“Amilia, what are you doing?” Editha exclaimed.

She watched as her granddaughter extended her hand toward her. Editha had a frightened look on her face as she stared at the blackest orbs she had seen. It was round and big, and… cute. The owner of the orbs had a small and fluffy face. His tongue was hanging out of his mouth.

“He likes you, Gran. Come on smile for him. You’re scaring her with that look.” Amilia said.

“Amilia, darling, you know that I don’t like dogs. What are we even doing here? Harold might see us.” Editha looked around in alert.

She’s been scanning the whole place since they left the diner. Since the day she saw Harold at the diner, she’s been on edge. She can’t help it, the images of Harold’s mistreatment. It was a nightmare, one she would not experience again.

“Gran, please. Loosen up a bit. I bought you here today to ease your worry. Can you please cooperate?”
