Chapter 24

I flattered my eyes open. I was on my bed. How did I get here? I was in the living room last night. I tried catching what happened. But it wouldn't come.

I slowly got up from the bed and went into the bathroom, I quickly got took my bath and got ready. Another day of searching. I had to do it.

Rushing out of the room to the living room, I stopped when I saw food plates on the dining table, who put those there? I moved closer to it. Opening it, my eyes widened.

Who kept these here? I was pretty sure this food cost a lot and it smells so good.

You're already lost in it? Did a magical goddess come in here last night? Seriously? What the hell am I thinking?! Now is not the time to think of this like this.

I sighed. Maybe all of this was my imagination, or somebody did come in here, didn't I lock the door? My eyes caught a paper behind one of the plates.

"Eat, you are skinny enough." It says. I recognized this handwriting... It was Xavier's. I consciously looked at myself. I've loosed lots of weight.

There was another paper. "Do not leave the house." What the hell? I got people to look for, my family.

"Please." But why? I looked at the food again. It was so inviting. Okay. I've gone crazy.

I sat down on one of the chairs. Taking a fork, I dug in, slowly bringing it to my mouth. Okay, this is the best food I have ever eaten.

Xavier was here, just when I had thought he had forgotten about me, he showed up. Should I listen to him and not go out?

Then he would seem to be the boss of, don't listen.

Listen, Lily, relax.

Two voices said in my head. I have no idea why he said I shouldn't leave the house.

Exactly, you have no idea, I'm sure he just wants you to relax, but relaxing isn't the best option right now.

Okay, that voice has a point.

No. Relax. It could be for your safety.

I was confused in my thoughts, I don't know what to do.

I sat back on the chair.

Third Person's POV,

"You fucking did what?!" Jack growled at Paisley who looked scared at first but masked it with braveness.

"I had to, I'm sorry." She tried to make it seem as if she was also mad, but fear took over her, the look on Jack's face was scary and his eyes were masked with fury.

"You. Fucking. Told. Him. What?!" He moved towards her as Paisley tried to move backward.

"I'm sorry..."

"How is sorry going to fix this?!" He screamed at her.

Paisley had never been so scared in her life. She gulped and built up a little courage.

"You can't do anything to me." She replied.

"Oh. I can't? How about he knows the bastard in you isn't his." He hissed at her. Her eyes widened.

She had told Xavier who took Layla and Carrie, Xavier had managed to get it out of her.

She thought she could stab Jack in the back without him knowing of it.

"No, please. Don-"

"Sent." He wasn't in control of himself at that moment, all he could see was red.

"You fucking bas-" she didn't finish her sentence, she was pinned to the wall by her neck.

"Don't fuck with me." He growled in her ear.

"I... C-can't breath." She managed to let out. Her face was turning pale white.

He left her after some time. His plan failed, it backfired on him. He should have been more careful.

Paisley fell to the floor coughing, if he hadn't removed his hand some seconds ago, she was sure she'd have been dead.

A cry left her lips, everything was ruined. She was going to lose Xavier... Again.

Jack was worried Lily might find out he was the one who took the people she loves from her. The hate she has for him now was making him go insane and if she finds out, his chance with her is impossible.

Xavier knows.

It was easy for Xavier to get his answers, after all, he was a very smart person. Just immediately he had managed to get answers out of Paisley, he had his private investigators look for Layla.

His phone beeped. Looking at his phone, it was from an unknown number. He clicked open the message.

He wasn't exactly surprised.

And again, his phone rang.

Lily's POV:

I was looking out the window for no particular reason. I was just restless, I guess.

I paced back and forth the house, okay, no I'd go and try searching, I took the leaflets of Layla and Lily, and just when I reached the door, it dinged.

Who was there? Nobody ever comes to see me, I looked through the peephole.

Okay, was I dreaming again? If I was, I never want to wake up.

Tears slipped down my eyes. It wasn't tears of sorrow but tears of joy, something I thought I would never have again.

I opened the door. Layla. She hugged me immediately. "I thought I would never see you again." She cried and I hugged her back holding her like if I let her go, she might disappear and never come back.

"Mommy." It was Carrie. She looked happy though, she held a pink teddy bear.

"My baby." I bent down to her level, hugging her. Just in case this is a dream, I wish never to wake up.

It felt so unreal and wonderful, it was too good to be true...

"How did you get here? Who brought you here?" I asked Layla.

"Some guys in black." She said, she probably didn't know them. "Mommy, I've been with grandma, she bought me a lot of things and sweets." She giggled.

Grandma?

"She wasn't happy I was going, but she said she would visit." Her speech was getting better.

"Ugh. Let's go in. I'm hungry." Layla said rolling her eyes. She was back.

"Yes, come I'd prepare something for you to eat."

"I want ice cream," Carrie complained.

"We'd go get some, later."

"Hmm hmm." She replied. We all got inside, I was smiling widely right now. More tears slipped out.

My phone beeped. "Have a nice day ;(" it was Xavier.

He was the one who had brought my family together.

My smile grew.
