Eight years ago Sarah Connor woke up in the middle of the night. She lifted her head off the pillow, reaching for her mate who was suppose to be sleeping next her. There was no one and the sheets were cold. Groggily, she lifted herself up looking around.
"Legolas?" She asked looking around the room.
No answer.
Sarah shrugged and lay down again. He was probably just working late. But she could have sworn they went to sleep in each other's arms.
The next day while Sarah was wandering around the mansion looking for her mate, she had yelling and whimpering from the office.
"What's that?" She wondered, walking towards the office. There was something exciting that Sarah wanted to share with her mate but since she hadn't seen him for a while, she hadn't had the chance yet.
When she got to the door, she raised her hand to knock. Her fist paused before knocking.
Something was different. Sarah lowered her fist and strained her ears to listen. She knew from the many times that Legolas and she spent in the office, the office was pretty much soundproof if you were talking.
The air began to thicken around Sarah and started to pull at her mind. Her hands reach for her temples as her ears began to buzz. Witchcraft, she thought as she blink back the tears towards the door. Sarah has a feeling that her mate was in trouble and her wolf whined trying to get to him.
"Lego!" She called out reaching for the door as her body was pulled to the ground. She played crumpled on the ground, not having the energy to get up or move. It was magic pulling her to the ground. She could feel it trying to infiltrate her mind but it had little to no success. It wasn't targeted on her.
Sarah could hear roaring from inside the door which cause her to force her way to the door. Whoever was practicing witchcraft was targeting her mate, the Alpha king. She reached forward grabbing onto stone floors to pull her self closer to the door. It took all the strength she had to pull her body forward. It felt like her body was full of cement and not organs.
When she reached the door, she attempted to reach up to grab the door handle, but she found her arms weren't long enough. She would have to sit up to get the door open.
Luckily it wasn't that hard when the thick molasses-like arms dispersed. Sarah smiled. Her mate must have stopped the witch. As quickly as she could, she stood up and open the door. Was she found inside wasn't a pretty sight. Legolas, her mate, was passionately kissing petite brunette like he had been deprived of water until he found her.
"Lego!" She called.
His head snapped to her. Legolas normal soft, blue eys only held hatred when they met Sarah. A low, warning growls was released when he took a breath in.
"Witch," he growled.
"What?" Sarah ask as she did not understand why he said that word to her and not the obvious witch beside him.
"I can see right through you," he said, stalking towards Sarah.
She backed up in fear. This was her mate. She supported her mate through everything and had calmed him down when he was beyond pissed. But she had never been on the receiving side of his anger. "What do you mean, Lego?"
"Don't call me that," he growled into he had her backed up in a corner. "I'm not your mate, or your liver. It's Alpha for you."
"What are you talking about?" Sarah reached out to soothe her mate and run her fingers down his jaw like she does when he is mad.
Legolas stopped her hand before it touched his face. "I know all about your little scheme to seduce me. I know you put a spell to make me feel mating tingles."
"I'm not a witch, lego," Sarah started. "We've known each since we were children."
"Stop lying to me!" Legolas roared, picking Sarah up by the neck and tossing her across the room in the desk.
She whimpered, lifting her face. Her mate hurt her! Sarah's wolf push forward to defend them as she felt her injuries. There could be a few broken ribs and definite bruising.
"Legolas!" The brunette called him, as she whimpered, running over to him. "Are you okay?" Did that witch hurt you?"
"I'm fine baby," Legolas softly said to the girl. "Don't worry, Yuna. Once I dispose of this imposter…" he spat at Sarah. "I cab introduce you to the kingdom as the true moon goddess."
Yuna smiled sweaty at Legolas before turning to face Sarah and smirking. "Bye-bye birdie," she whispered into Sarah's mind.
"Please, Lego," Sarah tried as she got up. "I'm not the witch. She is! I would never betray you."
"Shut up, slut!" Legolas growled, pulling Yuna behind him as if Sarah had the strength to hurt his new found mate.
