Chapter 1

Sujoy's POV

 

Lying in my arms, her body still warm from our last encounter, she gazed at me with a satisfied smile.  

 

"Oh, I loved every minute of our date and... the hot encounter in bed. I’m glad I accepted your invitation," she murmured, tracing lazy patterns on my chest.

 

Well, it had been an eventful night. She was a responsive partner, and we both indulged in every pleasure without holding back.

 

"The pleasure was mine," I said smoothly. "Anyone who couldn’t satisfy a partner as passionate as you would have to be a blundering idiot. I’m not that kind of fool. Thanks for accepting my invitation."

 

I made a move to get out of bed, but she clung to me, pressing her head against my chest, her arms tightening around my torso.

 

What was wrong with her? We’d had four rounds of mind-blowing sex since last night. She still wasn’t satisfied? Insatiable!! 

 

Not that I minded, but I never liked clingy women. Unfortunately, they all turned clingy sooner or later—especially once they learned who I was. Being a successful businessman meant women didn’t just want a night of passion; they wanted more.

 

Love? It didn’t exist.

 

"Hey, where are you going? Stay with me a little longer," she coaxed, her voice sultry.

 

Nice try, baby, but that won’t work on me.

 

"Though I loved every minute of our steamy encounter, I have to go. I have an important meeting to attend." I smiled.

 

She pouted. "Do you need my help getting ready? Maybe a little back rub in the shower?" Her voice dropped to a teasing whisper.

 

Why not?? How could I refuse such an offer?

 

"  Well, I don't mind... But let's just keep it short as I don't want to be late. 

 

With that, I walked into the bathroom, and she followed. The shower turned into another intimate session, a fast but intense round.

 

Afterward, I grabbed a thick, heated towel from the heated Chrome rail and unfolded it. She stood there, her wet skin glistening, water droplets sliding down her back. As I wrapped the towel around her, she looked up at me with dark, inviting eyes.

 

Damn. How could I turn that down?

 

I pulled her in my arms again, my hands moving over her body briskly at first and then more and more slowly until she was longing for me to take the towel away and touch her bare flesh. The towel soon landed on the floor, along with the rest of our self-control.

 

After that, I didn't stay with her for long. Leaving her sprawled on the floor, I rose to my feet and went to take the shower again. 

 

I was running late, I cursed under my breath as the girl had been relentless, clinging to me even as I was getting dressed.

 

" So, when are we going to meet again? " she asked, hope lit up her eyes.

 

I didn’t even hesitate. "I don’t think that will be possible." My tone was cool and blunt.

 

Her face fell. "But why?"

 

"Isn’t it obvious?" I said. "I told you last night—this was just a one-night stand. No strings attached."

 

"Yeah, but we were great together. We both enjoyed last night and just a few minutes ago in the shower… Didn’t you?" she pressed, her fingers curling around my arm.

 

"  Isn't that obvious?  I told you last night that it was just a one-night stand with no strings attached." I reminded her.

 

" Yeah, but we are quite compatible. We both enjoyed last night and what we had just a few minutes back in the washroom. Didn't you? " She asked holding my arm. 

 

"I did," I admitted. "But that doesn’t mean we should continue seeing each other. A one-night stand should remain just that. Just a nightstand! " I said.

 

"That’s not fair!" she pouted.

 

"Listen, miss, I was clear with you before we came here. Now, please let go of my arm. I need to leave."

 

And with that, I walked out.

 

I was driving towards my office at my highest speed as I had an important meeting and I got late because of that girl.

As soon as I reached the office, my father was waiting for me, his expression sharp.

 

"Sujoy, where were you? Your mom was worried sick. You know how she is." Dad asked me. 

 

"Dad, I was with my friends. The party went on till three, so I just crashed there." I shrugged.

 

His glare darkened. "Do you think I was born yesterday?"

 

I sighed. "What, Dad? I’m not lying." I said with confidence. 

 

" Your mom called your friend Sahil, and he was at his home changing the diapers of one of his daughters. He had no idea about you. " He said.

 

Oh, shit!

 

"Dad, come on. I’m not a child. Stop this interrogation."

 

"Exactly," he shot back. "You’re not a child. In fact, you should have had a child by now."

 

Marriage? Not happening. Why bother when I already enjoyed all the privileges of one—without the responsibilities?
