My smile grew.
I turned around to see Layla opening the freezer and Carrie poking her teddy bear.
They were real.
"I would prepare something for you now and then you'd go have some rest, you look tired," Layla said as if I was lost and found one.
I am surprised she does rare.
"No no. I'd do that myself, go relax, please." She sighed before walking to a nearby chair and sitting down on it.
I have lots of questions to ask her, but what she seems to need right now is to eat and rest.
Carrie on the other hand looked so good and so much healthy. I am happy about it, but it only got me more curious.
Does Xavier know who did this?
Grandma. I remembered what Daisy said earlier.
Grandma? She was with grandma?
My mom wasn't alive. Jack's mother? That's her only grandma. Lots of questions flew through my mind.
The food was ready soon enough. I served it on a plate before putting it on the dining table, Layla had gone to take her bath.
Serving Carrie, I watched her as she dug in. Soon Layla came out and immediately started eating.
~
After Layla and Carrie finished eating, they had slept off, in their room. Daisy didn't want to sleep but I had to make her, she looked somewhat tired.
I was on my phone in the living room. Some part of me was waiting for Xavier to call.
I haven't heard from him since this afternoon when he sent me that message.
Should I call him? No! He should be the one to call first.
That's not good, after all, he helped me find my family. I looked at his number one more time before pressing call.
It rang 4 times before he took it. Silence on the other end. "Hello?" It was barely a whisper. "Hang up, I'm busy." And with that, the line went off.
A sharp pain suddenly on my chest, he didn't want to talk to me? He was tired of me? Like yes, I'm pretty sure he is tired of the drama I have caused in his life.
I snapped my head up when I noticed Layla. "Are you crying?" She asked.
I suddenly noticed my eyes were wet. "Of course not, why would I cry at this moment, it's the happiest moment of my life."
"Then where did those come from? Are your eyes rainy?" She asked motioning to the tears in my eyes.
You could hear the sarcasm dripping from her tone, but I know she does love me.
"Layla, can I ask you some questions?"
"Lily, I need to talk to you." We said at the same time.
"Okay, you first." We said at the same time again and we burst out laughing.
"It's okay Lily, ask first." She assured us immediately that our laughs stopped. I sighed before I continued.
"Okay. W-was it that man you told me about the one who did this?"
"It wasn't him, Lily. The person who did this had come to where we were staying before we moved here."
What?
"I saw him talking to the men who had taken me..."
Who was it? Two men came to that house, Jack and Xavier. "J-jack?"
"Yes, I know it sounds stupid but his mother is the only grandma Daisy has, and it's possible he was the one."
He was the one who did this, I was suffering because of this and he also pretended to be on my side.
Why would he do that?
"He's not a good person, Lily. How did you even fall for him in the first place." She scowled, no doubt she was really angry.
It had just happened, I thought we'd spend the rest of our lives together, I was really happy back then.
"It's okay, you don't have to feel bad for something you don't know about, you never knew any of this would ever happen." She tried to console me when she noticed my expression.
"I'm just glad you all are okay, thank god nothing bad had happened."
"Yeah. I have to go and buy something." My eyes widened, I know that she would go out at some point, but I can't help but feel like this would repeat itself.
"Don't worry, the place isn't exactly far from here, I would be back soon." She walked out without waiting for my response.
She has always been this stubborn.
I sighed going to Carrie's room and of course, she was still sleeping. It's been like an hour now.
I looked at her sleeping form for another five minutes before coming out, I had to cook dinner.
I was in the middle of cooking when I heard a car beeping in front of the house. Who was there? Maybe it was just my imagination.
I ignored it and continued what I was doing. It beeped louder this time.
Okay, it wasn't my imagination.
I walked to the glass window looking out, I spotted Xavier. What? I thought he was too busy for me and now he's at my house disturbing me.
I walked to the door, opened it, and stepped out. I threw him a death glare.
"Took you long enough." He said looking amused. He looks so handsome.
Do I seriously have to pick that out? "What do you want." I sighed before I continued, he had helped me and I should be grateful.
"We are going out for dinner." He rolled his eyes before saying that. What? Did he just say dinner? "I am busy," I said rephrasing what he had said earlier.
If he was going to ask for a date, he should ask nicely. But I wasn't going to go either way.
He sighed frustratingly before walking to where I was, taking my hand in his he took me to the car. "Enter." He ordered.
"You know I can't, I have a family to take care of inside that hous-"
I stopped when I saw that lady who was taking care of Carrie when I wasn't around, she held a jogging Daisy's hand.
"She is here, now let's go." He stated like it was the most random thing to say.
The nerves of this man.
"What about my sis-"
"She knows." She does?
For no reason, exactly my face turned pink. Why the hell was I blushing?!
