MaisieMy father had a way of making me lose my mind. His very presence annoyed me, and it had all started when I was still a small child. He would always find every reason to hit me, calling it discipline. He was very harsh on me growing up. It was almost like he hated me. And when I asked my mother if perhaps I was not really his son, she had told me he would have killed me if he thought that I was not his son. He had stopped hitting me eventually because I had started training to fight and would fight him back and mostly win. Now we had long arguments and shouting matches and threatened each other openly. It was a hate-hate relationship that I had with my father. Nothing more. There was no love. At least, I had never sensed that he held such a feeling for me. He only saw me as his replacement but always pointed out how I was lacking the qualities to take over from him successfully. I was determined to prove him wrong.
