"It's okay. I did them myself ." A proud smile stretched Aleena's face as she twirled around showing off her work.
"They look beautiful," Sarah chuckled before placing a kiss on her head. She slowly and cautiously moves her hands towards her daughter's hair in an attempt to make it a little neater.
Aleena suddenly dropped to the floor and crawled away. "What are you doing?" She yelled. "You're ruining it!"
"Sweetie, it looks like you spun around in the laundry dryer."
"But I like it!"
"If you really like it like that then you can keep it." Sarah turned and started to walk away before adding: "if you want to meet the guest, they are in the cave."
Sarah made it out into the hallway with a smile on her face. She paused and waited for Aleena to come running out to ask her to redo the braids. She turned to face the door counting down when something tapped her shoulder.
"Sarah?" A very familiar voice asked. "Sarah."
She turned around with her teeth bared. "Legolas," she growled.
As Sarah turned around, fear and guilt replaced the relief Legolas felt when he first identified his mate. Large scars ran down half of Sarah's face and Legolas vaguely remembered swiping her with his claws. "Did I do that?" He asked softly as he moved to touch it, losing all train of thought.
Sarah snared at his hand, ready to snap off his fingers with her teeth. "Touch me again and you'll lose you a limb," she threatened, hoping to God that Aleena doesn't choose this moment to ask her to redo her hair.
"But-" Legolas started Sarah 's worst nightmare at that moment.
"Mommy, can you do my hair?" Aleena ran out of the kitchen expecting to find her mother at the end of the ha but Instead barrelled into her. She moved around her mother to see who the strange man was that made her mother tense.
Sarah grabbed her daughter and hid her behind her back when she realized what she was doing.
"Who is that?" Legolas asked.
"None of your business," Sarah aggressively answered Legolas.
"Is she mine?" Legolas asked with a small smile. He had a daughter. He'd always wanted a daughter. And here she was standing in front of her. If she was his daughter. She looked around the right age.
Before Sarah could reply, she punched him as hard as she could. This resulted in him stumbling backwards, tripping and hitting his head against the wall. Legolas stood back up, clutching his head swaying back and front. He lifted his eyes up to look at Sarah before passing out.
"Mommy! You killed him!" Aleena yelled , rushing forward to check his breathing.
Sarah grabbed Aleena's arm and swung her around so that her daughter ran in a circle. She didn't need her daughter to know about her past or the father yet. It didn't feel like a good time when Sarah was still scared that he could hurt her worse than before.
"He's fine, sweetie." She told her daughter while mind linking Jackson to grab the pack doctor and check on how the alpha was doing. "How about we go to the kitchen so I can braid your hair."
"But mommy," Aleena cried as they reached Stephanie's door. "I don't want to be with Stephanie. It's your day off why can't I just be with you?"
"Mommy has some stuff to do. Now stay with Stephanie and I'll be back before bedtime." She knocked on Stephanie's house door and waited. Aleena didn't share the same patience. Her foot tapped on the ground and her arms were crossed. Her lips were over pursed and her eyebrows furrowed.
The door opened and a white powder covered Stephanie emerged. "Hello," Stephanie said to them.
"Can you watch over Aleena for a few hours?" Sarah asked, pushing Aleena forward into the door frame.
"Sure, but I am not putting her to bed. That's your duty." Stephanie opened the door wider so Aleena could stumble inside. "There are some cakes in the oven so no jumping!"
"Thank you, Steph," Sarah said.
"So what's so important on your day off that Aleena is coming to stay with me?"
"The alpha king is over."
I know. You allowed him and some other pack members to look for his missing mate."
"I have something I have to discuss with them."
"And…" Stephanie asked, rolling her hands to make Sarah continue with what she was saying.
"And?"
"What did you do that made you frantically try to find care for Aleena at dinner time?"
"I may have punched the alpha which caused him to hit his head on the wall and blackout."
Stephanie burst out laughing. And laughing. Before she managed to wheeze out; "He deserves that."
