Chapter 12: Call Me By My Name (Part Two)

“ It’s been great. Though, I had the challenges but luckily, I was able to overcome it. Well, I feel more safer now. . . I guess.”

Diana noticed he hasn’t touched his tea since the conversation started. “You haven’t touched your tea yet.”

He took the cup, sipping from it. She watched his adam’s apple move up then down. She sighed in relief, assured that he did swallow the tea. Then she faked a smile on her face, sipping from her cup.

She was studying him to see if there would be any reaction in him. She noticed his breath was heavy, and his eyes grew heavy. He was blinking hard to resist the reaction, and not to pass out.

“What did you do?” He grabbed the tea cup, smashing it in his grip. “Did you just poisoned me?” He said faintly, falling to the ground.

Diana stood up, smiling at him. “ I never thought you’d fall so easily to my trap.”

“Who sent you?” He growled, but the more he talks, the more he loses his strength. “Who are you?”

Diana walked to his side, bending before him. “ Let’s just say, I am your brother-in-law who has come to take his bride home.”

“ What did you do to her?” He growled. “I swear, I’m gonna tear you apart if you lay a finger on her.”

“ Oh, I’m so scared.” He mocked, laughing. “ Poor thing you’re dying, you won’t do anything to me. And just in case you wake up, don’t feel too surprise, because she will be coming with me.”

“ No. No! No!” He breaths faintly, then he passed out.

*

He jerked up, gasping heavily. He was on his bed, in his room and there was no one with him. He recalled what happened, and with immediate effect, he barged out of the room.

“Edward!” He called in a loud voice.

Edward who was already approaching his room with the physician by his side stopped on seeing him. “Derek?” He called, Derek turns to him.

“Diana is gone, he took her.” He said weakly.

“Who took her?” Edward asked, confused.

Alpha Derek furrowed his brows, “ You didn’t see him?”

“ See who?” He asked back. “Derek are you really alright?”

“Someone tried to use Diana’s image to deceive me and he took her away with him. He said he was going to make her his bride.”

Edward exchange glance with the physician. “ Derek. . .”

“ You think I’m crazy, don’t you?”

“I didn’t say you are crazy and neither did I think of it. We just want to make it clear to you that no one came into this castle and Diana, your mate, is very much fine and safe than you think.”

“ I think I’m dreaming.”

“ No, you are not dreaming. Diana said you two were having a good time together drinking tea in her room, then all of a sudden youfell and passed out. I think you are the one who isn’t safe.”

Alpha Derek sighed, rubbing his eyes. “ I think I need some rest.”

Edward turned to the physician, “ Take care of him.” He left.

The physician trailed behind alpha Derek as he walked into his room, heading towards his bed.

Not quite long the door open, and Diana walked in. Derek and the physician moved their gaze at her at the same time. She stood still by the door.

“Sorry. I think I should come back later.” She turned to leave, but halted by the sound of his voice.

“Stay.”

Diana shyly walked to the bed, watching as the physician mixed some concortion into a wooden cup, giving it to him to drink.

“I’ll be back tonight to see if there is any positive changes in you.”

“ Thank you.” The physician bowed, turning to leave.

“ Doctor.” Diana called as he made it to the door. She went to him, “Will he be alright?” She whispered.

He nodded his head. “ His wolf was able to fight the shock, but his body. . . it’s slowly recovering but I can assure you, he will be fine before tomorrow.” He said in a low tone.

“ Thank you, doctor.”

“ It’s my duty to take care of His majesty. I’ll take my leave now.”

Diana looked at Derek who was staring back at her. “ He said you’ll be fine.”

“ I know.”

She walks back to his bed, standing. “You’re my mate, Diana, you shouldn’t be treating me the way others do.”

“ I. . . I ju. . .” He held her hand, pulling her to sit on the bed beside him. He looked fainty like was gonna pass out again.

“Y- your. . . Majesty. Y… you don’t look o. . .” He falls on her arms.

“ I don’t want you to call me that anymore,” his voice sounded weak and low. “ I want you to call me by my name.” He fainted.
