Elysia went about her day's routine, shopping for groceries and reading books, she always enjoyed going out for the grocery shopping with the maids so she often did.

Also, the doctor had told her the importance of exercise while not stressing herself at all.

A lot was about to change, she had not even gone through the details of her assets to know if she was going to keep the house or not.

She wasn't certain which she wanted either.

The day was long and lonely and even if she stayed that way every other day, the image of her signature on the documents kept her conscious of the fact that it was real.

She was no longer married to Orion.

She was no longer Mrs Steelhart.

"Should I clear the plates Ma'am?"

"Hmm," she nodded.

"You have barely eaten today." The maid was concerned, Elysia knew that she had to eat healthy for the sake of her baby but none of the food appealed to her appetite.

"I'll have a bowl of mushroom soup," she requested knowing she had to eat for two people.

She sat in the living room staring at the wall clock waiting for the door knob to turn but it never did. Orion still wasn't back home.

Thoughts of him in the arms of his lover easily clouded her head and she tossed her phone aside, lying flat on the floor with her hands joined over her belly.

"I guess Daddy really doesn't want us here anymore," she whispered to herself or to the baby.

"Your soup,"

she smiled and sat up when she was served. The soup smelled good, a good stimulus for her appetite indeed, she slurped it till she emptied the bowl's content.

She was ready to run a bath and retire for the night when she saw her phone's screen bright with light, it didn't take long for whoever called previously to call again.

"Elysia!" The person on the other end of the phone sounded upset.

"Hi Orion," the compusure in her voice was a stark contrast to his.

"Where did you keep your phone?" His tone was a bit more gentle, he got a grip of himself when he heard the coldness in her voice.

"With me, why?" She asked audaciously and he gritted his teeth.

"So why haven't you been replying my texts?" He asked running his free hand through his hair to calm his pulsating nerves, for some reason he felt as though she was distant and he wanted to breach the gap between them.

"I was busy, I had other engagements."

"Elysia, you know we are a family and you keeping me in the dark or not responding to my texts gets me worried, you can ask me for anything." there was a certain texture in his voice but she refused to be swayed by his kind words.

"You know I really think we should contact each other less now that we are divorced." She bit her lower lip after saying the words, she didn't need his pity.

"Oh really?" Orion flared, "Is this what this is all about? The divorce?" He queried but she remained quiet and hopeful.

"Were you waiting for it all along because my assistant told me that you were not pleased with the compensation money I offered." Elysia froze, her disapproval earlier in the day had nothing to do with the amount or assets, She didn’t want the divorce, didn’t care about the money, but she was being accused of it all.

She scoffed, pulled herself up and lounged on one of the sofas, was that really what he thought of her?

"Answer me Elysia!" His tone was firmer.

In frustration, she said, “That’s right! I only ever thought of you as family anyway. Now that we’re divorced, I’ll go find someone new, someone I love as well.”  she paused.

"Someone that will love me," the last sentence was an inaudible whisper.

As she said the words, a tear escaped, trailing down her cheek dropping to her lap.

“Don’t act out of spite. I’ll give you more money for security. We’re still family, and you can come to me if you need anything.”  she shook her head, some things were just meant to be the way they were, she couldn't tell him the truth of their relationship and her love for him.

Orion placed a call to his secretary with his official phone without dropping Elysia's call.

"Add another zero to the money for the divorce, make sure her wellbeing is not jeopardized either." his assistant gasped doubting the credibility of her ears.

Orion was really going to give out hundred million dollars to his ex wife excluding the property, jewelry and shares he already assigned to her, one divorce with him was instantly going to make her a millionaire indeed.

Elysia also hearing it over the phone felt a mix of emotions, she was sad about that he only thought of her as a platonic part of his family but she was happy that he still cared about her.

Opening her heart up to him again, she asked, "Are you coming home? where are you?"

"Will you join me in the shower—" at the sound of a female voice in the background, Elysia hung up.

She had thought that she was wrong about him, she had thought to give him another chance but she was wrong again.

Nothing had changed.

Her heart felt heavier as the weight of his betrayal gnawed at her.

She couldn't carry herself to the same room that contained everything about him so she stayed there, tears streaming down her face as she cried bitterly.

Did he really betray her since he was honest with her from the start?

Her chest was tight, her body quaked with sobs as she mourned what was left of her broken home. It was definitely the voice of his lover, she was only a stand in replacement and the real owner of his heart had returned.

She was going to give them space.