"Take care of my daughter," Sarah demanded before turning and walking away. Her plan was to visit the hospital and see how the alpha king was doing before demanding that he should stay away from her and her daughter.
"Good luck, Sarah," Stephanie yelled after her before closing the door to her room.
Sarah rolled her eyes and quickened her pace down the hallway to get out. Unlike some people, Sarah knew her way around the caves and the town. She had been blind in one eye for a few months after being found by Jackson and Stephanie. She had wandered the demon realm for a few days when she had bumped into the siblings. They brought back to their small camp of wolves inside the mountain and helped her heal. Surprisingly enough she had been able to keep her pregnancy and become an alpha. She helped bring that small group of wolves into a demon realm pack.
She arrived at the hospital wing and stopped before entering. She took a deep breath and walked in.
"Alpha finely, nice to see you," Doctor Oakland smirked.
"Doctor," Sarah said, lifting her cheek in a nervous smile.
"The alpha king is fine if you were wondering. His nose isn't broken, just bruised and should be healed in a few hours. His minor concussion should take a few days to heal."
"That's good, can I see him?"
"The room at the end of the hall."
"Thanks, doc," said Sarah. She was a little relieved that her ex-mate wasn't dead or badly injured. She was also a little sad that she didn't hit harder. But she was still pissed and unsure how facing him would make her feel.
Sarah slowly walked towards the room, lost in her thoughts. She didn't register that there were already voices in the room until she got to the door. Quickly she backed away until her back pressed against the wall beside the door in the conversation."Come on, alpha," a man's voice said. "It can't have been that hard.""It was mortifying," Legolas groaned."Your ex-mate punched you, knocked you unconscious and brought you to the hospital," another familiar voice said. Sarah peaked into the room. Legolas was sitting on a hospital bed with his shirt off. Man, did he have abs, beside the bed was a familiar face in which Sarah could not place a name. But she knew she had seen him around the roya pack. The other make was her brother Carlton."My bet is that she still has feelings for you," the unknown man laughed, shuffling closer to her brother."The only feelings she harbored for me is nager," Legolas muttered. "But I am not going to give her up. She's mine! And no one is going to take h
"Ready to go?" Carlton asked, plopping the large overnight bag at the end of the bed."No," Legolas said. "I want to stay longer.""I don't think she'll let you. We have overstayed our welcome," Albus said.Take the bags to the cars and I will be right there," Legolas stated, standing up and putting on a shirt."Why are you doing it?" Carlton asked."I'm going to talk to her. If she won't be my mate, the least she can do is to let me be part of my daughter's life."After walking down halls for what seemed forever and getting lost. Asking people for directions, Legolas finally found his way into Sarah's office. Only to be disappointed when he realized she wasn't there."Ugh," he signed in frustration, going to hit his feet against the stone wall but at the last minute backing out so there was a gentle tap on the wall. How could he be so stupid? Of course, she would hide from him until he left-back for his pack. If anyone saw him like this, they would be disappointed. The great Alpha kin
Legolas left after Sarah's little outburst. Thus leaving Sarah all alone in her office. She had dimmed the light and started to work on her paperwork. Although it seemed to take her much longer to fill out the form than she usually did.Sarah sighed yet again for the hundredth times in the last half an hour. This was pointless. She couldn't concentrate on any of her work, not when her mate was only a short distance away. If this were any other situation like eight years ago, she would have gone and found her mate for some special time."Mommy," a small tiny voice called, slowly opening the door to the office.Sarah moved away from the desk and held her hands open. Both Aleena and Sarah had secret codes, such as opening their arms for cuddles. Aleena smiled and ran over to her mother, jumping into her hands."Who was that angry man?" The little girl, Aleena, asked, snuggling into Sarah's chest."What do you mean?" Sarah replied to her with a question, pretending she didn't know what sh
