I was lying in a field watching the clouds go by, when panic set in. My senses could tell something was stalking me. I got up slowly when the sky around me turned red. I started running towards my house and could hear the sound of something large kicking off the Earth to catch me. I made it inside my house when there was pounding on the windows and doors. I needed to make it to the roof. I climbed as fast as I could out of the window and scaled to the top of the roof. Once there I gathered the courage to look down. Wolves. There were wolves surrounding my house and in unison they all let out a howl, throwing their heads back.
I woke up sweating. I've had this same dream now at least once a month.
It's almost been a year now since we've come to America, it seems like we sailed across the world to get here. When my mother died it was easily the worst day of my life and everything that happened after, happened fast. Father was offered a job in the New World quickly after, and so our journey began. Father was a stark contrast to my mother. She was so full of light, the thought of her warms my face. She found the beauty in everything, the Earth between our toes, the flowers in bloom, the way the birds sing their songs in the morning, to the dark storms that loomed over us. She loved it all. My father on the other hand was more.. Stoic... He enjoyed his brandy and his cigars, small talk. He thought my mother a child the way she viewed the world, but I saw her as brave, fearless even. I love my father dearly but nothing will compare to the love I have for my mother.
My Father bought us a house here in the New World. Completely different from our old home. This house was settled on a large plot of land. It was a beautiful home made of timber, with large windows and too many rooms for just the two of us.
When we arrived here I tried to make the most of it, but I miss my friends, my mother, my old life. I thought I found the man I was going to marry back home. George, he was an apprentice for my father. It started with stealing looks, to the brush of his hand against mine. Eventually, when I would come home from school, he would sneak away from my fathers work and come in through my window and it started off with talking about our hopes, our dreams. We eventually went from stealing kisses to becoming entwined with one other, sharing every bit of our body's together. After my father received his new job offer in America, I begged George to tell my father he loved me and would take care of me. I wanted him to tell father that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together, but when George was offered my fathers job he chose it over me. For the first month of our 3 month long travel, I nearly cried every day. How could he do this to me? He was supposed to love me. My father, the poor soul, having to listen to me cry every day. He would just put his arm around me, he wouldn't say a word, but he comforted me the best he could.
When I arrived here, I started my final year of school. There was only one other girl in my class, Roselyn, and we quickly became friends. I also met another boy in my class, Simon. He was tall with golden blonde hair, with blue eyes. His skin was tan from working on his family's farm. He would rarely attend school but when he did, I would try to catch his eye. My father was always at work and would sometimes spend the night in town, leaving me alone to care for myself. Simon started to come over here and there, and what would turn into him coming over quite often. It wasn't long before Simon made his way into my bedroom.
Jennie We finally made it back to the hut, and Tyee was starting to lean on me a little more, and he was sweating bullets. I walked him over to the bed. “Tyee, will you let me get the healer now? You don't look good, my love." Tyee swung his feet onto the bed “I just need to rest, I'll be fine.” I went over to the stove to light a fire and get some light in the room. I grabbed a candle and walked over to Tyee, and held the light to his side. I gasped at the sight. He’s not healing, and the wound it’s still bleeding. “Tyee, I'm going to get the healer.” I went to put the candle down, but Tyee grabbed my arm, pulling me back. “Do not say a word to anyone, be quiet about it, don’t forget you're in a village of wolves that can hear everything. They can't know their Alpha is hurt.” I nodded my head before leaning in to give Tyee a kiss. “I'll be right back, my love. You need to rest. I'll be right back.” Tyee gave me a small smile, and I turned and walked as quickly as I could to Ahanu's
