Chapter 2

مؤلف: Wishing Heart
Blake's POV

The inner mental world that I had barely pieced back together with my flimsy will shattered once again.

I rushed toward Logan like a madman and beat him up. I even recorded a video and was about to send it to his mother-in-law.

However, Wynnie stopped me with a slap and said, "I was in a bad mood that day and had too much to drink. If you can't accept it, then let's get divorced!"

In a bad mood? Back then, the thing I feared the most was her feeling unhappy with me. The moment she frowned, I would panic and wonder if she found my body dirty and disgusting.

I had knelt on the floor and begged desperately. I didn't want a divorce. I had even washed and rubbed my body frantically.

I had pitifully believed that Wynnie's affair was my fault!

Wynnie pulled my emotionally unstable self into her arms. "Blake, don't do this! The doctor said you shouldn't undergo any emotional distress with your condition right now. Be good and don't make a scene.

"If Margaret finds out and gets upset, her baby might not survive. Everyone will blame you by then. I'm doing this for your own good."

Only now did I understand that she had never been thinking of me. She simply didn't want Logan's dream of marrying into wealth and status to be cut short before he could attain it.

When Wynnie saw how pale my face had become, she thought I had once again been frightened because she had brought up divorce.

She said softly, "Blake, as long as you behave, the three of us can live happily together as a family. You've had a long day. Get some rest. I'll take care of the baby."

That night, Sam cried three or four times in the room next door. Wynnie comforted him by herself. She didn't come to see me, and I didn't go over to them either.

The next day was Sam's sip and see. As I sat in my room listening to the guests praise how adorable he was, I felt nothing at all.

Suddenly, the bedroom door opened.

A cheerful voice rang out. "Blake, why aren't you coming out?"

Logan walked in, holding the hand of five-year-old Benny Jameson.

The moment Benny saw me, he immediately ran over and threw himself at me. "Uncle Blake, I missed you so much!"

That little face looked exactly like Margaret Silva's, but his eyes resembled mine so closely. The things I had never been able to understand before finally made sense.

In an instant, my stomach churned violently.

Behaving as if I'd seen a demon or a monster, I shoved Benny away and screamed shrilly, "Get away! Don't touch me!"

Benny fell hard onto his backside. He froze, but Logan laughed.

In the past, whenever he saw Benny being close to me, he would always make sarcastic remarks.

Last Father's Day, Benny had given me a gift as well. Logan had flown into a rage and deliberately kissed Wynnie right in front of me.

"You steal my son, and I'll steal your wife!" he had said.

I had wanted to rush forward and tear into him, but Wynnie had stopped me.

"You accepted a Father's Day gift from his son. He only kissed me once. It's not a big deal."

All I could do was go mad and smash everything in sight.

Yet, Logan seemed to have discovered an amusing dynamic. As long as Benny treated me well, he would act intimate with Wynnie. Then, he would smile as he watched me lose control again and again, with Wynnie taking his side.

Logan glanced at Benny, who was sitting on the floor, but made no move to pick him up.

He said teasingly, "What's wrong, Blake? Benny likes you more than anyone. He just wanted to be close to you. While you were taking care of Wynnie as she was recovering from childbirth, he talked about wanting to come see you every day."

Right then, Wynnie walked in carrying Sam. She frowned unhappily and looked at Logan.

"Didn't I tell you not to bring him here?" she said.

After coaxing Benny out of the room, Logan affectionately wrapped his arm around Wynnie's and said in a spoiled tone, "I thought Blake would want to hold his son."

So, he had already known what Wynnie confessed to me. He had deliberately brought Benny here just to disgust me!

Roaring with rage, I grabbed the vase beside me and hurled it.

Wynnie pulled Logan aside and dodged it, her eyes blazing with anger. "Blake, have you lost your mind?"

"I already have!" I lunged forward and grabbed Logan by the throat.

The next second, Wynnie kicked me away. I had no idea whether it was intentional or not, but her foot landed squarely between my legs. Cold sweat instantly poured down my face from the pain.

"Blake..." A trace of hesitation appeared in Wynnie's eyes as she started to walk toward me.

Suddenly, thick smoke billowed through the doorway and rushed inside.

"Oh no! There's a fire!" Without the slightest hesitation, Wynnie grabbed Logan and ran outside.

After being kicked by her, I lay weakly on the ground and didn't even have the strength to escape.

Just as I was choking on the smoke and nearly losing consciousness, a figure rushed into the room.

"Blake! Where are you?"

I forced myself to look at the woman's face clearly.

The moment I recognized her, my entire body froze. Those agonizing and painful memories filled my mind, coiling within me like thousands of venomous snakes.

"Hands off! Don't touch me!" I screamed hysterically and struggled with all my strength.

But Margaret firmly gripped my arm and pinned me down. It was just like how she had done it in that dark little room.

"Stop moving! Do you want to die?" she scolded.

Being touched by her felt worse than death. I struggled and screamed. As we made our way out, I lost all strength and vomited repeatedly.

When we finally reached safety, Margaret was so enraged by my scratching and clawing that she threw me right onto the ground.

I hit the ground hard. Everything went black, and I lost consciousness.

When I woke up, Wynnie wasn't by my side.

