparing her looks to his ex's.

If only she knew how true it was but, nevertheless that did not matter, the two spent the day talking, watching movies, laughing and generally having fun, until Abigail got a call from a friend who was in town and wanted to meet.

She went upstairs to freshen up, Damian on the other hand did not feel like letting her go, the tingling feeling he had in his tummy was so comforting, and it was caused by the presence of Abigail as he knew and he wanted it to last as long as possible but of course he wouldn't want to ruin what her and her friend had so he had to let go.

Abigail was done and ready to head out, " hey Damian , i have to go see ya later" she said while heading for the door, " oh i forgot, i love you" she said giving him a peg. Damian was dumb struck. He didn't know what to say or do. He was just frozen helpless with only his mouth mobile forming a smile on his frozen face.

After a short while on the road Abigail finally arrived at a restaurant her and her friend had arranged to meet in, Abigail entered the place easily spotting her friend at a table but she was seated with a man, she went over with a big smile on her face as a show of excitement to seeing her friend, they hugged each other and took their seats.

"Abigail what a long time it has been, I really do miss you, look how big you've grown girl" her friend said to which Abigail chuckled,

" well missy, I miss you too but I'd have you remember that we are basically the same age and you be saying I've grown like you're my mom's age" Abigail said, and to that everyone laughed, Abigail's friend Hailey couldn't help but be happy seeing her friend.

" Oh my pardon  my manners, this is my cousin Drew, he's the one I used to tell you about '' Hailey said,

'' Drew, Abigail- Abigail, Drew " hailey introduced them to each other.

" It's my pleasure to meet you miss Abigail, I've heard quite a bit about you" Drew said extending his hand in the gesture to shake miss Abigail ,

" well it's an equal pleasure meeting you Mr Drew, i too have heard quite a bit about you too" Abigail said placing her hand on his, Drew kissed Abigail's hand , and their eyes met, and they were stuck like that for what seemed like hours with glowing eyes like anime characters, without saying a word.

And there's Hailey, you and I , who are wondering why that hand holding and eye contact is taking so damn long.

" Uh-um" Hailey cleared her throat , which finally had the power of separating Drew and Abigail from their heavenly trance, " I think you guys will work well together, but I'm hungry and I need to catch up with my friend, so I hope you do not mind Drew" Hailey said, " oh yes , ...." Abigail and Drew said in unison.

They proceeded to order themselves some food and had a wonderful almost never ending conversation on different matters calling it catching up.

The night was far gone and it was time for the friends to call it a night, Abigail and Hailey hugged each other so tight saying their good-byes, then Drew asked for Abigail's number which she gave and they all went their separate ways.