"Just hear me through, Lego. I would never hurt you, I barely know how to use make soup and you think I could perform high-level spell to trick you into being my mate?"
"That's exactly what you did. You took everything I had for my mate for yourself. You're selfish and deserve to be punished for your crimes," Legolas started, pulling Yuna into his side. She smiled up at him and curdled into his warmth.
Sarah felt a dagger was been plugged into her. It dug depper into her soft heart when Yuna ran her hand up Legolas's chest. He purred and Sarah lost it.
She rushed forward to prey this witch away from her mate. But Legolas didn't allow her close. He threw his hands and claws forward. Sarah stumbled backward reaching for her face.
Three deep cut ran jaggedly from her jaw, over her right eye and to her forehead. They were going to leave scars for the rest of Sarah's life. A reminder that her love wasn't strong enough to keep a witch from casting a spell on the wolf she loved. Her own wolf curled up in the corner of her mind as tears escape from Sarah's good eyes.
"Guards!" Legolas bellowed before checking over Yuna for any wounds. When he didn't find any, he curdled Yuna close, ignoring the sobbing from the corner of the room.
Present day"Where is she?" Legolas demanded, swiping his desk clear of everything from maps, notebooks and papers to his laptop, paper clips and pens. It had been eight years since he had last seen his mate, and the memories weren't pleasant. For weeks he had beaten her black and blue for bewitching him into becoming his queen of the moon. It had been the other way around. The witch had tricked him into becoming the moon queen and harming his true mate. He hadn't let himself live those events down. Each day he has punished himself for betraying his mate and not believing in her."We've looked everywhere," Carlton replied. The alpha wasn't the only one feeling guilty. Everyone in the pack had believed Yuna was the Alpha's mate and Sarah was the witch. No one had stopped to think about how Sarah grew up In the pack and had never shown any sign of being a witch. They all had called her rude names, spread vile rumors and punished her when they got the chance."Not everywhere, because sh
"I know something that could cheer you up," Albus continued talking. Legolas rolled his eyes. "Carton got a call this morning from the demon pack," Albus said. Legolas wolf perked up. Could it be? "Something about a pack member seeing a woman with the same features of ...her." Albus didn't dare speak her name in case the alpha lashed out. "Where?" Came the one word from Legolas. "Demon pack on the outskirts of the northern city." "What?" "Yeah, but Carlton dismissed it because it certainly couldn't be." Albus smiled, teasing him. Of course, Carlton hasn't dismissed the call in case it actually was her. Legolas threw the covers off and charged at Albus. His hand found Albus' neck and his back found the wall. "Geez, chill man," Albi's wheezed out. "Carlton set up a flight that leaves in an hour and he talked with the alpha there who is expecting the visit." The alpha, Carlton, Albus and a few members of the pack got off the plane in what felt like the middle of the night. I
"What else?" He asked."A free pass to get out of babysitting Aleena.""Deal.""Yes!" Sarah jumped off the throne and ran to hug Jackson. "You're the best."Jackson laughed. "You know I could have done it for nothing." He wrapped his arms around her and held her close. This was what she needed at this moment since it was her ex coming to visit.Sarah chuckled and replied. "I know but you deserve a break." She patted Jackson on the back just to remind him he was friend-zone. Sarah was glad that she had met Jackson and he was a great second in command and friend. Obviously she had let him know this. She has also told him that if something were to happen to her then he should take over as alpha."Go spend some time with Aleena." Jackson watched her skip away to spend the rest of her day with her daughter.Sarah followed the carved stone hallway to find the city. When she had first arrived it had taken her weeks to figure out the caves. The pack was located in a mountain. In the middl
