“Last night was so fun,” I said to Serena on her bed.

Serena and I were so drunk that her club driver drove us back to her home, and we were both right on her bed.

Before we knew what was happening, Serena and I started kissing.

“Fuck, you have such nice breasts,” Serena said, and she unhooked my bra, sucking the life out of it.

I moaned as she found her way down to the short gown I was wearing.

She soon reached for my pants, and fingered me, while sucking my breast, and kissing me.

“You have to make me cum,” I said while moaning loudly. “I have waited for this for years…ouu,” I kept moaning.

Serena took some chill and slowly completely removed my gown, while she removed hers also.

She soon reached to have sex with me, just the way I loved it. She spread my legs, and took her legs inside mine, and we started scissoring.

It was a dream. I jumped up from my bed with the whole bed so wet.

Serena was the best down there. Even in my dreams, she went straight for the kill.

It’s been three days since Velvet and this dream occurred, but in the dream, it was the night after Velvet at Serena’s place. I woke up at exactly four-thirty in the morning from the dream. I couldn’t sleep again that night.

I stared at the ceiling wishing the dream had lasted five more minutes.

“Jesus Christ, Maya,” I blamed myself. “Was I really thinking about scissoring with my brother’s best friend?” I asked myself, while I blamed the internet and the lesbian p**n I’ve been watching.

The worst part was realizing I no longer want to get over Serena. I wanted her now.

By eight in the morning, I already had two cups of coffee as usual, and was still trying to forget what had happened.

Everywhere I looked, I literally saw Serena. “Argh… This is ridiculous,” I muttered.

“What is?” Ethan said. “You need to stop doing that.”

“Doing what?” Ethan asked, and I soon replied, “Appearing.”

“I am literally standing in my own house.”

He soon narrowed down his eyes. “You look tired.”

“I slept badly.”

“Nightmares?”

“No.”

“Then?”

“I don’t want to talk about it.”

Ethan’s expression immediately became suspicious. “Oh, God.”

“What?”

“It was Serena, wasn’t it?” I choked on my coffee. “No! We’ve literally not seen her since the night at her club.”

“Maya!” Ethan said as I soon replied. “It wasn’t!”

Ethan then laughed. “You know that one day, I am going to figure out why you get weird every time Serena’s involved.”

I almost got shocked by his words. “Oh well, good luck with that.”

Before he could interrogate me further, my phone soon buzzed on the counter in the kitchen. My phone buzzed, and my heart immediately betrayed me.

Serena: You awake?

Serena: Come outside

I stared at the message and then picked up my phone to reply.

Me: Why?

Serena: I bought another special coffee for you.

Serena: Also, I think you have been avoiding me

I soon stepped out to meet Serena. She wore a black tank top under an unbuttoned flannel, her tattoos more visible than usual.

“Morning,” Serena said as soon as I stepped out.

“Hi,” I said to her.

As we were discussing, Serena soon said, “I missed this.”

“What though?”

“Talking about things with you.”

“Really?” I spoke. “But I used to call every time something happened in school.”

“Yeah. I know,” Serena announced. “You called me after your first exam, and your first breakup.”

“That happened once.”

“I know, but it was somewhat memorable.”

I soon asked. “Did you ever get tired of it?”

“Of you?” Serena asked. “Never.”

Serena gave me that smile, which I really always wanted to avoid seeing. Silence reached us for a short moment, and she soon said, “You’ve been avoiding me again. I know.”

“No, I haven’t. Maybe I am just tired.”

“You left my club that night without saying goodbye.”

“You were going with Claire, and I just had to see myself off,” I sounded jealous.

Twenty minutes later, we were riding out of town.

The ride out of town was quieter than before. Maybe because resisting Serena was getting harder.

We soon reached the lake, and Serena pulled over. “You really like this place,” I said to Serena as she pulled off her helmet and shrugged towards me. “It’s so quiet.”

“That woman from the club,” I said, and there it was, bringing up Claire’s conversation again. A conversation I tried so hard not to have.

“Claire? What about her?” Serena’s eyes narrowed slightly.

“Did you go home with her that day?” I asked the question before I could stop it from slipping out of my mouth.

Serena didn’t answer me immediately. She then said, “No.”

“But why not?”

Serena became quiet for so long, staring at the lake, and I thought she wasn’t going to answer.

“You know why.”

Serena shook her head and smiled. “I’ve missed this.”

“Me interrogating you?”

“No, you being impossible.” She smiled again and said, “Let me tell you something.”

“What?”

“I remember when you were twelve,” she said as I soon interrupted. “Oh no. I am no longer a kid!” I smiled, saying.

“I remember the day you told me you wanted to marry me, which I still find so cute.”

My heart nearly stopped.

