Chapter 24
"Stop crying, Emily." Daniel soothed. Removing his hands from his lap, he moved it over my head, placing it on my shoulder. He pulled me closer to him, letting me cry on his chest as he smoothed my hair.
I felt terrible. I felt like I'd actually been the cause of my problems all this while. I felt like I could have done something to stop all that happened but I didn't.
"I'm not saying you're a bad person for staying with him all this while," Daniel said, as though he was reading my thoughts, and from the way he said it, I had a strong feeling he was. "I'm only saying that you should have thought hard and well before getting married to him. Now this has happened in less than three days and you've moved. Nobody moves out of their matrimonial home days after their marriage."

My cheeks turned pink and I felt the heat spread around my face. Adam called me beautiful. After we paid for the phone and got of the mall, it immediately occurred to me that I hadn't gotten any groceries, and other stuff I'd need in the house. I told Daniel this as we got into the car but he told me not to worry, that he knew a better place for us to shop for groceries and stuff.