Had he planned this earlier? My inner giggled. "Fine." I finally said to Xavier. I took Daisy from the lady, telling her to thank you, I got into the car.
Sitting Carrie on my lap, she was suddenly giggling. Xavier entered and the car started moving.
"Mommy, you promised to buy me ice cream, you didn't." She said using her hand as if she wanted money for it.
Where did she learn that from?
I gasped when Xavier gave her money, "retu-"
Before I could finish, she had already shoved it into her pocket.
We drove for like 40 mins, we stopped at a huge mansion. I thought we were going to a restaurant or something. He came out and walked passed me. I scowled.Holding Carrie's hand I trailed behind him. There were men in suits, they stood at the entrance of the house but they separated when I was about to pass. Whoa.I quickly passed, entering a big building, some people were arranging the hall, maybe they were going to be a party, I guess."Yeah, this is her." I saw Xavier talking to a lady, she nodded at me and motioned for me to follow her. I raised an eyebrow confusingly before I followed her.We reached a room, i walked in with her. Did he bring us here so we could sleep here? Of course not, why would he do that? I sat Carrie on the bed. "I suggest you go take a bath now." She said. Why? "I'd be right back." She walked out. I slapped my face frustratingly. I moved to the door where the bathroom must be. And there was a bathtub, I'm pretty sure they had kept something inside that wat

I flattered my eyes open. I was on my bed. How did I get here? I was in the living room last night. I tried catching what happened. But it wouldn't come.I slowly got up from the bed and went into the bathroom, I quickly got took my bath and got ready. Another day of searching. I had to do it.Rushing out of the room to the living room, I stopped when I saw food plates on the dining table, who put those there? I moved closer to it. Opening it, my eyes widened.Who kept these here? I was pretty sure this food cost a lot and it smells so good. You're already lost in it? Did a magical goddess come in here last night? Seriously? What the hell am I thinking?! Now is not the time to think of this like this.I sighed. Maybe all of this was my imagination, or somebody did come in here, didn't I lock the door? My eyes caught a paper behind one of the plates."Eat, you are skinny enough." It says. I recognized this handwriting... It was Xavier's. I consciously looked at myself. I've loosed lots
"Layla?" I called immediately after I reached home, "Carrie??" My voice was shaky but my reply was dead silence. What should I do? I have to tell the cops immediately. I think I should go to their office, rather than calling them. I quickly rush to take my phone and purse, before darting out of the house.I called a cab to the nearest cops center, throughout the ride, I couldn't think straight.Did that man do this? Oh god. My Carrie, she must be crying so hard now. I wiped the tears that slipped out of my eyes.I rushed out immediately after the cab stopped. Going in I knew this was a lot of processes. I sighed. I made a complaint and they had asked me where they had been last and where they were going to.I gave them all the necessary information and just like that they had asked me to go home and relax. Relax? Seriously? Who would relax in a situation like this?~One Week Later:It has been a week. A week since I last saw them. The people I love so much... They all leave me at the
It wasn't Layla, she knows the password to the house.I went closer to the door looking through the peephole. My eyes widened.Jack.What was he doing here?! Should I open the door? Should I not open the door?Ugh! Just hear what he wants to say!No! Don't open the door! Two different voices screamed in my head.I slowly opened the door, standing at the edge. "What do you want." I snapped.I hated seeing his handsome face! Not as handsome as Xavier's though.Seriously?! Now is not the time to compare!"Can I come in?""No. Whatever you want to say, say it here." I know I was being rude but I can't help it, if I try being nice, then I'd start crying, I wanted him to think I was angry.I was mad at him though."Ah. Okay." He said. I waited for him to continue. Did he know about Xavier and Paisley?I was sure he knows Paisley."It's about Carrie." I tensed. He wanted to talk about Daisy. We can't talk about her outside here like this."Come in," I muttered stepping away from the door so
"I'm pregnant and it is Xavier's."What? Why did my heart shatter so much when I heard that? She and Xavier have been together for a long time...Maybe.Maybe Xavier and I were never meant to be. This was all a mistake. But you love him. Then I have to stop. I can't. I can't separate a child from his/her father. I stopped the tears from coming out."Congrats," I said to her and she looked shocked. She was probably expecting more reactions from me."Are you going to leave him? You have to leave him, Lily, I grew up without a father and it wasn't good, it caused me so much emotional pain and I don't want the same for my unborn child." She said in a pleading tone.Pleading? She is such a good actress."Yes."She beamed. "You're such a good person. Thank you." With that, she left.I went back in. "Are you seriously going to believe her? She can be lying for Christ's sake!" Layla asked. Are you okay? The first time she asked me that."Yes, yes. I'm okay. Where is Carrie?" I asked."She was