"Sarah," Carlton said.Sarah froze. This wasn't what she was expecting. Yes, she had prepared a speech and a conversation in her head with Legolas. But she wasn't with her brother. She had no idea what to say. She didn't 3ven know if she wanted to talk to him. "Can we talk?" He asked, eyes pleading for a positive response. Alpha Legolas maddock had decided that they will leave the demon realm tomorrow afternoon and Carlton was hoping for a chance to talk with sarah. "Sure," Sarah tentatively replied." How are you?" Carlton asked."Seriously? We haven't seen each other for years and you start with,'how are you?' Sarah burst out, surprising herself and Carlton."I only wanted to talk...and apologize." Carlton looked down. He was expecting her to lash at him and was hoping she wouldn't.The door chose at the moment to burst open as the sparkling Albus came flaunting out. Carlton looked up and froze. Damn, his mate looked good, he thought as his eyes raked Albus's outfit."Hello handso
Legolas quickly got dressed. The moment with Sarah got his heart racing. By his bold reaction, he knew he was still attracted to her and knew Sarah may feel the same way he's feeling. He was eager to see her again. He wanted to patch up their relationship, no matter how long it took. All he knew was that he wanted Sarah back to his life and her daughter. "You can come in now," Legolas said, opening the door as he opened his sweater zipper. He froze when he saw Sarah smiling with another man right outside his door."Still on for tomorrow?" A man with golden-brown skin asked. His arms were draped around her shoulders. She smiled up at him since the man was taller than her. " Of course. I wouldn't miss the opportunity to go out on a date with Jackson!" she laughed."What are you doing?" Legolas gritted out. He could feel his wolf coming forward. Someone was threatening to take away his mate. He clenched his fists and glared at Jackson."Jackson and I are discussing launch plans," Sarah
Nine years ago Seventeen-year-old Sarah placed her hand gently in the hand of one of her suitors as he whisked her away to the dance floor. She smiled as the suitor twirled her around to grab hold of her other hand."It's a pleasure to dance with you," the man whispered in her ears.Jake was one of the suitors her parents had chosen for her. True mates were rare nowadays unless you were someone of power or rank. Therefore, once wolves had graduated from high school or had turned eighteen, whichever came first, they would begin the process of searching for their forever mate. The pair of them had become quite acquainted as they both enjoyed each other's company."What has it been now? Four dance at three of these balls?" Jake asked as the couple waltzed around the room."I believe it has been something like that," Sarah laughed. "Dancing is delightful 2hen you aren't stepping on my feet."Jake let out a loud boisterous laugh. Some people's heads turned around to look at the two of the
"Are you excited?" Sarah asked. She and Aleena were walking down the hall towards the dining hall. Well, she was walking and Aleena was skipping ahead, dragging her mother behind her."Yes!" Aleena cheered. "Do you think he'll like me? What should I call him? Dad? Daddy? Father?" "How about you ask him?""That's embarrassing! I won't do that! He'll think I'm wired," Aleena rumbled. Sarah smiles. Who wouldn't be nervous about meeting their parents for the first time or a stranger's? Sarah blushed as she remembered the first time she met Legolas and how he marked her in the bathroom before they even had a full conversation. However, that was normal for true mates; meeting, marking and mating are usually within the first twenty four hours to the first week "He won't think you are wired. He'll adore you." Sarah said."You think?" "Yes." Sarah pushed the door to the dining hall open. And suspected no pack members were talking and eating breakfast. There were two waiters who placed a few
Aleena happily packed up her room, humming as she threw drawers of her bright neon, sparkly clothing into a large box.Sarah was watching as she leaned on the door frame. She was fraustrated at herself for letting Legolas convince her to spend a week at his pack. She had no idea how he had done it, but he had. He had 3ven convinced Jackson to help with the Alpha's duties! Jackson, of all people! One thing she had to give him was the vacation he promised. She wouldn't have to be In her office all day doing paperwork and instead could be spending some time with Aleena. However, she wasn't looking forward to seeing her family again. Aleena had been her only family now for almost eight years.Movement caught Sarah's eyes as Aleena spun around her heel in her own head and listening to her own head music. Sarah smiled. She remembered designing Aleena's room when she was heavily pregnant. After much debate, she had decided to paint the walls a light, pastel yellow with a dark wood dresser an
