THE CURSED ALPHA

Rachael’s pov

“Rachael! Rachael!” Cara’s voice echoed through the hall way instantly snatching me from my dream world back to reality which I dreaded the most. My dream world had always been my only means of escape yet I am still taunted even in it.

My name is Rachael Anderson, the only survivor of the Crescent moon pack. My father, Williams Anderson was the alpha and my mother Elizabeth was the Luna. My parents ruled with compassion and was loved by the people making me the most pampered child in the pack but that didn’t last long as disaster struck changing my fate from the once Princess of Crescent moon pack to a maid in the Black wood pack.

It has been more than a decade since the incident yet it felt like yesterday. The loud scream and roaring, the splashing of blood and the lifeless bodies lying around. The rage and agony in my father’s voice seeing my mother’s lifeless body while he fought till his last breath still lingers in my thoughts.

I shook myself off from the memory that the six years old me had witnessed and now that memory had become my nightmare.

“Rachael! Rachael!” Cara’s voice once again filled the atmosphere and this time

I ran as fast as my tiny legs could take me. I didn’t want to be starved again not caring about my disheveled hair and the drool that stuck at the left side of my mouth.

“You disgusting piece of shit” Cara cursed the moment she set her eyes on me. I immediately tried to arrange my hair and wipe my face.

“What the hell took you so long?” Cara questioned with a deadly glares.

“I….I slept late last night cause I had to finish doing the chores you gave to me”

“I don’t care if you slept or not so don’t you dare give me that filthy excuse or you might not have any meal today” Cara threatened and I knew these were not empty words

“Now clean this room before I get back or else you will have me to contend with” Cara walked out of the room with her bag leaving me staring back at her messy room.

Cara was the Alpha’s daughter, she had everything at her beck and call. Her father, Alpha Adam was my father’s best friend who took me in after the incident. Though I felt grateful to him for giving me shelter but sometimes I thought it would have been better I went rogue than staying in this hell of a place.

I have always been the odd one in the pack. I have been bullied since the first day I came here. They called me a cursed child for killing not only my parents but my whole pack. Being the outcast of the pack I could only hope that once I turned eighteen and shifted into my wolf form I could finally be free then probably go rogue but that fantasy came to an end as I turned eighteen and was unable to neither shift nor hear the voice of my wolf that made me scared .

“What if I never get to hear my wolf voice or shift” I thought in fear of being wolf less and having to live in this pack as a maid for the rest of my life.

It has been two hours arranging Cara’s messy room and I was finally done when a pack member named Mara came to inform me that Luna Regina who was Cara’s mother calls for me.

I immediately went paled remembering the last time she had called me and the whipping I got only because Cara had complained about me. I was scared out of my wit of what punishment awaits me. I knew I had to quickly go to her even if it means dragging my feet to her room.

“Come in” Luna Regina voice was heard as I knocked on the door. I took a deep breath before stepping into the room.

I stood in front of her for what felt like eternity before she finally looked at me. I held my breath under her piercing gaze as I awaited my punishment only for a smile to appear on her cheeks which I found creepy.

“Tomorrow is Cara’s birthday and coming of age ceremony so I am sure you are very much aware of how important this is”

“Yes Luna” I bowed respectfully and quietly waited for her to continue

“Alphas from different packs would be at attendance and even the alpha king. I want to see everywhere sparkling clean and nothing must go wrong or else even your life wouldn’t be enough to pay for it” Regina expression change from the creepy smile to a deadly glares.

“Now leave” Regina waved a hand of dismissal

Immediately I left her sight not wanting to spend another second before her, only to run into Andrew the Beta’s son. Andrew was the guy I had a crush on as he was the only one that was a bit nice to me the first day I was brought to the Blackwood pack and I had even hoped he would be my mate but I am glad that didn’t happen as he was nothing but a scumbag.

“Are you blind or you are just so stupid that you didn’t see me coming” Andrew arrogantly spoke those words giving me a disgusting look.

I bit my lips as I held back the words that threatened to come out of my mouth.

“Can’t you speak or are you now dumb as well” Andrew pushed me against the wall and I immediately felt a sharp pain as my shoulder hit the wall. I knew that I was definitely going to sustain bruises.

“Andrew please let me go” I pleaded and tried to escape but my pleading sounded like music to his ears.