She only made a phone call and said, "I'm sorry. At the time, Logan was closest to me, and I was still carrying Sam. But as soon as I got outside, I told Margaret to go save you.

"I've been busy lately. I need to take care of Sam and deal with everything related to the fire. During your stay in the hospital, Margaret will take care of you."

Blake's POVWynnie froze.I stared at her and bellowed, "Wynnie, all of this is nothing but physical pain! What I had suffered was the most painful betrayal! I was deprived of a child I should have had! My dignity was trampled on the ground like it was trash that was free for stray mutts to tear apart!"My entire body was shaking as my voice rose higher and higher. Seeing me break down and accuse her openly, Wynnie panicked. The regret surging in her eyes was so overwhelming that it was impossible to hide.I continued, "You guys destroyed me! I want your lives to rot and decay from this day forward until they're completely ruined!"I raised a hand and wiped away the tears at the corners of my eyes. Then, I took a deep breath. It was time to bring everything to an end.I pointed at the hidden camera attached to my chest. "See this? Everything that just happened was livestreamed through this camera."Wynnie shot to her feet. She stared at me in disbelief. After a long moment, al

Blake's POVBack then, Logan had treated that incident as casual gossip and spread it everywhere. I had hidden inside the house and didn't even dare step outside my bedroom. But what did Wynnie do? With just a few tears from Logan and just one claim that it had been "an unintentional mistake", she easily forgave him. She even took him out to cheer him up when she saw him crying. It had taken me a full six months before I dared to leave the house again.Wynnie's eyes dimmed.Once again, she said those words I had grown sick of hearing. "I'm sorry. No matter what, I hope you won't do anything reckless. I'll take care of everything."After saying that, she turned and left with determination, like she had made up her mind about something.Soon enough, less than three hours later, she told me she had taken care of everything. She brought me back to our former home.Logan and Margaret were at the top of the second-floor staircase, their hands and feet tied to chairs."It all started

Wynnie's POVLogan's eyes widened as he let out a shrill scream. "Have you lost your mind? How can you destroy my happiness for the sake of an outsider like Blake? I'm your brother!"I let out a cold laugh. "When you climbed into my bed, did you ever remember that you were my brother? It was all your fault. You ruined the life that Blake and I had together. If it hadn't been for you, we'd have been living a peaceful life with a child of our own. We would've been so happy!"Logan sneered, and his face dripped with malice. "Climbed into your bed? Out of the two times we slept together, weren't you the one who came to me? You think forcing Margaret to divorce me will help you win Blake back? Dream on! He hates you! He'll never forgive you for the rest of his life!""Shut up!" The veins on my neck bulged as my chest rose and fell violently. "Margaret, make your choice. Do you want this worthless man or your precious son?"Just then, the butler hurried into the room. "Mr. and Mrs. Jame

Wynnie's POVWhen I woke up in the hospital, there was no one by my side.I ignored the doctor's attempts to stop me and left the hospital with a bandage still wrapped around my head. Stumbling all the way, I made my way to the garbage processing site where my first child had been buried.Other than the day of the burial, I had never returned to that place. I owed that child far too much. But when I arrived, the scene before me made my heart sink to my stomach. The protective amulets placed over the spot where my child was buried had been broken into pieces. The small mound of earth had long since been dug open.A few employees from the garbage processing site were chatting nearby."A couple of days ago, some guy came here and dug around in the pouring rain. I thought he was looking for buried treasure or something. But he dug up an urn. It scared the hell out of me!""That man cried his heart out while holding the little urn. It was pitiful. What kind of monster would bury the

Wynnie's POVIt was a maternity test between Sam and me.My eyes locked onto the final line that read, "Wynnie Moore is excluded from being the biological parent of Sam Ingham."The world became terrifyingly silent in an instant. All I could hear was my own heavy breathing and the dull ache in my heart.Sam wasn't my son!How was that possible? I had carried him for ten months. How could he not be my child? This had to be fake. Blake must have forged it to get back at me.Fury blazed in my chest. Like a madwoman, I tore the maternity test into pieces and scattered the scraps across the floor.Suddenly, I noticed some writing on the back of the report. I threw myself to the ground and pieced together the shredded fragments. There were two passages written on it. The first had been written the day after I had given birth. It read, "Honey, I don't know if I'll ever have the courage to show you this report. Actually, Sam is not our child. Our baby had stopped breathing the moment

Blake's POVThe moment I walked through the door, I ran straight into Wynnie and Logan with their bodies tangled together on the couch. They didn't show the slightest trace of embarrassment at being caught.Without even sparing them a glance, I simply walked past them. By the time Logan entered the bedroom, I was packing my luggage. He was wearing satin pajamas that barely covered anything. His exposed skin had intimate marks all over it."Blake, Margaret slept with you for free for so many days. I only slept with Wynnie twice. I'm still the one who got the short end of the stick," he remarked.I ignored him and continued packing my clothes.Seeing that I was ignoring him, he became irritated. He immediately snatched away the little outfit I had knitted by hand for my first child and threw it on the ground. Then, he stepped on it.He jeered, "He's dead. What's the point of keeping this? You probably don't know this, do you? While you were crying over the loss of your child, I t