Jennie Everything was happening so fast. My eyes were adjusted to the dark, and I could make out the figures of two very large bears and their glowing eyes. They circled us closing in. Dakota was moving his body around mine following the bears as they got closer. I couldn't move. My body was rigid. How am I supposed to help Tyee and Dakota? They can't take on two bears at once? The bears have moved in on us. They were snapping at our feet, but Dakota didn't budge until the smaller bear swiped his paw at me. Dakota instantly lunged, going for his throat. He snapped down hard and held on as the bear thrashed around, trying to swing him off. Dakota positioned himself under the bear using his claws to slash and tear into his abdomen, still clamped onto his neck. I watched in terror still frozen when I heard bones cracking. I turned to the other bear, who had now shifted into a human. He was running for me, and I screamed, my body a statue. I took a deep breath, and when his body mad
Tyee I let Dakota take over the shift, and he immediately stretched his stretched his paws. “It’s about time you let me shift.” Dakota smirked. I couldn’t help but roll my eyes. “Alright old man, let’s get going, eh?” Dakota snickered as he got down on his belly for Jennie to climb on. Jennie carefully ran her fingers down our back. “I almost forgot how big you are” She whispered. Dakota nodded his head at Jennie for her to climb on. I felt her fingers grab on to Dakota’s fur, and as soon as she leaned forward, Dakota took off. It was going to be a short run down to the river, but at least Dakota gets to stretch his legs. I could hear Jennie’s heart racing, and her small gasps was we wove through the trees. Dakota was happy being able to feel the night air flow through his fur and our mate on his back, so much he so he tried fighting the shift when we reached the river. “Don’t worry, Dakota, you can run us back, don’t get so angry. “ Dakota just chuffed at me as he laid down, cros
Jennie I’ve been waiting patiently for Tyees' return. I hope the war meeting went well, and I hope Raiah is met with leniency. I like her very much and hope we can stay friends. While Tyee was in his meeting, I couldn’t sleep, so I wondered through the village and stopped to chat with some older ladies. They were all talking in their language, and some were weaving fabrics, while others were cooking. I approached them, and they all greeted me as Luna, but I can’t say it was welcoming. Still, I wanted to make the effort. “Hello ladies!” They all nodded their heads, acknowledging me. I walked over to the oldest woman weaving a blanket and put my hand on her shoulder, and tried to give my warmest smile. “Can you show me how to do that?” I asked. Again, I was given a small nod. I watched her fingers work as if they were making magic. “Wow, I don’t think I can do that! You’re amazing!” Next thing I know, all of the women were laughing. I let out a small smile, trying to hide my embarr
Tyee I walked into the war tent, where the elders were already gathered. I walked in letting out my Alpha aura a little more than I normally do. The elders although wise, will find a way to try and over power you if you don’t stand your ground. With my father sitting as the head of the elders now it’s exceedingly worse. My father announced my presence. “Chief Alpha Tyee of the Blood Moon Pack. May you hear our words and let our wisdom guide you.” Every elder bared their necks to me and Dakota pressed forward “You may gather around the pack table.” The pack table was a fine piece of wood with top carved out to mimic our pack lands and the immediate surrounding packs. My father began. “Chief Tyee you have called upon the elders, what is your ask?” “Thank you father, and my elders. You may sit.” I paused allowing everyone to get situated as I remained standing. “As you all know the bear king is testing us. First the killing of Sairo, now Raiah being sent to spy. We must act.” The roo
Jennie I feel so conflicted by Raiah and Tyee. I consider Raiah a friend and I don't want to see her punished especially by my husband. On the other hand Tyee, he's my mate and if Raiah would have followed through with her plan and hadn't confessed Tyee could have been killed. Seeing Tyee command that much power with hardly any effort was tantalizing. Tyee pulled me from my thoughts, whispering in my ear. “What are you thinking about little wolf?” I shook my head, feeling my cheeks blush. “Don't lie to me, I can smell you.” Tyee stopped us turning me towards him. He brushed his thumb over my lip leaning in, resting his forehead against mine. “I can help you with that.” I nodded my head as I held his gaze. He stepped closer, his lips meeting mine, his kiss was soft and sweet and I needed more. Tyee picked me up in one swift motion and I couldn't help but squeal. Tyee let out a deep laugh as he walked us back to our hut. Once inside Tyee brought me over to the bed putting me down nex
