Chapter Seven

The sun was extremely rude, right through the trees it rays hit my face. I groaned angrily and roll over trying to avoid the sun rays but the hardness of the ground against my skin caused me to open my eyes.

I opened my eyes and found myself in the forest. I felt scared not knowing where I was. I sat up fast, too fast that my head hurt badly.

I looked down and was shocked to see I was naked. No shirt, no pants, no shoes just dirt in my fingers

I gasped as I saw my naked body and covered it immediately with my arms. I froze when I saw dried blood at the back of my right hand.

“Blood!” I screamed as I quickly checked myself and realized that it wasn’t mine.

I looked around, everywhere was full of trees no house or road just the chirping sound of birds.

“ Think, Rachael think” I said to myself. The last thing I remembered was being pulled by the hair by Andrew and his wolf being in charge then nothing, it felt like a blackout in my mind.

I looked at my hands everything was fine apart from the dirt under them and the blood.

I stood up to see my feet extremely dirty and my legs felt weak. I slowly walked and found a stream. I drank from it and cleaned up, my reflection showed in the stream then I heard a voice.

“ Who’s there?” I asked frightened as I looked around

“My name is Nyra and I am your wolf” I heard the voice inside my head

I couldn’t contend my happiness that my wolf was finally here.

“ Why didn’t you come on my eighteen birthday why now?” I asked feeling emotional

“ I had always been here, just couldn’t muster the courage to face you since after our parents death”

“ Why was that?” I asked her

“ You must have forgotten but you knew me earlier at the age of eight. The day our pack was attacked I promised you I would protect our parents but I failed you. I felt ashamed and withdrew myself as I couldn’t trust myself to protect you but last night I couldn’t let him molest you so I killed him”

Pictures hit my mind fast and hard as everything that had happened in the room play in my head and this time there was no blackout. I saw how Nyra took charge and killed Andrew with her claws.

“Andrew is died!” I screamed in shock and fear though I wasn’t sorry about his death cause he deserved it. I was more worried about how I would go back to live in the pack house

“Rachael don’t worry we have each other besides is this not what you have always wanted, to be free from Blackwood pack” My wolf was right but where would I go from here.

I walked for an hour, felt cold and hungry. Finally found a dirty shirt in the forest which stink badly but it was way better than walking naked. My feet were cut and bleeding. I sat under the tree feeling exhausted.

“Stop. Someone is coming” Nyra spoke in my head

I looked up fast “ Who is there?”

A man walked out of the bush with his hands slowly raised so I could see them.

His clothes was dirty and a scar was on the right side of his cheeks. His eyes were yellow which felt strange as he was the first person I had seen with yellow coloured eyes.

I stepped back in fright “Don’t touch me”

The man stopped mid way “ I won’t” His voice low but rough. His eyes held sincerity in them.

“ You are hurt” He looked down at my feet bleeding

“First shift” He asked me. I was shocked and surprised

“How do you know?” I looked at him. He walked close to me but not too close. He sat on the ground.

“ Because mine was just like yours. Woke up naked with no memory just blood everywhere”

For the first time I felt I had a connection with someone and didn’t feel like I was odd or different.

“ My name is Jacob” He looked directly into my eyes before he continued

“ I am a Rogue, I have no pack, no alpha just me and others like me”

Hearing he was a rogue I felt a mixed of emotions both scared and excited.

“ My name is Rachael” I said not ready to share other details of my life.

He nodded and threw a bag at me which contained clean clothes and food with water.

I was grateful to be free from the dirty shirt I had worn earlier though this new cloth was big but it was clean.

“I know you have no where to go so you could choose to go with me or go on your own”
