Se connecterAriel is so angry with Alaska flirting with another woman, she sits looking perforated as if she was going to burst at any time. Alaska who doesn’t know she went out of the room sits beside her worrying that they might have bullied her.
“Did any of them bullied you?” he whispers to her. Ariel turns to look at him angrily, if she could push him away, she could have pushed him away the moment he leans towards her.
Alaska wonders what has happened while he left. But for the first time there Ariel said something.
“I feel tired, I think I should leave”
Everyone was surprise to hear her voice firm and bold, she instantly picks up her bag and leaves. Alaska was equally surprise.
“My wife must be tired because of the pregnancy” he quickly finds something to say and followed her immediately.
“What was that about?” Alaska asks angrily when they both gets into the car; he was somehow embarrassed with Ariel leaving the get together like that. Ariel kept quiet and don’t answer.
Alaska feels frustrated with her attitude, he had been really lenient with her and now she shows him attitude.
“Miss, can you tell me why you had to leave without prior notice?”
“Should I have stayed?” She cut Alaska off, which shock him.
“You should ask yourself that question and not me” she lashed.
Alaska could not believe such disrespect; he has really been gentler with her that she felt she was now untouchable. Though he and his men have respect towards women because of his past but he will not tolerate someone that disrespectful.
Jefrey who waited in the car wonders what has happened between the two inside.
“What did you mean I should ask myself? I did everything to stand up for you in there, but all you do is embarrass me”
“Oh! Did I embarrass you? I’m really sorry for the embarrassment” she put her two palms together sarcastically.
“And you were saying you stand up for me in there. Should have stand up for myself? Did I bring myself into this mess? No!” Ariel is so angry that she doesn’t know when she starts to say all that.
Alaska looks at her amazed, he clearly knew he had done nothing wrong to her but she seems to be finding trouble.
“Why do I have to be in this mess because of a monster like you. I lost everything, I lost Jack, my life and happiness to be with someone like you and still you think you can treat me anyhow you want. If you don’t need me why did have to force me to marry you to ruin my life?” she feels enraged.
To her, since Alaska is flirting with another woman then he should have taken that woman and get married to her, not forcing her to be in marriage with him and still flirting with another woman.
“Do you really think you are untouchable now because I have been a little soft with you!” Alaska becomes so furious with every of Ariel’s words. He grabs her neck and pins it to the chair.
Ariel feared for her life looking like a scared cat under Alaska’s hold. Alaska stares at her intently having bloodshot in his eyes, he indeed has respect for females because of her sister whom he had lost when they were still in the orphanage but Ariel sure was pushing her lucky, he has many ways of dealing with her even though she is a woman.
He is Alaska after all.
Ariel gasps for breath struggling to get freed from him but he did not let go and wanted her to feel the heat of death before he could let go of her neck.
Ariel coughs, her eyes red from the shortness of breath.
“Next time, you have to think before you say any nonsense to me!”
Ariel nods her head shaking like a wet cat. Alaska is so furious, thinking about Jack whose debt he had cancel because of Ariel and his money which he uses in borrowing her, he could not but feel more angered.
He thinks treating her with leniency will make her understand he only need her for the marriage because he had paid handsomely for her but she kept repeating the name Jack in front of him.
Alaska was not offended with all Ariel had said but because she had mentioned Jack’s name before him.
“And do not mention the name of that bastard before me forever” he warned her.
Alaska believes Ariel will be easy to deal with but since she has gone overboard, he believes taming her will be the best thing.
When they got into the estate, he was still angry and turn to Jefrey.
“Lock her up in her room and don’t let her out until I say so” he commands. Jefrey sigh, he actually pitied Ariel but he knew he had to obey Alaska.
Two of Alaska’s men dragged her into her room and lock up the room. Ariel looks at the tight locked door, she starts to cry.
Looking at everything that unfold between her and Alaska in the car, she wonders why she was so enraged because he sees Alaska flirting with another lady. He did not love him anyways why did she mind if he was flirting with another woman or not.
Alaska sits in his study, he had the contract of the borrowed marriage with Jack with him, he read the conditions for the third time.
He was clearly angry but he knew any of his anger was not towards Ariel but to Jack and probably to himself, he feels that Ariel is innocent just like his sister whom he had lost fifteen years ago.
He blames himself for being too hard on her but he believes he had no choice, deep down he knew he was breaking his own rules all because of her even though he did not know why he was doing that.
“Don, I don’t think you should continue to keep it from her” Jefrey who had been watching him staring at the contract in his hand said.