ff to work so I'll help the wolves find out what they are looking for.""That will be great. I'm royal beta Carlton and this is my mate, Albums." Carlton pulled his mate close to him and kissed the top of his head.5"It's a pleasure to meet you," Jackson smiled, getting off his throne and walking down to the group of wolves. He extended his arm and shook Carlton and Albus' hands. "Welcome to the demon pack.""Alpha king Legolas," Legolas gripped Jackson's in a tight handshake. For some reason the wolf before Legolas set him off. He wanted to rip him apart because the wonderful scent was wrapped around him. Was this the guy his mate could have moved on to? Was the scent even hers?"What can I do for you, your Majesty?" Jackson avoided any eye contact with the alpha as a sign of respect. He kept his eyes either on the alpha's chest or on the ground. He also avoided glancing in Carlton and Albus direction in case one of them got possessive. His packs didn't need the royal pack to be he
"It's okay. I did them myself ." A proud smile stretched Aleena's face as she twirled around showing off her work. "They look beautiful," Sarah chuckled before placing a kiss on her head. She slowly and cautiously moves her hands towards her daughter's hair in an attempt to make it a little neater. Aleena suddenly dropped to the floor and crawled away. "What are you doing?" She yelled. "You're ruining it!" "Sweetie, it looks like you spun around in the laundry dryer." "But I like it!" "If you really like it like that then you can keep it." Sarah turned and started to walk away before adding: "if you want to meet the guest, they are in the cave." Sarah made it out into the hallway with a smile on her face. She paused and waited for Aleena to come running out to ask her to redo the braids. She turned to face the door counting down when something tapped her shoulder. "Sarah?" A very familiar voice asked. "Sarah." She turned around with her teeth bared. "Legolas," she growled. As
Sarah slowly walked towards the room, lost in her thoughts. She didn't register that there were already voices in the room until she got to the door. Quickly she backed away until her back pressed against the wall beside the door in the conversation."Come on, alpha," a man's voice said. "It can't have been that hard.""It was mortifying," Legolas groaned."Your ex-mate punched you, knocked you unconscious and brought you to the hospital," another familiar voice said. Sarah peaked into the room. Legolas was sitting on a hospital bed with his shirt off. Man, did he have abs, beside the bed was a familiar face in which Sarah could not place a name. But she knew she had seen him around the roya pack. The other make was her brother Carlton."My bet is that she still has feelings for you," the unknown man laughed, shuffling closer to her brother."The only feelings she harbored for me is nager," Legolas muttered. "But I am not going to give her up. She's mine! And no one is going to take h
"Ready to go?" Carlton asked, plopping the large overnight bag at the end of the bed."No," Legolas said. "I want to stay longer.""I don't think she'll let you. We have overstayed our welcome," Albus said.Take the bags to the cars and I will be right there," Legolas stated, standing up and putting on a shirt."Why are you doing it?" Carlton asked."I'm going to talk to her. If she won't be my mate, the least she can do is to let me be part of my daughter's life."After walking down halls for what seemed forever and getting lost. Asking people for directions, Legolas finally found his way into Sarah's office. Only to be disappointed when he realized she wasn't there."Ugh," he signed in frustration, going to hit his feet against the stone wall but at the last minute backing out so there was a gentle tap on the wall. How could he be so stupid? Of course, she would hide from him until he left-back for his pack. If anyone saw him like this, they would be disappointed. The great Alpha kin
Legolas left after Sarah's little outburst. Thus leaving Sarah all alone in her office. She had dimmed the light and started to work on her paperwork. Although it seemed to take her much longer to fill out the form than she usually did.Sarah sighed yet again for the hundredth times in the last half an hour. This was pointless. She couldn't concentrate on any of her work, not when her mate was only a short distance away. If this were any other situation like eight years ago, she would have gone and found her mate for some special time."Mommy," a small tiny voice called, slowly opening the door to the office.Sarah moved away from the desk and held her hands open. Both Aleena and Sarah had secret codes, such as opening their arms for cuddles. Aleena smiled and ran over to her mother, jumping into her hands."Who was that angry man?" The little girl, Aleena, asked, snuggling into Sarah's chest."What do you mean?" Sarah replied to her with a question, pretending she didn't know what sh
