Mom and Dad came later in the night, and I went to bed shortly after dinner, and dozed off almost immediately.

"Hello Daniel." Emily said.
"Hi Emily." I replied
We were in Emily's room, sitting on her bed.
"So, so you care for a drink?" She asked.
"Oh yeah, sure." I said.
She went off to the kitchen and came back with a transparent glass cup and a bottle of Hennessy.
She sat on the bed and began pouring the liquid into the glass cup.
"Uhm, Emily I don't drink alcohol." I said, hoping she'd just take those away and come back with some fruit juice.
"That's nonsense, come on its not that bad. I'll pour just a little."
"Okay, just a little." I said, with my eyes almost popping out of their sockets when I saw the amount she poured.
"Here you go." She offers me the cup.
"Its too much Emily, I can't take all of this at a go."
"Take it if you really love me or leave my life!"
"Oh- o- okay, I'll take it." I foolishly said.
I gulped it all in seconds. It tasted sour and bitter at the same time. I almost puked it all back out but decided to prove to Emily that I loved her.
"I'll be right back." She said, leaving the room.
In a matter of seconds, the room seemed to start spinning, and everything looked all blurred. I knew it was as a result of the liquor I took and I thought it would pass in just a bit, but I was wrong. Very wrong.
Headache started to set in as my head throbbed in response to my heartbeat. Then my stomach started to twist.
"Arghhh!" I cried out in pain as I fell to the ground.
Then I saw a figure, two figures standing in front of me.
"Emily?" I called.
That was when I saw that it was Emily and Adam standing in front of me beaming with smiles, and Adam with an axe in hand.
I shrieked.
Emily laughed and Adam joined.
"E- Emily, what are you doing? The drink you made me take is really affecting me right now, and you're just standing there?!" I shouted, unaware that I had zero control of whatever event was taking place.
"Daniel, you're such a fool. Did you actually think that I could fall for someone like you? You're too much of a loser, and now you're gonna pay!" Emily yelled.
"Pay for what? What did I ever do to you?"
"Shut the fuck up!" Adam shouted, swinging the axe in his hand.
My vision was getting real worse.
"Do the thing." Emily said to Adam.
I stared hard and tried to focus on what Adam was trying to do.
He raised the axe as far back as he could, aiming at my head.
"Emily wha-" I couldn't complete my sentence because the axe was already in my neck.
My head was separated from the rest of my body by Adam's powerful chops.
"Haha haha..." Emily laughed alongside Adam, whose legs was drenched with blood oozing out of my neck.
And then I woke up.
"What the hell..."

After waking up from that dreadful dream, I sat up in my bed and prayed that it didn't come to pass. That was the first time in ages I prayed about a dream.

