Day one, Switzerland, Wengen

Dahlia glanced at them. “Look, I don’t get it, and honestly, I don’t want to get it.” She shoved her hands over her ears and stormed off.

Hunter faced Lupin. “So, what’s your plan here?”

“Stick around this week. She’ll figure it out eventually,” Lupin replied casually.

“No. I’m not letting you take her,” Hunter shot back.

“You really want to go another round and risk losing her again?” Lupin raised an eyebrow.

Hunter muttered a curse. “Just take us into town. My car’s not here yet. Please.”

Lupin gestured toward the car.

Lupin caught Dahlia’s reflection in the rearview mirror, her gaze fixed on the passing scenery.

“I came here to relax, not to get caught in whatever this is,” she said flatly.

“And you will,” Lupin chimed in. “But first, food. Then we’ll fill you in.”

Her phone buzzed. “Todd?”

“Hey, did you get my text?”

“Yeah, but now’s not the best time…”

“Finally! Just tell me you’re okay.”

“I’m fine, Todd. Thanks for checking in. I miss you guys alread

  • THE HOLIDAY I BECAME HIS LUNA   What the hell did you just do?

Bram settled beside her in the jet, while Gahn sat across, eyes shut. The steward slid coffees onto the table.“Bram, that was really thoughtful of you to get all those gifts for the pups,” Dahlia said, raising an eyebrow.“Wasn’t me,” Bram replied, shrugging. “Some anonymous pack member stepped up.”“Seriously? I’ve got to meet them. That’s borderline saintly. Must be one hell of a person,” Dahlia said, taking a slow sip of her coffee.Gahn stared out the window, avoiding her gaze. Why won’t he look at me? Dahlia wondered. She pushed back her chair and headed to the back of the private jet where Jason and Todd were seated."Well, did you figure out how to decorate your cabin yet?" Dahlia asked, leaning against the doorway.Todd glanced up at her. "You don’t give a damn about my decorating skills. Spill it, what’s going on?"He moved next to her. Dahlia whispered something in his ear.Todd nearly choked on her coffee. "Why do you always drop bombs when I’m holding a drink? I swear, I’

  • THE HOLIDAY I BECAME HIS LUNA   The pack is waiting

Gahn headed downstairs, his mind a mess. Why’s she keeping me here if she chose Hunter? And why does it feel so real when we kiss? It’s like she means it.Todd clapped him on the back. “Yeah, man, being with her is tough, but not being with her? That’s worse.”“Tell me about it,” Gahn muttered. “She wants me to stick around, but I don’t know if I can handle seeing Hunter with her. I’ll lose it.”Jason joined them, stopping mid-step as Dahlia descended the stairs. Her red dress made her look almost angelic.“Damn, she’s beautiful,” Todd said, hand over his mouth like he was trying to hold it in.Dahlia moved through the crowd, greeting more pack members. The music played on, drinks flowed, and Bram stepped up to ask her to dance.“You seem better today,” she said to him.“I’ve made peace with it,” Bram replied, smiling.“I never thanked you for everything you did for me,” Dahlia said, looking up at him.“I did it because I love you, Dahlia. You know that.”“You love me, Bram, but you’r

  • THE HOLIDAY I BECAME HIS LUNA   A delicate snowflake

Christmas eveThe snow was coming down hard outside, and she scowled, annoyed they wouldn’t let her off the bed. She threw on some clothes and slipped out unnoticed. She found the kids playing and joined in, laughing as they raced down the hill on the sleigh, shrieking, and pelting each other with snowballs.Todd walked into the room with a tray, only to find Dahlia missing. Panic set in immediately. He called Gahn. “I can’t find her. Where the hell is she?”“I’m parking the car now. I’ll take a look, wait, never mind. Found her,” Gahn said casually.“Where is she?” Todd demanded.“Playing with the pups and the kids,” Gahn replied, grinning.Dahlia felt a warmth spread through her stomach. She winked at the kids, then leaned into Gahn as his arms wrapped around her. Turned around, but not before she said. “Your turn,” spinning him around just in time to take a bunch of snowballs to the backShe kissed him quickly.“Kiss of death, huh? Let me take the hits?” Gahn teased.“Obviously. I’

  • THE HOLIDAY I BECAME HIS LUNA   You didn't fight for her

"Move your ass, Bram," Gahn snarled, his voice low and dangerous.Bram stepped aside quickly. "She’s been poisoned. The bullet was laced with something."Gahn dragged a chair to the bedside, his hand brushing her cheek. "Who the hell wants her dead? That’s the question, isn’t it? I left her alone to figure things out, and now this. But guess what? I’m not walking away. Not now, not ever."Todd and Jason exchanged a glance."Alright, Gahn, you take the first watch," Todd said. "I’ll relieve you in a few hours.""I’m not leaving her," Gahn snapped. "Bram, how bad is it?""I’m running tests on the poison. I’ve given her the antidote, she should wake up soon.""Good. Now get out, all of you," Gahn ordered. The door clicked shut behind them.Dahlia trudged through the snow, alone, until a sound made her turn. Her mother stood there, radiant as ever."Mommy!" Dahlia threw her arms around her."Listen carefully, my child," her mother said softly. "I spoke to the goddess. She granted me one w

  • THE HOLIDAY I BECAME HIS LUNA   He is my best friend...

Two days before ChristmasTodd gestured for her to sit and eat. Dahlia slumped into the chair, her chest tight.“I keep remembering more family crap,” she said, her voice low. She glanced at Gahn, who flashed her a grin and a wink, which made her laugh despite herself.“Are you serious, Dahlia?” Todd snapped, glaring at her.“What, Todd? I just said hi to him. Chill out,” she shot back.“Don’t look at him, don’t smile, don’t do anything,” he barked. “You need to figure out what, or who, you actually want.”Bram approached, his expression serious. “We need to talk. Now.”She followed him to his office, and he shut the door firmly behind them.“Sit,” he said, pacing. “I’m dropping out of the race.”“What?” she stared at him, stunned.“The connection’s almost gone, Dahlia. I’m not even a blip on your radar anymore. And it hurts, because I thought you were into me.”She wrapped her arms around him, her mind a jumbled mess. “I don’t know what I’m doing, Bram. I’m so lost.”He hesitated, th

  • THE HOLIDAY I BECAME HIS LUNA   You want the truth?

“I covered your eyes so I wouldn’t get lost in them,” he said.“Bullshit. Try again,” she shot back.“I want you,” he murmured.“That’s true, but it’s not the whole truth,” she teased.“Damn, you’re good. How do you do that?” he asked, half-laughing.“Magic,” she said, her hand grazing his face, fingers slipping into his mouth as she exhaled softly.“Fuck, Dahlia, you’re so tuned into me. I can’t handle it. I’m losing it. Come on, let’s hit the shower and get back to bed.”She made a sad face. He climbed on top of her, pressing his weight down, kissing her until she gasped for air. “Don’t stop now,” she whispered, her voice low.Their skin burned against each other. He eased into her, and she arched into him with a sharp gasp, her body responding to every movement. He took his time, teasing her as his mouth traced her breast. Her nails dug into his back, her moans growing louder until he muffled them with his mouth. She came undone beneath him, and as he pulled away, he finished on he