Serena remembered everything about me, even the moments I assumed she had forgotten years ago. Apparently, she even remembered the day I told her I wanted to marry her.

The ride home should have felt normal, but it didn’t. One sentence kept replaying in my head.

You know why.

She’d said it like I already knew why.

When we finally stopped outside my parents’ house, I climbed off the motorcycle and handed her helmet back. “Thanks for today.”

Serena didn’t take the helmet immediately. Instead, she looked at me. She looked at me for a long second.

Then she finally took the helmet. “Maya.”

My stomach tightened. “Yeah?”

Serena opened her mouth, and stopped. Something unreadable immediately crossed her face. “You know what?” she said eventually. “Never mind.”

She started her motorcycle.

“Serena.”

She looked back at me.

“What were you going to say?”

For a moment, I thought she was going to answer.

Instead, she gave me a soft smile that made my chest ache. “We’ll talk about it soon.”

Then she drove away. I stood there watching her disappear, wondering what the hell Serena Walsh almost told me.

For the next three days, Serena Walsh became the most confusing person to exist in my life. It’s not because she disappeared. Serena texted me constantly.Serena: Good morning, my love.Me: Have you eaten?Serena: Your coffee addiction is becoming concerning.Serena: I saw a dog today that reminds me of you.It started a playful argument between us that lasted forty-five minutes.Me: How does a dog remind you of me?Serena: It looked stubborn.Me: That’s rude.Serena: So accurate. The worst part was how easily Serena slipped back into my life. Four years away should have changed something. Instead, it felt like Serena had simply pressed pause and then hit play the moment I came home.Every conversation with Serena left me smiling like an idiot. The embarrassing part was that nothing about it felt forced. Back in school, Serena was one of the first people I wanted to call whenever something went wrong.Every notification from her made me excited and also made my heart beat.Every time

  • She Was NEVER JUST MY BROTHER’S BEST FRIEND    WATCHING SERENA WALSH AS EVERY GIRL WANTS HER

By Friday, Serena Walsh had become the biggest problem in my life. Not because she had done anything wrong, but because every time I convinced myself to stop thinking about her, she texted me.“You are staring at your phone again.” I looked up to find my brother standing in the kitchen doorway.“I’m not,” I said back to him.“You absolutely are,” he said. He soon added, “You’ve been thinking every time Serena texts you.”I nearly dropped my coffee after that word from my brother. “She does not text me that often.”Ethan raised an eyebrow. “Maya.”“Okay, fine. She texted me.”“And what did she say?”I hesitated to speak while looking at the text. It was:Serena: My club’s hosting live music tonight. You should come.Serena: Maybe unless you’ve become too cool for meI had read those messages a different number of times; in my mind, I was so ready to get to her club, but I refused to admit it.“Nothing so important.”“Interesting, Maya.”“What’s that?”“Your face does that thing wheneve

I spent my first night at home staring at my bedroom ceiling and trying not to think about Serena Walsh. It didn’t work.Serena had smiled at me like she actually genuinely missed me. She called me gorgeous twice.Another surprising thing is how she’d casually referred to my future partner as “she.” That moment replayed in my head for most of the night. It was eight-thirty the next morning, while I was halfway through my second coffee cup, when my mother walked into the kitchen with a smile that soon made it seem suspicious.“Oh, good. You’re awake,” my mother said.“That sentence never leads anywhere good.”My mother ignored me and soon placed a plate of toast in front of me. “Serena’s coming over soon."I narrowed my eyes. “But why?”“Apparently, there are places in town she wants to show you.”“Mom, I grew up here.”“Well, according to Serena, things have changed around here.”“Absolutely not.”My mother soon raised an eyebrow. “But why not?”If I spent another hour alone with Sere

  • She Was NEVER JUST MY BROTHER’S BEST FRIEND    WHEN DID YOU BECOME THIS GORGEOUS?

I spotted Serena before she spotted me.I will be honest, some things never changed in her.She was leaning against a black SUV outside the arrivals terminal of the airport, one tattooed arm folded across her chest while the other held a paper cup of coffee.Maybe not admiring, but loving. At age eleven, I thought Serena Walsh hung the moon, and honestly, at twenty-two, I still did.“Maya?” Her voice cut through the crowd, warm and familiar. Serena’s eyes landed on me across the crowd, then she froze as the coffee cup stopped halfway through her mouth. “Oh, my God.”I smiled despite how I felt. “Hi, Serena.”“No way,” she said ironically.I laughed nervously. “Last time I checked, it’s still me.”“That is impossible!”“I am pretty sure it is not.”She pushed herself off the SUV and walked towards me. The closer she got, the more confused she looked. “When did this happen?”“When did what happen?” I asked back.Serena then gestured vaguely in front of me. “All of…” Her eyes went back f
