Seventeen

Sally's POV

My grandmother placed a steaming cup in front of me. I don't know what they did, but it tasted great and even smelled good. Unlike the dishes my grandparents made, they tasted so bitter that I wanted to vomit what I ate last night.

Immediately, the pounding headache I felt a few minutes ago, now miraculously disappeared. "What are you guys doing here?"

"That's a secret we'll never tell." My grandmother winked.

I pretended to be injured. “Even your niece doesn't speak?”

"Oh, of course, I'll tell you because you're the only grandchild I have and we also need someone to continue this legacy of ours, you know."

And so the woman continued to tell me each ingredient of the drink, and she called it "Savior"

"Why 'savior'?"

She clicked her tongue. "Because a hangover is a pain, and it would save us all a lot if we didn't have the effect afterward."

When the cup is empty, my head feels so much better, and clearer, I can think properly.
