Chapter 19

I opened the door and behold was Xavier.

Right now there was a mixture of both excited and trouble. I was excited because... Well... Can't explain.

I was troubled because if his mother finds out... Did he know what his mother was doing?

Before I could ask what he was doing when he pulled me close hugging me. My heart leaped.

His manly cologne feels my nose. Once again in two weeks, I felt safe. I hugged him back. It felt like a dream. A movie.

Well if it was a dream I don't want to wake up.

What the hell was I doing?! He is going to get married or maybe he has already gotten married!

I was about to pull away, but he held me tighter. "Stay still." He ordered.

Don't know why but my body obeyed that command, my body was betraying me. After what seemed like hours, we pulled away.

But I was surprised by the death glare he sent to me.

"What the hell were you thinking? I never thought you were that stupid." He spat out.

My nostrils flared. The nerves of this guy. Just a moment ago it seemed like he wants me close, safe and all, and now...

"What?"

"Why? Are you deaf? On top of your stupidity?"

The need to strangle him was so strong in me, but I can't do that, so I will just ask him to leave.

"Leave." I gritted out, he didn't seem fazed by it, he was amused.

"Why are you here? Who told you about this place?"

"It is none of your buses-" I was about to snap back.

"You owe me, miss Hayden."

I forget about that. "I'll pay you back." I snapped. "You will?" He was enjoying this.

I hated him so much.

"When?"

"When I have the money."

"By then we would be skeletons." He mused. I shot him a glare.

"You would start working tomorrow."

"What? No! I can't work there, your mother-" I cut myself off.

This was what he was trying to get out of me. To say why I had left. I am sure he figured it out.

"My... Mother...?" He asked unbelievably. His jaw clenched.

"But still, you should have told me personally before leaving."

"I'm sorry. I had to keep my family safe." I whispered.

Just then Layla walked out. Wow. Great timing.

Her eyes landed on Xavier. "Whoa. Who are you?" She said flirty, walking closer. I rolled my eyes.

I stood in front of Xavier before she could get closer. "Layla, meet Xavier my..... Ex boss."

"Xavier... My pleasure meeting you, can I call you Xav?" She asked hopefully. I have never seen her like this.

"No."

"Okay, so... Is there anything going on between you and my sister, Lily?" Sister. She never called me her sister. She was probably asking if anything was going on between us and would make a move if there wasn't.

Nothing was going on. It is a boss and employee thingy.

"Yes." He replied after some time making me choke on my breath. Is choking on your breath normal?

"Oh." Was her reply back.

"No no. Nothing is going on between us... It is just a boss and-" Xavier cuts me off by pulling me to him, our sides touched.

What was he doing?!

"Yes, we are in a relationship." What was he trying to do or say?

"Xavier-" he cuts me off again by pulling me closer to him.

"Okay. Nice to meet you." She said to Xavier, before motioning to me that she was going out. Layla has changed a little lately. She became a little bit softer.

Immediately she was out, I shrugged away from him. "What was that for?! Nothing is going on between the two of us and you're engaged for Christ's sake!" I told him with a scowl on my face.

"I broke off the engagement." He said like it was a casual thing to say.

"Why?"

"I love someone else." He said. I was jealous. Whoever that girl was...

"Oh." That was my reply.

"You're not going to ask me who I'm in love with?" He asked. I didn't want to know and I want to know. It's not wrong in asking who right? I was scared to ask who...

"Ask." He demanded.

Sigh. "W-who?." I asked slowly.

"You."

My heart stopped beating and I should probably be dead. Maybe I didn't hear him well...

"M-me?" Just wanted to be sure.

"Yes." He replied. My heart was beating so fast. It was going to explode any moment from now. He admitted to liking- no love me.

"Oh." I scratched the back of my head. His eyes were piercing through me.

What should I say? What should I do?

I walked out to the balcony, slowly. So many things running through my mind.

I could feel him behind me. "I don't like you," I said after standing on the balcony for a while.

"Your body says another thing." He chuckled. It was so rich.

I liked him. But he is engaged. I broke off the engagement. Oh. Should I tell him I liked him too?

But where would that get us to? I contemplated for a moment. My lips shivering.

I turned to face him.

"I love you too." Okay, I didn't plan on saying love, it just came out without my permission.

I was losing control of my body...

He cupped my face and just like that, our lips crushed together.

Third Person's POV:

Xavier and Lily were having a romantic time, they had confessed their love together. Kissing passionately.

Jack stood a little bit far from them, his jaw and fist clenched. He had given Lily enough space. He was going to go beyond limits to get her back now.

Paisley was in her car watching them both. Her hands tightened on the staring wheel, her knuckles turned pale. She glared at them both with her teary eyes. She wasn't going to let Xavier go.
