Twisted Plan

Walking out, Maria is sitting on the bed.

“You weren’t home when I got back half an hour ago, so I figured I would come to see if you were awake.” She moves, climbing into the bed.

I walk over and climb in with her, my arms wrapping around her. I still feel like she is going to leave. I don’t want her to. I know she sees James even if she denies it. The mark on her neck, when she got to the hospital, told me she had seen him.

I would not have joined Jackson and Alena if I knew she would have left James, but I am no fool. She hasn’t left him, she said she has, but deep down, she loves him a bit, like I love Alena. Falling asleep, I hope things get back on track now because if it doesn’t, everything will be a mess. Waking up, Maria is sitting at the table looking at me. Sitting up, I smile at her.

“Ready to leave?” She asks.

Nodding, I agree. I am. It is time to get back to the real world. Getting up, I get dressed, texting Jackson letting him know I have left, and I will see him at Ale