I got to school at exactly 7:30am that Monday. I then decided to go to the library to study a little, because our exams were fast approaching.
And to my surprise, I met Emily studying right where I usually sat.
"Hey cutey." She said.
Cutey.
"Oh, hi Emily."
I sat and asked, "Where's Adam?"
"I don't know, he's never at school this early so you shouldn't worry about him. At least for now." She chuckled.
Good.
"Alright." I said, trying to concentrate on reading my geology, but since when did I ever concentrate with Emily around?
"Emily, can I ask you a question?" I asked
"Yeah totally. Go ahead." She said, turning to face me.
"Uhm," I began. "You remember when I first met you? In math class, when I exchanged seats with Adam, and it seemed you were angry at me for some reason. Why?" I asked.
She sighed.
Why did she sigh?
"Okay, I was angry I admit. But not at you."
"Who then?" I asked. I needed to know these things.
"Adam."
Adam?
"Why?" I asked again.
"Ugh, why are you asking these questions?" She whined.
"Because I wanna know the answers." I replied
"Okay. I'll tell you. I was angry because... Well, Adam had been sitting with me since... You know, the transplant. And you coming to separate us would get him angry, and he usually takes out his anger on me. So I was angry because I knew Adam would take out his anger on me later." She finishes.
But I wasn't satisfied.
"How? I mean how does he take out his anger on you?"
"Daniel, that's not important." She looked uncomfortable so I decided to ask something else.
"Okay. But I still wanna ask two more questions."
She took a long, deep breath with her eyes closed.
"What is the first?"
"When we met for the second time, that you were at your locker, looking for something and I introduced myself and you-"
'I know where you're going with that." She interrupted. "You want to know why I was rude to you when you approached me. Right?"
"Exactly." I said.
"The truth is, that wasn't even my locker. It was Adam's locker, and he had ordered me to fetch his history note for him and I couldn't find it. I was already frustrated when you appeared. And that's why I was rude to you. And if your last question is how and why I fell in love with you so quickly, I'll be glad yo explain. After I was rude to you, I began to feel guilty because I realised it wasn't your fault. It was Adam's. And when I started feel guilty, I always tried to approach you to apologize but I just couldn't. In the process, I fell for you." She blurted.
"Oh. Its nice to hear that. Really. But actually, that wasn't my last question." I said.
"Daniel," She whined again. "When did you become so inquisitive?"
"Come on, they're just harmless questions."
"Okay, so what is your last question?"
"Do you drink alcohol?"
"What?" She asked, puzzled.
"Look, I had this crazy dream about you, and I need to know if-"
"Yo dude! What the fuck are you doing with my girlfriend?!" Someone interrupted.
I knew that deep, raspy voice.
My eyes soon found the huge figure standing at the library door.
It was Adam.
Oh gosh. I swallowed.
Daniel's POV.I gripped my right leg as unimaginable pain shot up my leg, causing me to yell in pain. I glanced down at my shot leg. My trousers were now wet with thick blood, dripping from the bullet wound. Everywhere was wet with blood. I could hardly focus on anything as a new surge of pain crept up my leg. I looked around. Everywhere was dark and creepy. No one was going to save me. I was hopeless. I was just going to die here. I could feel my sight getting all blurry. There was nothing I could do without yelling from the pain in my leg, I wanted to crawl up to the car and manage to drive to any nearby hospital but the idea soon dissolved in my head as I felt myself losing focus. I felt suddenly tired and yearned to lie my head on the ground as one yearned for water when thirsty. I didn't want to die. I couldn't die now, I just couldn't. But I was losing so much blood. I glanced down at my leg, blinking away the tears that had accumulated at my eyelids to se
Adam's lips trembled as the bat hit the ground after falling from his hand. His expression softened for a bit while he looked at me, but when he looked at Daniel, his expression became as hard as stone."I am going to kill you," Adam said to Daniel. I swallowed, unable to comprehend the events unfolding right in front of me."Adam..." I started, but I couldn't finish it. I couldn't say a word when Adam turned to look at me."You..." He pointed at me, taking one step towards me. I took one step back. He suddenly sighed as he stared at me, and brought his hand down. "How do you betray me like this?" His voice cracked. For the first time since I'd known Adam, I heard his voice crack. He sniffed as he continued. "You left our house...you left your home when I was I trouble. You ran away.""Adam, I didn't - ""No, don't interrupt me," Adam said in a cool voice. This was all too
After about thirty minutes of driving in absolute silence, we finally got to the mall, and, fortunately, we still had another thirty minutes to spare at the mall before they closed the place. As we got out of the car, I made sure to pick all my belongings, especially my phone, I couldn't afford to forget it the second time. Daniel looked at me and took his hand out of his pocket, sliding it in mine as we walked into the mall.Something in my heart fluttered. I was holding hands with Daniel."Don't hold my hand," I said as I tried to remove my fingers from his hand but he gripped my hand tighter."No," he simply said as we walked deeper into the building, nearing the escalator."Leave me," I protested, wiggling my fingers from his grasp. He sighed and finally let me go. I felt a little bad for myself, and him because as much as I wanted to hold hands with him, it just wasn't proper. I was pregnant and
"Come on, Daniel, hurry up," I urged, watching Daniel put on his right shoe, tying the laces as he struggled to button his sleeves at the same time.It was a month later, after I'd settled down in my new home and forgotten all about my past life. . .yeah, I wish I could. I never did. We were in Daniel's house the fateful evening, after Daniel had offered to take me on a shopping spree a few hours ago. I got all dressed up and prettied up only to come find Daniel sleeping in his house. When I woke him up, he'd confessed and told me that it was just a prank, and me, well, being me, forced him and made him agree to taking me on the spree. For two weeks, Daniel had been trying to teach me how to drive. He said it's simple and easy if you concentrate but I found it rather tough. I still hadn't gotten the hang of it yet.Daniel introduced me to a friend of his who worked at an oil and gas company, who said he liked
"For three? Wait, you want to- ""Yes, I want to eat some bacon, how hard is that to understand?!" She shot at me, earning herself a frown-y glare."O...kay, no need for the yelling," Daniel turned around and waved the spoon in his hand in the space between Ashley and I, "and the glaring." He said, looking at me. I shook my head, and waved Ashley off. She went to Daniel and put her arms around him, pressing her chest on his back. She could touch him for all I cared, but yelling at me was not part of the options she had to choose from the list of things that she could and couldn't do, in my own house."Uh, I'm cooking Ashley, get off me." Daniel said, trying to wiggle her off his back but she still held on tight. I stood there and just watched."Why? You smell so nice." She cooed. It made me want to puke, how she talked."Ugh, seriously I need you to get off me, I'm going to
"Hold on, let me get this," Daniel said, holding up one finger as I nodded to him. He brought his phone out of his shirt pocket and I moved towards the kitchen cabinet. I retrieved some frying pans and finally settled on a medium sized one to use to fry eggs. I was suddenly in the mood for Daniel's bacon and eggs and I wanted him to teach me how he made such a delicious delicacy."Good afternoon to you too, Ashley." I heard him say behind me. It was that Ashley girl again. Ugh, she had really perfect timing."Why are you asking that?" Daniel asked, walking slowly, to and fro the kitchen. I brought out some eggs from the bags Daniel had helped me carry inside and started to crack them."I know I've never had a problem with you asking where I am but...I don't know, I'm quite busy now, can we talk later?" He asked. I removed some eggshells from the bowl I cracked the eggs into and headed to the gas cooker to light it up.