“I think she is acting like that towards you because she thinks you really kill her fiancé” he adds. Jefrey could see that Alaska feels sad because of how he had treated Ariel in the car.
“Why should I tell her all that? I don’t need to explain myself to her. I only need her to play her role as my wife for the election and that’s it”
Jefrey sigh, it was obvious that Alaska wanted Ariel to know that Jack was the one who sold her, and that Jack is a jerk but he was denying it. Deep down Alaska really wants to tell Ariel to forget Jack but he seems to feel guilty towards her because did not want her to know he had brought her marriage.
Alaska takes big strides as he walks back to his study. He knows his words will actually hurt her and that is exactly what he wanted. Those words are not only for Ariel but for himself too. He notices he has been changing and feels different from the person he knew himself to be whenever he was with Ariel. He thinks it is dangerous for him, so he wants to use those words to set boundaries between them, because he knew he will have to return her back to Jack after the contract is over. He sits on the chair in his study and bring out the contract, he stares at it for a long time and sigh. Then he brought his tobacco and lights it, he takes a big gulp from the tobacco feeling bad for hurting Ariel with his words. He will rather let her misunderstand him. The photoshoot was schedule for the next day. After what Alaska told her yesterday, Ariel has been feeling so bad. She had wanted to believe those words she heard from Alaska’s men though she doubt it will be a lie, but she thinks it
Jefrey wonders why Alaska wanted a new phone all of a sudden. “Don, the new phone is here” he brought it to him. Alaska sits in a rear corner at the last floor watching from above as people gamble and play with their money. There’s wine before him; he sips from his glass watching. “Good” he places the glass of wine in his hand on the table and took the new phone from Jefrey. “Don, why do you suddenly need new phone?”“I don’t need phone. It’s for her”“Her?” Jefrey wonder who the her is, but then he realizes he must be talking about Ariel. Alaska has personally destroyed Ariel’s phone on the wedding day and give orders to restrict her from getting contact with any phone but he bought phone for her now. Jefrey looks at Alaska’s face, he did not have any readable expression but Jefrey knew Alaska is gradually changing from whom he had known. “Don, what did you think about her?”Jefrey wanted to know if his thought about Ariel and Alaska was right. He thinks Alaska might have taken
A big smile is plastered on Alaska’s face as he descends downstairs, he really enjoys himself while feeding Ariel the food. It reminds him so much of his lost sister. Alaska and her younger sister were left at the orphanage by their drunkard father. While in the orphanage, Alaska did everything to protect her sister, feeding her food. There were so many children in the orphanage that no one was available to feed children of their age and they had to feed themselves, but Alaska will feed her sister and takes beatings for her from the bullies in the orphanage. But after Alaska was adopted by his godfather to Russia, he was separated from his sister for fifteen years. Which was the main reason he came back to Alaska, he tries to look for his sister after he came back but there was no information of her, Alaska has since then been searching for her and trying to find clues about his lost sister. Ariel really reminds him so much of her sister, which was why he was soft with her and it w
Ariel thought Alaska was going to leave her room after what he did but he remain on the bed sitting down. “What are you still doing here?” She asks him after changing into another cloth. “What did you mean? This is my estate and my house. I can stay wherever I want” he ignores her. He had come to the room to make her eat something; he wouldn’t leave if she did not eat. He wanted to force her to eat before, but after what had happened, he believes it will be too cruel of him to force her to eat. Alaska had call Sissy to clean up the wasted food and get another one. “Don’t you want to lock me in anymore?” Ariel wanted him to leave. She still felt wrong about him seeing part of her body up close. Alaska ignores her, Ariel sigh.“You can stay all you want” she lay down on the bed pretending she wanted to sleep. “You have to eat!” Alaska tells. “It is my stomach and my body. I can do whatever I like” Since Alaska tells her it’s is his estate and house he can stay wherever he wants
The soft click of the door lock makes Ariel sigh, she feels like crying, she had been locked in her room like a prisoner and she can’t even do anything about it. Before, she had been allowed to leave her room but now, she was locked up. Ariel looks at the food tray on the table, she doesn’t even feel a thing, as if she had no life left in her anymore. She had not touched her food at all, she wondered when she will be allowed to leave her room again. Probably she had really overstepped her boundaries this time. She hadn’t eaten ever since she was locked in and had not changed her clothes too, she doesn’t know if she was actually protesting or punishing herself. But she believes she had done nothing wrong; Alaska indeed forced her into the marriage and did something evil to Jack. “But why did he hate Jack so much?” she thinks and sigh, frustrated about her life. She looks at the door tightly locked and blinked back her tears. “Could he have killed Jack?” thinking about it, ever sin