She kept staring at the letter in her hand, slowly, her hand began to shiver, her lips started to bleed as she bit her lower lips unknowingly to her. After what seemed like an eternity, she shook her head and heaved a heavy sigh that was capable of clearing a pathway. She opened the door, walked towards her room, and stared at the letter once more, but one thing was constant- her reaction. Opening the drawer slowly, she threw the letter in and walked out of the house quickly, ignoring the thought of opening the letter even when she wanted to know what was inside. Slowly, she strolled through the quiet street, leaves that had fallen the previous afternoon due to the rain crunching beneath her feet as she walked alongside the park, the gentle chirping of birds filling the air. The warm sunlight filtered through the trees, casting dappled shadows on the sidewalk and revealing her shadow; if there was anyone with her at that moment, it was only her shadow. She made her way to the co

Elysia transferred her hand to her waist after rubbing the sweat on her forehead due to the arrangement she had just made. Tiredness got the better of her when she arrived the previous night, so she had to postpone the arrangement to the next day which had arrived. One of the things she never did was procrastinate, and just like she concluded within her, she was done putting the place in order. “That's it,” she whispered softly to herself but a disappointed look clouded her face as she turned to the last bag. Not knowing what was inside, she opened up the bag, it was some of her photos. Framed photos to be precise. One by one, she brought them out, running her finger through every one of them as she placed them together, till it got to the last one. It was a photo of her and her husband. Scratch that. Her ex-husband to be exact. She swallowed hard as the stare survived ten seconds…and twenty. She stood at that very spot, rooted to it. She could not take her eyes off it; a

Under the thick dark clouds that blanketed the night sky and the heavy pouring rain, Elysia dragged her bag, walking slowly with a destination in mind. Her clothes clung tightly to her skin due to how wet they were. Already half a block away from her house—or rather what is now her previous house—and what felt like forever, a faint light shone from the distance. Squinting her eyes and focusing her gaze on the source of the light, a very faint smile appeared on her face and disappeared almost as fast as it had appeared. It was the headlight of an approaching car; hopefully, it's a cab. Just as it drew closer, Elysia stretched out her hand, and thankfully, it was a cab.“Where to, ma'am?” The driver asked, turning back to stare at her. Elysia clenched her teeth to stop them from clanging, and she tried to reduce her shivering as much as she could. Meeting the driver's gaze with eyes devoid of any emotion, she told him her destination. The driver pressed his lips together and nodd

Heart beating hard against his chest, his fingers tightened hard around the steering wheel. Orion changed the direction he was moving in; Seraphina had just sent a message to him that she had been taken to her house. Which he found quite weird, but not for long; the feeling that the accident might have been a bit severe clouded his judgment a bit. It took him quite a while to arrive at her upscale apartment in the city, which was in the opposite direction he was moving earlier. He finally arrived at her apartment. He packed his car and made his way to her gate. After pressing the doorbell twice, Seraphina decided to answer him. Her lips stretched into a wide smile, revealing her teeth. For obvious reasons, Orion wasn't smitten by her smile like he had always been; it was different this time. He had struggled to make a difficult choice an hour plus ago, only to get here and find out he had been pranked. Seraphina was looking perfectly fine, dressed in a tight blue gown that

“Give me a minute,” Orion said to the nurse and answered the call. A sob came from the other end of the line immediately after he picked up the call, causing his forehead to crease in concern. “What happened?” He hurriedly asked, his voice heavily laced with worry. "Where are you?" "I took my wi—Elysia to the hospital, she's feeling unwell."A loud sniffle filled his ear before she let out any word past her lips. “I-I, um, got into a really terrible accident, and I re-really need you here. I'm in pain,” she said amidst sobs. “Text the address to me,” he said to her in a half panicked state. “I'll be there as fast as I can,” he added. “oh my, I knew you would come, I'll be waiting,” she mumbled and ended the call. Not long after she ended the call, she sent the address. Orion stared at the screen, torn between two women; he had no idea what decision to make. Either to move to the love of his life, Seraphina, who seemed to be in pain and terribly injured, or to follow the nurse

Chapter 9The air in the hospital was a little bit cool, biting through the thin fabric of Elysia’s chiffon top or it was her helplessness that made her cold.Plain white walls, monochrome colored furniture and people everywhere, someone was crying in the arms of another. Someone paced the lobby, the smell of antibiotics filled the air as well, Elysia truly felt sick in her stomach suddenly. ”Good evening, sir, good evening, ma'am,” Upon arrival at the hospital, they came across a nurse who welcomed them warmly. Her neatly ironed uniformed and toothy smile told a tale of her loving her job.“Please what are you here for?” In the most polite way ever, she asked. Elysia did not stop moving, and that prompted the nurse to follow her from behind, closely. She noticed Orion's presence and she turned back to him. "I think she's unwell but she's refusing to say anything about it. Can you help me find out what's wrong with her?" he paused in his tracks. "Sure and you are?" "Orion..." he
