THE REVELATION

Marching into the private ward he was kept in, they could see two policemen standing beside the hospital bed where he was lying with fluid running through his veins. They both heaved a sigh of relief as they caught sight of him and his head turned in their direction, hearing their footsteps.

Daren walked slowly towards the bed and the policemen offered him a seat.

He declined and Charles took his seat diligently with his eyes fixed on the young man lying on the bed, looking debilitated.

“You asked to see me. What happened to you?” Daren asked grumpily.

“She tried to kill me,” Jerry said with a chuckle.

“Who?” He asked with his eyes wide open.

“The one behind all of your mysteries,” he replied with a smile.

“Be straight,” Charles commanded from his seat.

“Your brother’s wife, Diana,” he spilled and their eyes bulged.

He turned slowly to look at his father whose eyes were wide open in dismay.
