Chapter 4

Athena Lemiere

"Good job! That's my girl.." My grandfather a.k.a the great Nicholas Lemiere patted my head and I smiled to him. Since I was a kid, I watched him repairing old cars in his garage and I can watch him for hours and hours without being bored.

"Are you sure.. that you're giving this to me? Dad said you love it so much." I asked him as I pointed at the old classic car in front of me.

"You're my granddaughter and there's nothing wrong with giving something that I love for you." He smiled and I hugged him.

"You're the best." I said and he chuckled.

"There you are.. Why are you spending your time here rather than spending time with me?" My dad walked in and he briefly hugged my grandfather.

"She's a pro in this." My grandfather said and I smiled nodding.

"Everyone was asking about you.. and all I can say is that my daughter is fixing cars in my garage." I rolled my eyes.

"Dad, you rather have me doing my things than me going out with boys.. so let me do my thing." I said and he looked at me disbelief.

"I mean.. I agree to that but still.. you need to spend time more with me."

"Says who's busy all the time." I slipped my arm around my grandfather.

"But.. I.. always-"

"I'm hungry and I want pizza. Are you coming with me sweet pie?" My grandfather asked.

"Yes!"

"Are you coming Matthew?" My grandfather asked.

"Fine." I smiled seeing my dad still obeying my grandfather. I mean I have an awesome grandfather to begin with and a really cool grandmother too. I love them so much and I love hearing their stories when they were young especially when my grandfather trying to get my grandmother's heart. I found it quite hilarious.

"I wanna drive!" I said.

"No, Athena, we have chauffer and besides I can die from heart attack with you driving." I looked at my dad disbelief.

"Next time, Athena." My grandfather said as he patted my hair and I pouted.

"Where are you guys going?" My mom walked out from the house.

"Pizza, mom."

"Do you want pizza too, Scarlette?" My grandfather asked.

"Yes please!" My granddad gave her an okay sign and she thanked him before she walked inside again.

"We'll buy it for you.." My dad said and he called his chauffer to get the car.

"So.. no boys at school right?"

"Granddad, not again. I'm not going if you're trying to interview and lecture me with no boys policy." I said as I crossed my arms in front of my chest. Suddenly our mansion gate opened revealing Chase with his big bike. He parked right in front of us and opened his helmet.

"Hey granddad!" He hugged granddad.

"Where were you?" I asked as I walked closer to him. I sniffed him and he pushed me away by pushing my forehead with his index finger.

"Get away."

"I smell something fishy." I looked at him suspiciously and at the same time.. our car is ready.

"Let's go." My dad said.

"Where are you guys going?"

"To get pizza." My dad answered.

"Go wash up and go to bed.. You ate pizza earlier with God knows who." My granddad said and I laughed at him.

"Bingo." I said and Chase glared at me.

"Go away, loser!" I hissed and got inside the car. Our chauffer drove out from our mansion towards our favorite pizza place.

"So.. How's Redent doing?" My granddad asked my dad and it reminds me of Xander right away.

"He's okay, he's just moving everything here to New York slowly. His son, Xander still not liking the idea of moving." Xander hates moving here? Why is it hard to believe?

"Is he still thinking about uniting Lemiere and Redent?" Uh?

"What do you mean uniting? I don't like the idea." I said and my grandfather chuckled.

"I teach you very well." He said.

"Yeah but I mean.. it's not like he's bad or something, it's just he suggesting me to arrange marriage our kids so we can unite in a good way." My dad said and I raised my eyebrows.

"So he wants Eva to be with Chase?" I asked.

"Or maybe you and Xander." My dad said and I looked at him in horror.

"There's no way!" I said loudly, completely hating the idea.

"Chill, I won't let that happen." My dad said and I nodded.

"I will never let my kids or grandkids through an arranged marriage, I'm really against it." My grandfather said and I hugged him.

"I agree too but Redent was suggesting that idea."

"Why is he really want to unite the both of us together? Is he dying?" I asked.

"York Company is a really big company, Athena. They don't trust a lot of people. They want to unite with us because we're a really big and successful company too. He doesn't trust anyone and the fact that Eva doesn't want to take the company over, it means he has to give it to Xander. It's not that he didn't trust Xander, it's just he's still not mature enough to handle things." My dad explained and I nodded.

"Then they should train him or throw him to an unknown island." I said and my dad laughed.

"He will turn mature soon.. I guess."

"He needs a turning point or maybe he needs to fall in love." I turned to my grandfather raising my eyebrows.

"Falling in love? What is that supposed to do with making someone mature?" I asked and my grandfather pointed his finger to my dad.

"What? Me?"

"Yes, you turn mature when you meet Scarlette."

"I already matured before I even met Scarlette. I was running your empire, old man."

"Don't you dare call me that!"

"You both are an old man now." I said and they both turned to me.

"Dad, if one day you're arrange marrying me with Xander, I will run away from home." I said.

"That's not going to happen." My dad said.

"Good.. because we're friends and I can see him in that kind of way."
